Very Good for PVP, pretty much makes a win for you against mages and locks and hunters, but locks are easy anyways =D.

It's also possible to apply this poison to a spare offhand weapon, switch your original offhand in combat with a macro,
#show WEAPON NAME
/equipslot 17 WEAPON NAME
and then Shiv the target. This will allow you to use up to many different types of poisons on a single target such as Wound Poison VII or Mind-numbing Poison as long as you have the spare offhands to switch to.

switching weapons will result in a reset swing timer which means dps loss.
if you want to keep up 3 different poison types, you are going to have to switch your weapons quite often. not a good idea since you cannot kill your target with utility debuffs.

Not only do you no longer create poisons, there is now only one rank of Crippling Poison.

This is very useful when leveling (at least at low levels), most mobs (especially damn Murlocs and casters) will try to escape at low health and bring some friends to you, this poison allows you to kill the mob before you get in trouble.

I know this will sound weird, but Crippling Poison is not purchasable by non-Rogues. I went to four different <Shady Dealer> vendors on my Druid and all of them don't have Crippling Poison for sale. However, sending my rogue to all of them it showed up. I was planning on buying some on my Druid and sending it to my Rogue, but apparently this isn't possible.

Crippling Poison can be applied to your Thrown weapon.
So when there's an enemy player taunting your rooted/slowed/polymorphed/whatever character 30 yards away, you can throw something at him, and it may slow him down dramatically to give enough time for catching up.

if you want to get the poison (1), go to orgrimmar ( in my case :P ) and speak with the troll guy near the rogue trainers, located in the cleft of shadow, he will give you the quest ( please dont hate me if i do it wrong ) Mission: Possible but not Probable, there you will need to do a bunch of things, then after you get the stuff he wants, you will notice you will have a ten day poison that will be cured on the third part of the q, which the guy will give you an antidote AND your poison(1) PLUS recipe for instant poison I...

Both horde and alliance can get poisons, they just have quests with different names. I've done both quests, and personally think it's a lot easier on ally side.

i took a quest from the rogue trainer at lvl... 28^^ that quest was to kill some guy in a tower in westfall (elite) then pick some lock, i got a curse, talked to the guy in basement, then go a recipe for cooking instant 100 enery potion... wasnt really what i was after.. where do i get the quest for poison?

I think on ally side it's called Mathias and the Defias. I just got it now in old town SW second floor.

to get poison you have to do a quest that starts at SI:7. take the quest and go to westfall on the border of the river at the edge of duskwood where there is a high tower. there you will find the agent of SI:7 that will give you the definitive quest. be sure you are at least 80 in lockpicking. finishing the quest you' ll get a course; if you are a dwarf you can easily eliminate it with stoneform

WtF. I completed the tower thing w/ the key n other thing but all i got was the recipe for the potion. What do i do now? my rogue trainer aint worth crap since he isnt showing me any poisons or anything; I don't think there's a poison "trainer" either.

methias and the defias, is the quest name. its given from the guy on the top of the stairs, but below the spiral. hope it helped.

Posted this in the Instant Poison part, so might as well here. Hope it helps someone :)

You will learn Instant Poison at the end of both of these, and can learn Crippling Poison immediatly afterwards by talking to a rogue trainer (it's under the catagory "Poisons").

NOTE: Make SURE you have 80 lockpicking before you even start. It is needed to open the chest, so you don't want to have to run back and forth.

After you get the curse, hordies (at least orc/troll) have to make sure all other parts of the quest are done. (kill the enemies,loot the bosses head, get the key) Go back to the rogue trainer in Org and speak to him for a quest that sends u to tarren mill. Also, dump yur quest items from the last one, u won't need em anymore. Go to undercity via zeppelin, and then walk through silverpine to hillsbrand. Talk to the guy in tarren mill and he will take the poison. About 30 seconds later, he will give you the cure to the poison and you will get the poisons skill.

Anyone know if Nature Resist effects this landing? There are 2 types of listings for this that are misleading. The "apply to weapon" listing shows Physical.. cause you're applying it to the weapon, but the "actual effect" shows Nature.

I'm looking for a proven and tested answer not just hearsay or assumptions please.

Umm.... i got a queston... Poisons for rogues and stuffs.... is it just poisons the rogues can learn to do... or do they later learns just a magic that is poison somehow....? xD

And.. about the "Crippling Poison"... i've done the rogue quest.... so is it jsut to speak with the troll in cleft of shadowand then i can make it?

As horde player, after you finish your Rogue quests ending in Tarren Mill where you get the Instant Poison, go back to the rogue Trainer to get your Crippling Poison.
