This is one of the trinkets acquired by defeating four bosses in the Edge of Madness section of Zul'Gurub. The bosses are Gri'lek, Renataki, Wushoolay, and Hazza'rah. Each two weeks the current Edge of Madness boss changes in a predictable rotation, so constructing this trinket takes a minimum of six weeks.

Although this Charm may be next-to-useless in PvE, in 1v1 PvP it provides 4-5 lightning orbs' worth of unavoidable, passive damage. Some matchups that's worth something (Rogues?) and some matchups it isn't.

This trinket rocks!

It gives about 500 damage each time it goes off.
So when loading the shield u have 1500 damage each time to deal. (Compared with trinkets that have a chance to go off)
It only uses 300 mana! Guaranteed to deal damage!

So... I would think this over if i was u.

Apparently YOU cannot read the tooltip on your Lightning Shield. Nowhere does it say that it procs only every 10 seconds. It says every "few" seconds. If you play around with Lightning Shield and actually watch it, you'll see that it procs every 3 seconds or so.

Aye, something like every third second.
At endgame lightning shield is already the Best damage-per-mana spell you got.

with a 100% damage boost it'll be come insane.
+29 spell dmg is 12.4 dmg per shock,
60/5*3*12.4 (minute/shock_cooldown*trinket_cooldown*dmg)
Assuming you're elemental, thats +446 dmg.

As for the lightning shield, 198*3 additional damage resulting in 396.

That is of course assuming you only lightning shield Once.

You would have to shock a whole freaking lot to make this inferior to a +29dmg trinket.
* Thats not to say there arnt better trinkets out there.

You can get hit very commonly. LS procs when you get curse or get AOE or get Cleave, or anything, but the curse or magic is the best.

For example, when Lucifron Does AOE Curse, one lightning shield charge is consumed, and if you have the trinket pushed, Luci gets 500 nature damage (I talented it, so it damages exactly 498, i tested it)

But anyway, this is for PVP, a rogue get summa 1500 damage only from the lightning shield, and, at the fight you use for example 3 shocks, with no crit thats 3000 damage, so you can easily beat a normal rogue with mixed blue-epics gear even if you are resto specced.

Lightning shield procs every other strike.

get hit = nothing
get hit = 2nd orb lost = 480 damage
get hit = nothing
get hit = 3th orb lost = 720 damage

This is ofcourse simply doubled if u have the trinket on, and YES lightningshield is THE best way to defeat rogues, when I fight a rogue I always make sure it stays on between stuns, so that the rogue gets the wrath of my lightning shield + an occasional shock

~720 dmg + earthshock (600dmg)

that times 3 maybe 4 is enough to kill any rogue who is not aq/bwl-pimped

Oh yea and a shield+1h helps ALOT also (uber defence is a rogues nightmare)

The lowdown, folks:

This item comes from the Edge of Madness in Zul'gurub - that is, the place with the skipping imps.

You need 5 items to get this. One is a voodoo doll of your class; these are found in the hoodoo piles scattered around the instance, and aren't soulbound. The other four items are drops from bosses in the Edge of Madness.

To summon those bosses, you need to clear your way into the Edge and use https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=51799 to douse the flame; any alchemist can learn to make it by reading the plaque there.

Dousing the flame will summon one of four bosses. They're on a two-week rotation, and they don't change at maintenance - they change sometime on the weekend, although I'm not sure when. You can see which boss is around when you're there by looking at the signs around the edge.

Each of the four bosses drops 1-2 of the item you need, and they're bop.

So to get this, you need to be present when killing all four bosses, and somehow persuade your raid to give you one of each of the items they drop. It's not easy, and at best it takes a bit over 6 weeks.

As for this charm - I have it, and it's decent but not amazing. The damage is incredible, but it suffers from the same problem as lightning shield - in group pvp, it never hits the person you want it to. Still, it's an iwin button in duels (except against hunters and warlocks, whose pets mop up all the ls damage) and pretty damn nice in any kind of defensive pvp.

EDIT: This item is not a quest reward, and does not require reputation. You just have the five needed items in your inventory and right click the doll to get your trinket.

Use: Reduces the casting time of your Greater Heal spells by 40%, and reduces the mana cost of your healing spells by 5% for 15 seconds.

Compared to any one of these trinkets (Except possibly the hunter one... looks kind of questionable to me), the amount of work put into this trinket, and the fact that it is only truly useful in very specific PVP situations, I, as a level 60 shaman, think it is a waste for a shaman to get this trinket. It takes a minimum of 6 weeks to get this, likely even longer, and it's rather average.

The only real reason I could see a shaman taking this over most of these classes would be an elemental shaman going for the 5-piece set bonus. Extra range ftw.

of course you think its a waste becuse you never seen it in action. with 600 spell power(not easy but it is done before) its the most overpowerd trinket there is. the lighting shield gets a 33% coeffecient bonus. meaning 200 damage extra a hit that puts with the + 15% bonus damage from your enhancement talent puts your lighting shield around 500 damage a hit now double it :p

of course you need to have some very freaky gear to do that but i have seen a shaman movie where his opponents killed themselves because of this trinket

I've wanted this for a while because I'm elemental and I'm piling on spell damage gear. Didn't even dream of breaking 1K LOL (I was thinking it would kick arse with just 600-700 total damage per hit), I tip my hat to the shammy in that video.

blackhand's breadth and hand of justice are far easier to get and much better for enhancement. eye of the beast and any damage trinket for elemental.

in pve, you dont want to get hit, and you definitely dont want to use lightning shield (because if you get hit you caused too much threat , and lightning shield causes even more threat). in pvp, only enhancement shaman should be getting close enough to get hit (elemental should be played like hunters in av and resto have earth shield now) and enhancement shaman have better options.

this trinket blows.

I think it was just crits but how the hell he can trigger 2 lightings per 1 hit (...and how he did this -> 2 lightings hits target but only 1 lighting was spend)?

This thing is probably the best trinket a Shaman could ask for! At level 70, Lightning Shield does 287. So thats 287 + 305 which is 592. And if you have Improved Lightning Shield(+15% dmg) thats 592 x 15 = 8880 then divided by 100 is 88.8. Then 592 + 88.8 = 680.8(681) per Lightning ball. Can easily kill a 70 rogue after those 3 balls! And the cooldown is only 3 minutes! AND it lasts 20 seconds so you can probably fit in 1 or 2 Lightning Shields in there.

this trinket sucks bad... in PvE you dont have much use of it and in PvP i would say it's "OK"
it will give about the same DMGbonus as 1 ES/FS if ALL 3 lightning shield charges goes off... and alot of loopholes for all classes to get around it, a mage would just keep you polyed for the timer to go out, which he would notice you have started when your shield hits him for 400+ dmg, and then he looks at you does a /dance and bandage... a priest can just dispell it, a hunter just runs away for a little while till the effect wears off, every single class can bypass it somehow... also there is still so much better trinkets for PvP imo... i will first of all use my voodoo dolls for the enchants which is 100x better... and if i find more dolls i will give them for free to guildies that need, and after that i will try putting it on AH, if no1 wanna buy it and i somehow have everything i need to create this trinket, then MAYBE i will reconsider getting it

FYI this isn't a passive effect. It is a "use" item, e.g., you have to USE it to get the 20 second buff. I've never timed it, but I'm not sure all 3 charges of a shield can be used within 20 seconds, so you might only get 2 or 1 uses out of it.

3 minute cooldown btw.

Oh. My. God. This trinket is unbelievable, the ultimate thing to be carrying around in PVP. This means that instead of doing 227 dmg (with 2 talent points), i would do 454 EACH ball. Thats a total of 1362 damage as a passive effect. I can't wait!

this trinket doesnt stack with any other damge trinket anymore... but you can use 8/8 Tenstorms + normal lightningshield which will give you a 500*2 each time someone hits you..

Okay. So there are a lot of idiots here who underestimate lightning shield.

Well, I'll try to make this short. I have a moderately high amount of +damage items. plus the zg trinket(or even natrual alignment crystal). plus this = BOMBS WILL BE DROPPED. 700-900 x 3 = 2100-2700 for 370 over the course of 12seconds(more or less)

This is free damage unless you're dispelled or purged. this trinket is honestly grand. =X

Zandalarian Hero Charm is a link to the ZG trinket, it increases your spelldmg UP to 280 for 20 secs (which means, the full effect will be reached if your spell has a 3 sec cast time, if not you will recieve 40% dmg bonus if my memory is serving me correct, maybe even only 30% though?). Now lets start with some simple math... 280 * 0.40 = 112 (lighting shield is instant cast so this is the bonus you will recieve...). And also, unless you are in a noob guild having enhancement shamans, shadowpriests, DPS warriors and so on coming MC you most probably dont have the +dmg for lightning shield talent... however you still CAN have it if you wish to loose 3% melee crit chance (passive, means you gain thís ALL the time and not 20 secs every 3'rd min) but lets say you have... then your lightning orbs would deal 227 dmg each, 227 + 112 = 339, 339*2 = 678*3 = 2034 the DMG boost you would get from this trinket is then ~1000 if all 3 orbs goes off during 20 secs... now if you replace this trinket with MC trinket which gives 175 spelldmg your ligtning shield will take 1227, means you have only GAINED 800 dmg on your 3 ligntning orbs with this trinket compared to epheremal power trinket which drops in MC from magmadar. And then i haven't counted in the dmg bonus you loose from those 3% melee crit chance you will loose from specced imp lightning shield. And also with that trinket you would get a bonus to ALL your spells, not just your lightning shield. a chain lightning would be able to crit just under 2000 WITHOUT you having to spec elemental, if you specced elemental it would crit nearly 3000, and no1 can avoid your chain lighting in the same way they can avoid your lightning orbs... And oh, this trinket also improves your healing so you will have advantage when you heal yourself/others with this to both in PvP AND PvE...

in 20 seconds (since they reworked lightning shield without telling anyone) a lightning shield will hit about 5 times since they changed it that a full lightning shield expands in 12 seconds this sound about right. Now assuming ur right with the 678. 678*5= 3390 in 20 seconds. Thats a formidable amount of damage in my opinion. Not to mention that in this case I think alignment crystal might be better since it increases damage for all 3 ticks equally and only has its cost increased once.

This is pretty oh my god yes :) And you only need neutral reputation at the Zandalar tribe for it, so it's only the goods you need to collect.

Enhancement shaman: 1362 lightning shield damage with the use of this trinket. And that's WITHOUT any +spell dmg equipment, so with some +spelldmg you can get a guaranteed 1400 dmg for 370 mana......

"You'd have rolled a shaman" :)
