Highmaul Preview, Changes to Dungeon Loot, Warlords Tumblr
Blizzard has been doing a ton of creative promotion for Warlords—we’ve had a gigantic Gorehowl
smashing a plaza in Shanghai
and a
taxi in NYC
, as well as
Gazlowe's Realty
, a fake real estate site for Garrisons.
The latest addition is
http://justwarlordthings.tumblr.com/
, a tumblr with funny observations on Warlords and a pastel page.
Upcoming Dungeon Changes and Hotfixes
Blizzard posted several big upcoming changes to dungeons tonight:
Warlords dungeon loot is reverting to Need before Greed instead of personal loot. Queueing with a premade group still allows you to enable the personal loot option.
50 Garrison Resources are awarded for completing your first random Warlords Heroic Dungeon of the day.
There is a hotfix preventing people from queueing in PvP areas to avoid scaling gear up to boost ilvl requirements. However, this incorrectly affected Stormshield and Warspear, so a fix is being looked at.
Guide to Getting the ilvl Requirements for Heroic Dungeons (610) and Molten Core/Highmaul LFR (615)
This guide covers how to hit your ilvl 610 requirement for Heroic Dungeons and the ilvl 615 requirement for Molten Core. It focuses mostly on gear in the ilvl 610-630 range that you can easily get close to the launch of Warlords of Draenor, such as rare spawns, questing, Normal Dungeons, and
Apexis Crystal
gear.
Gear that you can get a little bit later or with more effort, such as Challenge Mode items, fully upgraded crafted gear, Normal Highmaul loot, or loot from ilvl follower missions will not be covered in great detail. For those sources and more, check out our general
Warlords Gearing Guide
.
The other requirement for Heroic Dungeons is
Proving Grounds Silver
. Our
Warlords Proving Grounds Silver guide
covers descriptions of all waves and basic strategies for Tank, Healer, and DPS Silver.
Also, check out our strategies to all dungeons, so you’re prepared when you finally get the item level to queue up!

Garrison Invasions, Free Game Time for Launch, Draenor's Secret Power, Nov 18th Hotfixes
Free Game Time
Blizzard is giving all subscribers with active accounts as of November 14th five free days of game time to make up for launch difficulties.
Blizzard
WoW Community:
I know how much everyone was looking forward to this expansion, and once you were able to get in and start having fun, all the comments I've seen indicate that this is one of our best yet. But the quality of the content does not excuse the subpar launch experience we delivered, and I apologize for that.
The first two days of the expansion were not a great experience, with many of you facing high queues or significant gameplay problems. We worked around the clock to tackle the demand issues and technical challenges, and fortunately things started looking better on Saturday. While millions of you were able to get in and play over the weekend, with many already reaching level 100, others still ran into very lengthy queues, particularly on the highest-population realms.
To help address this, we’ve expanded the new instancing tech we used to improve queues on Saturday and we’re continuing the process of applying that to raise the capacity of all realms again. This will result in approximately double the prelaunch capacity on each realm, which should greatly reduce queue times for most realms if not eliminate queues altogether.
In recognition of the difficulties so many of you ran into when trying to play over the first few days, we're adding five days’ worth of extra time to every subscription in the Americas, Oceania, and Europe that was active as of Friday, November 14. Things are already in a much better place than they were going into the weekend, so I hope you’ll now be able to focus on having a ton of fun with this expansion.
I also hope you'll accept my apology and keep your faith in us. The support voiced by many of you as we worked through the challenges was immensely appreciated. We're extremely grateful to be part of such a passionate community. We love World of Warcraft, and we're very proud of this expansion, so stumbling out of the gates like this was very disappointing for all of us.
On behalf of the World of Warcraft development team, as well as everyone at Blizzard, thank you all again for your patience and understanding.
See you in Draenor.
Sincerely,
J. Allen Brack

Warlords of Draenor Smashed Taxi in Times Square
The Iron Horde has come to Times Square before Warlords of Draenor--they are unimpressed with the taxi service and smashed an iconic yellow cab with Gorehowl.
As Perculia lives very close by, she hopped out to take some pics of this awesome Warlords promo! There are tons of cool details, such as the Warcraft license plate, 11.13.14 as the cab number, Warlords caution tape, Iron Horde logo on the front, smashed advertisement, and "Flat Fare to Draenor" instead of the usual "Flat Fare to JFK."

Live Raid Recap
The live raid took place, not in Siege of Orgrimmar as many were expecting, but in the new Ogre raid, Highmaul. The world's top guild,
Method
, represented the Horde side, and the world's top Alliance guild,
Midwinter
, took them on facing a series of bosses from Highmaul. Method were the defending champions, following a victory against Midwinter in the 2013 Siege of Orgrimmar race.
The race itself saw these top guilds take on the four main bosses,
Imperator Mar'gok
,
Kargath Bladefist
,
Ko'ragh
, and
Twin Ogron
. The race itself was relatively uneventful, as these seasoned guilds dealt with the bosses with ease, although Ko'ragh caused some tension as Method lost a tank to his
Caustic Energy
. Thanks to the new Battle Res system, they were able to pick the tank, played by GM Sco, straight back up, but were down a DPS for some time until they had another res available. Midwinter started off ahead for the first boss, but their tank Sloot revealed that, while trying to sneak past trash with Shroud of Concealment, they accidentally aggroed more mobs, resulting in a slower trash clear than they would have liked.

Warlords of Draenor Early Gearing Guide
This guide provides an overview of how to gear up in Warlords of Draenor! While some ways take longer or require more effort than others, we’ve described all the ways you could reasonably get gear in the first month or so.
We’ve also covered how you can modify/enhance your stats (gems, enchants, consumables) and a table sorting gear by slot and item level.
Warlords Questing (505-610)
As you quest and level up in Warlords of Draenor, you will inevitably get rid of your Siege of Orgrimmar gear. Here are some factors to keep in mind besides the item level:
Trinkets from Siege of Orgrimmar have reduced effectiveness at level 91 and higher, such as
Assurance of Consequence
.
All specs have an “attunement” spell that boosts a specific secondary stat by 5%. Several specs have stat boosts for new stats that are not plentiful on Siege of Orgrimmar gear, such as Holy Priests with
. Consider picking up quest items with this stat.
While quest gear does not come with sockets or set bonuses, it has a small chance to be 10 or 20 item levels higher than the quest log displays.
Warlords of Draenor Dungeon Strategy Guides
Our new series of dungeon guides, written by Wowhead Class Guide writer
Dayani
, outlines strategies and important role-based responsibilities for all dungeon bosses in each Warlords of Draenor instance, as well as some tips on particularly threatening trash mobs.
With strategies, maps, screenshots of important abilities and more, they're designed to get you through the new Normal and Heroic dungeons without a hitch!

Warlords of Draenor Guides to Rare Spawns and Treasures, November 3rd Hotfixes, End of Beta Event
This series of Warlords of Draenor guides takes a look at the rare spawns, treasures, and exploration puzzles in each Warlords of Draenor zone!

They highlight the notable loot in the zone, provides screenshots and 3D models of interesting items, list rares needed for achievements, and link to Wowhead's rare spawn and treasure maps.
Draenor takes many concepts of the

and improves upon them. There are dozens of personal treasure chests and most rare spawns are now personal to the player and appear normal after being looted.
In addition, there's six rare spawns that drops a mount--which is automatically received by every player that participates in the kill!

In Warlords of Draenor, there is a new set of Darkmoon Faire trinkets that start at ilvl 640 and can be upgraded to ilvl 665. This is obtainable after Warlords hits on November 13th, not during the prepatch.
Several old Darkmoon Faire items are now classified as toys:
Flimsy Yellow Balloon

Darkmoon Whistle
,
Moonfang's Paw
,
Moonfang Shroud
.
Do keep in mind that for the 6.0.2 prepatch, some content may be inaccessible--creating Warlords epic trinkets, fighting level 100 mobs. Moonfang and the Darkmoon Rabbit are now level 100. Completing
Brood of Alysrazor
may be difficult as well due to lack of phasing.
Day of the Dead (November 1st - 3rd) Guide for 2014
Day of the Dead

New to 2014 are costumes like
"Night Demon" Contender's Costume
and related achievements such as
Calavera
!
2014 Additions
In 2014, a new achievement series has been added for battling other contenders while in fancy disguises.
