rip blizzard
God I hope they dont win, Microsoft is my only hope of getting rid of Kotick at this point.
> despite a regulatory environment focused on ideologyYeah as opposed to gaming where there's never any kind of ideology at work these days, right?
Dang, looks like the acquisition is going through for sure. When the FTC pretends to care about something, you know it's a done deal.
Woah. I’m surprised a decision was even made to try and combat something as major as this. Fairly surprising
the biggest counter claim proponent to this is Sony, with the Playstation Series.HOW many, console exclusives has Sony had that have never seen the light of Day on a Microsoft sytstem (cant count a PC as a Microsoft system).God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, New Spiderman Series, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Forbidden Wesst, Bloodborn, Last of Us Part 1 & 2, and a whole bunch of others, were playstation exclusives for 1-2 years before they branched out to PC, still some of the 42 playstation exclusives i could easily google, only a handful have made it to rival platforms.why isnt the FTC suing sony?
The only harm is inflated by Google and Sony. FTC was probably paid by them to push this. Otherwise it would have gone through and no gamer would have cared outside of the positives for gaming.
As is ALWAYS the deal with Court battles, the real winners are the Lawyers! And both sides too.
What a waste of US taxpayer money
" citing potential harm to consumers due to concerns of exclusivity. "This is literally the dumbest reason they could've thought off to try and stop the merger xDIf anything the merger will fix the current exclusivity issue there is with blizz/activision being seperate. What a complete joke
If microsoft wont buy Activision then the Chinease will, and i don't think we want that?
FTC loses 90% of their lawsuits, wouldn't really look too much into it, they are the most incompetent trade bureau in the world, even worse than the one the UK.
But they are ok with Musk buying Twitter a much more powerful platform that has bigger and more global impacts. Also it fun to say you’re protecting consumers but allow ridiculous paywall games and loot boxes that unfairly target consumers to roam around unharmed
Where tf were y'all when Disney bought half of the major production companies? I'm all about preventing and breaking up monopolies but I also loathe double standards. Also I selfishly want Microsoft to buy Blizzard and hopefully bring back some quality control and maybe get rid of some of the corrupt asshats that have lined their pockets slowly running the company into the ground.
