The amount of hubris, ego and gall of the commenters here about the Work From Home cancellation. You all sound like the same entitled brats that got fired from Twitter when Musk took over.It is NEVER about whether you know you can effectively work from home, it's whether you can convince your employer that it is more efficient and effective to do so. Otherwise shut your mouth and go into work like everyone else, you are an ADULT not some golden spoon teenager that has everything handed to them.
I can see how WFH is problematic though. From the looks of it WFH requires a boss/manager who can keep track of all the work, all the assignements of each employer, how much they can do.Not all jobs work with a simple 'you get a task, this is yours so if you do it in 4 hours it is done, but if it takes 8 hours then so be it'. When a boss hires someone and pays them for 8 hours they expect 8 hours, which means if they get a task and finish the task in 4 hours then they pick a different task and work the next 4 as well.WFH seems pretty much 'task done, day done'.But the appeal of WFH is also obvious. Sadly people will abuse it like that wonderful poster above bragging of doing one hour's work in a day. It's hilarious how the guy brags about being a parasite, borderline wellfare pro, but it's going to be common enough.WFH will work when the bosses/managers get a handle on it and understand better how to distribute work and keep track of who is performing.
I agree, no more WFH would suck, and personally it would cause me to look for employment elsewhere. But I do not understand people's reactions to any of this. Blizzard is no different than any other tech company out there. I spent 16 years working for a large tech corporation. Nothing mentioned in this article is different than what I have seen and experienced. It must be a generational thing, because I do not understand why this warrants spamming news channels in Discord.
I bet a %^&*load of resumes just went active on indeed lol
ITT: Boomers and people jealous that don't WFH. If all of you had the privilege of WFH, you would not want to return to the office either. Everyone has their own reasons why. For me, it's the extra time and money I save by not having to commute, causes less traffic, better for the environment all around and my dog won't be lonely for 8+ hours.
well back to Activision-Blizzard turning into ^&*! again because of how they threat their Workes..It's like they want to give EA a run for their money as worst company.Time to cancel my 8 subs again, just as things were looking up with Dragonflight.
I guarantee anyone in the comments complaining or making assumptions about WFH has never worked in game development. None of you even understand the workflow or type of attention that is required of day-to-day life for the roles in the industry.
