I would hope this racial will scale with level because at level 70 50 health wont mean anything. heck at level 40 50 health is barely anything.

Heal = (level*15) + 35 + (SP or AP)

At level 80, it heals for 1235 total health (247 every 3 seconds over 15 seconds). Modified by spellpower or attack power (whichever is higher) with a 100% coefficient.

Ok so it's a heal, and it's a racial ability. This has led me to the following questions/speculations:

Does bonus healing for equipment affect it, so a draenei caster gets his +healing on this too?

If a priest/shaman/paladin gets countered on a healing spell, does it lock this as well? Related to that, can a shadowform draenei use his/her racial heal still?

Note: The school of this spell is Holy, so you will not be able to cast it in Shadowform.

This is a great ability for Paladins. It is the only HoT Draenei Paladins have and it might be the only one they will ever get. It is very helpful, if you haven't tried it out already. It cost no mana and the 3 minute cooldown goes by so fast, that sometimes you won't even notice.

More information on Gift of the Naruu:

It gets 100% bonus from healing gear. So if you have +1000 healing , it will tick for around 400, doing about 2k heal over 15 seconds.

It doesn't cost any mana. - It CAN be dispelled. It can be counterspelled (which is a GREAT use for alliance shaman if they wanna use it JUST for it to get counterspelled/kicked as it interrupts a HOLY tree...which will be the only thing interrupted as a shaman)

Gift of the Naaru does not trigger "casting". It can be used to extend mana regeneration through Spirit while healing.

i don't see why you guys should complain about this, it costs no mana, and it gives classes traditionally without healing capability to contribute, it saves food and bandages while soloing, it eases aggro off the other healers in parties.

if it 'sucks' that much then don't use it, simple.

Long CD? Try being a dwarf. I know it's the same time, but losing a heal is a lot less important than not being able to cleanse yourself, especially if you're a rogue stuck with some bastard DoT that's stopping you from re-stealthing or even VANISHING.
Also, this spell is probably most useful for mages, as they have +damage/healing gear which this "spell" (for lack of a better word) benefits from. They too have no normal means with which to heal themselves, other than cracking open a bottle of evian and taking a bite out of a bloomer. They also tend to have less health than hunters and Warriors, making this more efficient for their health on a pure percentage base.
Anyone else get the feeling that this is meant to mirror the Forsaken's "Cannibalise ability"? Another way to lower down-time for none healers?

Me and my WoW obsessed buds have figured this to be generally the best racial skill over all. A heal for Hunters and Warriors is automatic number 1. You can either, heal yourself and save the healers some mana, or if you are a healer, again, save some mana. Or possibly best yet, the Warrior can heal the Priest while the priest sets itself or the Warrior up with PW:S

At level 70, 1085 healed, I don't know if it is every 3 seconds or the whole time. Either way, this is one of the best Racials in the whole game. Especially for Warriors, Mages, and Hunters that do not have heal spells like the rest of the Draenei classes.

The casting time really takes the juice out of it in PvP though, especially since it isn't affected by anti spell pushback talents for healing. Whilst being damaged you're better off doing something else, because by the time you've finished casting it you'll have lost more HP than it grants.

Casting it before entering combat (if you can see or "ambush" your enemy) works though. You might lose 3 out of 5 ticks for simply not being wounded yet but it's a smidgeon of extra HP.

My only problem with this spell is the fact that it is NOT affected by Nature's Swiftness (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=17116). Granted, it might seem a bit OP, but more times than not in raid healing, as i do, it seems to go to waste alot since its easier for me to cast LHW or spam CH. Only time i ever think of casting is if im oom and want to keep someone up to save a wipe or to throw on MT to help his/her healers but since we never have those issues, it is forgotten.

If it were an instant cast, from NS, it would come more in handy for raids. Most times for me taking the time to cast this HoT is time away from CH or LHW which is more efficient for raid healing. A priest will easily beat me to the heal with renew so i don't even bother.

If i were MT/OT healing i can see its necessity.

Best racial ever. It is better than a potion untill about lvl 50 and even beyound lvl 50 it is like half a potion if youre without any spell or heal bonusses. If youre a healer, this is sweel, as you mostly have 1500 healextra in mid-end instances and that means 2500 dmg healed without any mana spend, thats a potion. combining it with a healthstone and a potion would regenerate about 7500 health which is mostly 90% a healer has. The AoE silence and manadrain of the BEs is only in PvP usefull or in normal farming because most mobs and bosses are immune to it.

I've found this ability doesn't really scale well the higher in level you get. After my warrior passed level 60 and began getting a ton of stamina from his new Outland gear, this ability healed me for less than 10% of my health.

It's still nice to have, but I'm no longer able to use it between fights in place of food.

It's a spell that takes 100% of you bonus healing or damage. So it's actually one of the spells that scales the best. It was intended for Shamans not for other classes. The other classes added to Draenei are just there to give you different options and are not ment to be life changing.

at level 29 = 470 healed - 94 every 3 sec for 15 sec
at level 39 = 620 healed - 124 every 3 sec for 15 sec
at level 49 = 770 healed - 154 every 3 sec for 15 sec
at level 59 = 920 healed - 184 every 3 sec for 15 sec
at level 69 = 1070 healed - 214 every 3 sec for 15 sec
at level 70 = 1085 healed - 217 every 3 sec for 15 sec

Facts:
~~- The amount of healing raised per level is 15. Always.~~ (changed)

- No longer scaled with Attack Power/Spell Power.
- No longer a cast, but has been made an instant spell.
- No longer dispellable.
- Can heal ridiculously high amounts with haste stacked.
- Can use to other friendly targets and self (light blue levitating crown will not float ontop of your target, but always atop the caster).
- Affected by Dampen Magic/Amplify Magic.
- Doesn't share global cooldowns.
- Tics can crit.
- While this racial no longer scales with spell power or attack power, it still scales with crit, haste, and buffs/debuffs.
- Hotfixed at some point to only heal a very limited amount on NPCs with large health pools.

Tips:
- Draenei mages can make good use of this using their spell Ice Block after casting GotN (and Lifeblood, if herbalist).
- It is smart for draenei priests to create a macro which casts Renew and GotN, as they do not share cooldowns and can save a tough situation.
- Warlocks can use this ability to stay fit during Life Taps (if a tough situation arises, make a macro which consumes a Healthstone, a potion, casts GotN and fears your target)
- For maximum healing with other classes, use GotN and bandage yourself while the racial healing effect takes place.

Just as brickshot pointed out with Ice Block.

You can use this to a great advantage as a mage, if your low on health you should cast Gift of the Naaru before you Ice Block, That way you can heal over time while being immune to everything.

Nature's Swiftness is both Druid and Shaman spells in this case were talking about Shaman, Maybe double check next time you post

....... Check the next time YOU post. Gift Of The Naaru is a HOLY spell Nature Swiftness only makes NATURE spells instant cast so it wouldn't work becuase Holy Is nowhere near Nature (as i can see)

I should imagine GotN compliments well with Mend Pet for hunters. You can throw on both of these HoTs before a rough encounter where your pet is needing to tank for a bit. While I wouldn't trade Shadowmeld for this on a PVP server, I'd definitely consider going Draenei on a PVE server for this, especially considering the recent spirit change in 2.4 that (accidentally?) nerfed mana regen significantly. A 0 mana heal would be quite welcome.

This ability at low levels almost completely fills your health bar unless you have already begun stacking stamina of course. Which consequently makes its value diminish over time, when you cant buff it with healing bonus. The pvp damage absorption trinkets also prevent cast time from being lost, popping this skill with that can benefit you in most cases. I also feel its worth noting that unless your a warrior 1085 HP is a decent chunk of health for a freebie HoT. This with second wind however and you may just have a good chance as both are about 10% in most cases. Not built for shamans btw, its universal in its value and dependency.

Edit: The little light over the head will always be only on the caster rather than the receiver. Or so i have observed.

Who gets the threat from this heal? The caster (like renew) or the target (like prayer of mending)? I'm guessing it is probably the caster, but if per chance it *is* the target it could have significant strategic value. IE: re-establishing aggro on the tank after a reset.

I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned earlier, but if your a draenei holy priest like I am, you can use renew immediately after casting gift of the naaru, and they do in fact stack. Prayer of mending, coupled with renew, and gift of the naaru can be very handy in boss fights, especially for buying time between other direct heals.

When making a new character I think it's important that the racial ability "stacks" with the class. For example, what use is Shadowmeld to a NightElf Rogue compared to Escape Artist to a Gnome Rogue? I guess that Draenei with Gift of The Naaru will be some of the best healers in the game (but ofc, this ability is useful whatever class it is)!

This spell would be very useful for a mage, if you focus on spell damage, you should have about 5-6k hp, and +500 spell dmg on lvl 70, this would obviously help enourmously then, and a mage can easily find the 1.5 sec to cast this.

This spell is very usefull for healing, it doesnt heal very much but it's healing over time!That means it causes less threat and it also costs 0 mana.It's most usefull for a resto shaman cuz shamans dont have HoT spells which can be a problem for aggro management.

Thats a funny moment. I would say this is hands down the best racial trait for any warriors and hunter healing his or her pet. well second or close to those that can eat the dead.

like all HoT's this has a 100% +healing co-efficient spread over the 15 seconds
so for example
if it heals for 1100 base at 70 that's 220hp / tick

take a healer with about 1500 +healing (lev 70 blues and enchants)
that bumbs it up to 2600hp so 520hp / tick

still not a huge amount at lev 70, but when it's free meh

At lower levels this is very powerful. It can regen your entire health nearly. Too bad it just gets less and less useful as you level. It would have been a bit more viable if it had been instant cast though, being able to cast it on the run.

This is an awesome ability compared to eg. the blood elf racial mana tapping.

At higher lvls, its almost waste of time using the minor mana steal, and running around watching the cooldown.

Ofc the AOE silence can be pretty neat in some cases, but thats it.

The mana tap doesnt stack with gear either, so will become even more useless with kara epics etc.

Activate to heal your target for 35 + 15 per Level over 15 sec - 40 yd range - 1.5 sec cast - 3 min cooldown. (At level 1 it heals 50 health, and 1085 at level 70)

I have a question: Can shadow priests cast this in shadow form? If so, that'd be awesome for saving mana in PvP... easier than coming out of shadow to cast and then reentering shadow form.

if your a survival hunter...50+ and you have readiness (makes all abilities on CD ready to use)... will gift of the naaru be not on CD anymore?...

since its a racial ability and all im not sure

but if it did work.. that would be pretty cool... pet is real low on health... mend pet - gift of naaru - readiness - gift of naaru on yourself =D

it seems like the discussion has strayed in some random direction. IS there something i dont understand abt this ability? Does its healing go up as u lvl? Is that what ppl are talking about when they say coefficient?

I no some abilities in WoW say they are a fixed amt, but are really determined by a formula.

Does the Naaru thing change with level?

Very nice at low levels, and still pretty good at 70. A ~1k heal in a 13k pool might not seem alot for a warrior, but still... The fact that it gains from +healing also makes it good for ex. shammys who dont have any HoTs, and who are vulnerable when CS/silenced.

This is simply win in PVP. As a shaman, in earlier (and even trigger-happy advanced) arena teams, pop this occasionally and watch people interrupt it. It leaves my natures spells (aka my healing ones) 100% open.

If i'm not mistaken, mages typically have a decent bonus to their +heal, as do shadow priests, now i don't play alliance, and this is not a very good ability in pvp, but in pve, having your mages hot up the tank in a raid helps on the mana pool, really effective if the fight isn't a dps race, just one of survival, and since it does factor in +healing this gives paladins the one thing they always wanted : hots. Like i said, not a pvp racial,but it seems like a really really nifty spell in pve situations.

For me, this spell heals 1900 (Mage, 812 spell dmg/healing).
So it pretty much scales with healing, very useful for a mage in all situations as mages get +healing from the spell damage gear.

almost 2000 health healed inside Ice Block is a true lifesaver.

I play a draenei priest and mage. Although it might seem at first that this spell is more useful for non-healers, that's not the case at all. The priest uses it far more often because it's basically like a second renew. Throw this + renew (and maybe a POM) on your target and you can sometimes ignore them for a little bit to heal up your party or raid members. There's no reason not to always use it when you can on people you know will take damage. Free healing is mana saved.

It has helped the mage too, but the problem is that a mage's strength is in DPS, usually it's more utility to keep DPSing and wait for a heal. If you're solo, the cast time and HOT ticks might make it too slow to save you. But if you can get away for a second it can be the difference against an opponent who cannot heal but might outDPS you.
