Best spec for hunters during end-game, if you plan on being a major contributor to rogues and dps warriors. They will love you with a passion for the attack power boost. It's not the most effective leveling method, however, it certainly will save you the gold when it comes time to begin end-game.

This adds major dps to hunters and other ranged people in AV or endgame guilds because of its nice attack power. My bro uses it and i played him MAJOR DIFFERENCE.

Very good gives you a good ranged buff and a good melee buff to your pet,like a second aspect of the hawk,but w/ melee ability! a must have good endgame w/ it being avaliby to all party members.

This is one of the best spells Hunters have now, 100 Attack Power at Rank 3 is equivelant to 100 agility, without the other stats like Crit and Dodge. With the new patch it's very good to go to 41 points and get silencing shot, it's the best build for pvp and pve as of right now.

This spell has now been put in the shadows with the newest patch, beastmastery hunters now have better +Attack Power and Agility talents that are better used talent points. Although, Trueshot aura is still usefull for assisting Rogues and Warriors in raids, accept for a hunter or 2 in a raid, this is NOT the best or primary spec of a raiding Hunter.

Agreed, trueshot aura's dps is falling behind. 100 AP is nice here and there but there's so many better specs you can go and not need trueshot aura at all.

The way I see it, is TSA is a great buff to have, believe me, im speced for it on my hunter, but having other hunters in the raid can be useful too. Not only can getting this buff help out the other members, Imp hunters mark now applys for melee DPS as well, so TSA along with Imp mark can give melee an extra 245 AP, which can be VERY useful for many. Also, the best thing to have though is a hunter with TSA, but also a hunter speced for survival in the same group. This, added with the expose weakness can really buff hunters up in damage. So really when it comes down to it, i think blizzard was going for a reliance system to have a marksman and a survival hunter working with each other to buff one another rather than most raids that would only take one hunter and only if kiting was required =P Since beastmastery stands pretty well by itself, it is basically a PvP spec since pets can really screw up a raid, but TSA combined with other skills can really own in raids in the endgame, and everyone is always asking for it anyway =P Besides that, if you're only planning on bringing 2 hunters anyway, they BOTH dont need to be speced for TSA since it gives the buff to your entire group.

Sadly, I'm afraid that they're right. Trueshot Aura scales poorly with level. At level 60, 100 AP converts to roughly 7.1 DPS (assuming that 14 AP = 1.0 DPS). Ten levels later, at 125 AP, the total conversion is 8.9 DPS. That's a meager 1.8 DPS increase.

As a standalone buff, an 8.9-DPS increase is decent, but in the way of group buffs, it can't hold a candle to Ferocious Inspiration's scaling 3% increase. It only works if your pet lands a crit, and it only lasts for 10 seconds, but there are other factors to take into consideration:

1) With Cobra Reflexes, your pet's attack speed will jump to 1.54. That means a higher frequency of crits.
2) Ferocity is an instant +10% chance to crit for your pet.
3) Serpent's Swiftness adds another +20% attack speed.
4) With Frenzy, that adds yet another +30% attack speed immediately following a crit.

With these in mind, your pet can potentially cause a continuous chain of Ferocious Inspiration procs, thanks to the tremendous increases in attack speed. I don't think the speed bonuses are multiplicative of each other but regardless, the overall increase should be enough to establish that chain.

I would just like to add something in here for those who don't know.

First I would like to say that you don't go MM for Trueshot Aura... As others have said, it is a very weak talent compared to that of other trees. HOWEVER, Expose Weakness/ Ferocious Inspiration are RAID buffs, and Surv/MM and BM/MM are RAID specs. If you go MM it's for PvP, and for PvP, Trueshot Aura is a nice bonus in addition to Silencing Shot and other talents like Imp. Stings, which you obviously need if you have got any clue about how to PvP at all. "Hownow", you are so wrong if you think BM is the PvP spec. BM has the highest theoretical PvE DPS for hunters in the game. Check out Cheeky's Spreadsheet and you'll see.

Secondly, yes, it is a weak talent but for PvP it doesn't hurt when you're speccing MM anyways. If you want to PvE, spec BM and you'll see how great the DPS is. If your pet "screws up your raid" it's your own fault. And besides, a measly 250 AP buff can't compare to the individual DPS you're giving your raid with BM...(Including your ferocious Inspiration, which also is a buff that is on par with expose weakness IMO)

I think this buff is great for running inctances with low lvls like a lvl 70 hunter running some guild mates through WC that gives em +250 AP that 's like triple thri current attack power so they can solo a mob if he get's off you and you don't have to send your pet to get the aggro back

that's what i THINK i'm not sure if it works

TSA - 125 AP (Group) ~ Roughly 8.9 dps (44.5 added group physical dps)
EW - hunter with a base of 600 agi = 150 AP (Raid) ~ 10.7 dps (107 added dps for a 10 man raid // 267.5 added dps for 25 man raid)
FI - at 700 dps ~ 21 dps (Group) (105 added dps to the group)

In the end, using 14 RAP = 1 dps, spec'ing strickly for MM for TSA is a waste of a point. BM hunters with their pet criting almost all of the time (if you have a pet with 1.2 attack speed) and the majority of Kara geared classes dealing 700 dps plus or worth it, only when stacked for raiding. Survival, with your weapon speed/shot cycle, you can avarage 8 shots every 6 seconds (willing blizzard doesn't crash or lag out), with 30% base crit strick chance, you can almost score a crit everytime within those 7 seconds keeping that steady 107 or 267 added dps. The only advantege realy for TSA is that you no longer have to cast it to keep it up, put it up once and you are done till death.

In the end, a Survival spec hunter with all 3 points into EW with Kara equivalent gear, will produce more damage as far as raids goes, TSA truely single person use.
