It's always done additional damage against dazed targets - Blizzard has finally updated the tooltip to reflect just how much damage.

Blizzard has stated that future skill drops will not come from dungeons (or perhaps dungeons only), so hopefully that part of your post is completely wrong as well.

Additionally, Blizzard has also stated that the damage increase against dazed targets does not apply to the piercing howl daze.

If you read the abi spicifications this is a "Ensnared" ability..
So if you have the meta gem or the enchant surefooted.. It also counts against Pircing howl..

This is a useful talent for leveling (it lets you flee a bit more easily); it could be considering an AoE Hamstring (albeit with a shorter duration).

It's very good in PvP, WSG in particular (EotS also comes to mind). Often, a flag carrier will have an entourage of guards, and this can be used to slow the entire group down. Note that this ability will daze all targets nearby, whether there be 10 or 100.

This is also useful for tanking. When you lose threat on a target, sometimes there isn't enough time to switch and Hamstring (if Taunt is on cooldown, for example). This takes out that middle step, and even slows any other mobs in the process.

I do wonder just how much threat this actually causes.

Piercing howl doesn't cause any threat. Demoralizing shout and thunder clap are the aoe skills to use for threat.

I'm pretty sure when a rouge is near, he comes out of stealth and you batter him while he's still dazed.

you get this ability with your 11th point in the Fury tree.

For 6 seconds, ALL enemies, become dazed (movement speed 50%), radius of 8 or 10 yds, not sure. I've only seen it resisted 2 times, both from mobs 3+ lvls higher than me.

-It's a great escape in PvP and PvE.
-You can run through areas populated with mobs much more easily.
-It can act as a Hamstring when tanking and you get a runnner.
-WSG: Keeps the baddies off your flag carrier.

I also found that i'm able to "melee kite" with this ability.. haha. I guess you could do it with Hamstring, too.

A must have.

As everyone has said, this is a very underestimated and underused debuff.

PvP
-unstealths rogues
-makes running away plausible when you are outnumbered
-stops enemy from running away easily
-protects healers

PvE
-debuff to keep social enemies from fleeing to get help
-decent CC
-very good for travelling through areas with aggros on foot before level 40 and not dying to aggro(or before you get a mount)

The real charm of this is that it is instant without a cooldown and it has no max number of targets. This ability makes intimidating shout almost completely worthless (costs more rage, limited number of targets, has a cooldown).

This is pwnsauce in a bag. Not getting it should be considered a crime.

It's one of the best skills available to a warrior.

In PvP:
-Great for getting attention to keep your healer alive
-Good escape tactic from other hostile players
-GREAT for WSG to slow down Flag Carriers pursuers
-Essential to use to close in on pesky kiting *!@#$%^s because of its 10 yrd radius
-Best thing to use when you feel there's a rogue around you or to use against rogues that Vanish midfight
-Good way to limitedly control hostile group movement

In PvE:
-AOE Snare effect; can be used in any direction faced to run away or close in on enemy
-Helps snare running mobs
-Can be used in Defensive Stance
-Helps slightly control multiple mobs
-Zero cooldown AOE Snare effect

Personally, I see this more viable in PvP and it's open to more situations there as well. Overall, it's highly under-rated and not at all a waste of your talent point. You'll use it a lot or at special times if you're smart enough. Keeping your friends close is important but keeping your enemies closer is more crucial ^.^

now when it says 100 mana/energy does it mean that it requires 100 rage? Because if that is the case then no cooldown is needed...cuz 100 rage dosent just happen lol

Edit: and "Dazed" is when they are just that, standing there doing nothing for 6 seconds. Its basically an AoE Stun...I imagine its great for keeping aggro in combo with thunder strike and the debuff shout (forget the name)

So does this affect their attack speed as well? I know movement is slowed but slowing an oponents attack speed by 50% .. woah...that would be too much I guess!

It's not a "stun", it's a "daze". Exactly the same as how a mob dazes you, hitting you in the back...50% movement speed.

Quick answer on this, it is 10 rage, not 100. Also with patch 1.6 you no longer need 5 in demoralizing shout to attain. check here for other posts on it:
