You are supposed to use an Apexis Shard (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32569) on a Apexis Relic, then you click the order the relic shows you, if you manage long enough you will recieve a buff, Apexis Vibrations, that gives 15% increased runspeed. If you manage even longer you will recieve an increased time in the same buff (2h) and it's called Apexis Emanations.

The next quest in the questline is to get an Emanation buff.

Note: Apexis Shards are dropped off the local creatures aswell as Apexis Shard formation that I guess miners will probably be able to detect.

I really didnt get this either, I noticed they are a few of the monuments laid around. It doesnt state wheter U have to do one of them or all of them

Also is there a set pattern ?

Allright, there is a lot of confusion related to this so I will try to explain this quest for you all.

First off, you must gather one Apexis Shard (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32569). Then you need to locate an Apexis Monument. Around this monument, you will find 4 Apexis Relics. Go to one of them and stand on the white globe in the middle of the relic (Under the crystal). This way you will make sure you are in reach of all 4 buttons.

Click the Apexis Relic and you will be asked to use your Apexis Shard. After a few seconds a beam from the relic will hit one of the buttons around it. When the beam has hit a button, you simply push the button it hit.

Next level, the relic will hit two buttons. When that is done, you must push the buttons in the order the relic showed you. Continue this untill the quest is complete. I think it completed for me at level 5.

To make this easier, have a second computer with a text editor. Asign a number for each of the buttons from 1 to 4. I.e.: You get this order: 1, 1, 4, 3, 1, 2. Type this in your text editor while the beam hits. Relax, and push those buttons in WoW while you look at your text editor for the order. If you dont have a secondary computer, try a cell phone. I found it quite easy up to the 8 or 9 colour combos, but by then I had already got both buffs so it was ok.

Oh and if you don't have the Q to get the Emanation buff no need to waste time and get it anyways since you won't get credit for it when you get the Q but you have to do it again.

I used my mobile phone with this quest, and used the following numbers:

Up: 2
Right: 6
Down: 8
Left: 4

This way it is really easy, just focus on your screen and push the buttons on your telephone/calculator. I reached the 10th level by doing this, but then the respawn interrupted me.

Here is how i did it.

I made sure i had the 4 color nodes in a square.

Then i pressed "enter" to get my chat screen up.

Then i put my pinky finger on 1, my ring finger on 2, FU finger on 3 and "point" finger on 4.

Then i just made

top left=1
top right=2
bottom left=3
bottom right=4

Then when it started to get hard, i just typed the numbers as it went along, worked great!

This game is a variant of a handheld game called "Simon Says" The difference is that "Simon Says" would keep the same initial pattern and just add onto the end.

If you liked this, go pick one up from a toy shop. Tons of fun in long car rides and helps your brain :)

I used a peace of paper and wrote the numbers down. I'll probably upgrade to using a calculator to avoid getting my desktop all messy.

Regardless this game is almost impossible without some sort of aide unless you have an unnaturally strong memory.

Basically Simon Says, where the platform you activate has 4 different colors on each of its corners. Watch the lights shine on each color and then click on each color in the same order.

Each time you correctly match one, the next code is 1 color longer, with the 10th (last) being 10 digits long.

After 6 matches you get Apexis Vibrations, 15% run speed for 1 hour. 8 Matches will give you Apexis Emanations, same buff for 1.5hrs. 10 matches gives Apexis Enlightenment, 2hr buff. This buff lasts through death, works in all druid forms including stacking with Cat's 30% speed talent and Flight form. Very handy for the time it takes to get it, less than 5mins.

You can simply open a chat message window inside WoW and type the order in there, then read it when you match the code. If you stand in the middle of the 4 colors you shouldn't need to move at all, just use the mouse to click.

If you have the 2h buff before doing this for some reason, make sure you click it off. When you get to the part where it gives you the small buff, it actually acts like you did the sequence wrong and zaps you and you have to start over.

Don't stop trying if you get one item in the sequence wrong. You'll be punushed 2700 hps for your mistake, but you can still select the correct one and keep going.

So, I started on the long one... and those damn small demon things spawned and poof I had 3 on me.. not so much fun.. Is there a relic anywher WO those spawning?

It seems that this quest is very sensible to latency. For example this afternoon I was having more than 1500 ms and often the ray showed up simultaneously. So don't even try it while you have lag problems, it is just a waste of shards and time.

The trick to Simon Says games such as these is to remember the sequence as a musical tune. The mind is much more adept at remembering the appropriate repetitions in this way. Then you simply have to learn to match each note up with a color/position, so that your fingers fly to the correct button, much like playing an instrument by ear.

Or, you can get Ogri'Lazy. Slackers.

It took me a couple times to figure out what I was doing wrong, but I was going too fast. After you click on a bump, wait for the color zap to hit it before you go onto the next one in the sequence.

Latency breaks this minigame completely - the game will fail to register your clicks and kill you off repeatedly until you quit in disgust. If you have a slightly older computer, the lag renders this game impossible and Ogri'la faction is unobtainable until you get a new computer. If Blizzard had thought this through, they would have added a less hardware-dependent alternative way to open up this chunk of content.

Watch the sequence and then remember it. This is not hard at all and I wonder what all the stratagy is about.
This is too easy to be discussing.
Just say it in your head and repeat 4 seconds later, not hard at all.
Numbers and letters are over complicating the matter.
Use your brain.

For those of you getting worried reading these posts, don't. This quest simply consists of remembering a sequence of 6 colors. You only receive them at a rate of 2 colors per second. Think you can remember in which order 6 colors were flashed over a period of 3 seconds? If not, go ahead and plan on being homeless now. You won't be able to make any job if you have the attention span of a goldfish.

"Uh, yes I'd like 2 burgers, a small fry, a medium co-"
"Slow down! Please wait two seconds in between items!"
"I'm sorry I didn't know I wa-"
"Gaaah! Why can't I just go around stabbing people and taking their money?"

You are all useless, it took me ages to figure out how to do this. But NO! None of you know how to explain yourselves properly.

Now Read this carefully. This Apexis Relic quest is very simple if you know how to play SIMON SAYS

Alright You don't need to walk around to other stands. Choose one of the 4 stands surrounding the middle gem and use 1 Shard. Easily farmed from the Demons around it.

Just Choose one of 2,3,4,5

Put your camera view in the position where you are looking at your head (like the diagram)

Alright use 1 shard on the floating gem(a.k.a the Apexis Gem). The Gem will glow. There should be a question or something asking "Use shard or something i'm ready".

Eventually you'll c coloured lightning bolts shoot out into these little 'Mine-looking' things (2,3,4,5).

You have to write down what order those lightning bolts go in. For exmaple. The gem will shoot out Red (3). Then you have to press on the 'Mine-looking' thing (3) where the red lightning bolt hit.

Your first lightning colour will only shoot out 1nce to give u the idea.

Then 2nd it will do something like "Red, green" then press the same order as the gem told you to. So press Red wait for the ding then Green.
Remember this is an example

You'll get it eventually You'll will hear a 'DING' whenver u hit the right 'Mine-looking' thing.

And so on. The pattern gets hard. But write it down on a piece of paper. or have a friend helping you do it. But if you're intelligent. This was rushed so try understand it. I'll fix is asap. Good luck. Remember it's Simon says

OK - I think I shall take a whack at splaining the thing.

This quest as was mentioned is a sort of "Simon" Knockoff. Simon was a game that I remember from the 80s (1980s that is) that essentially had four colored bars that lit up in random patterns. Once the pattern of lights finished then the human player took a turn to try to make the lights go off in exactly the same sequence that the computer had done earlier. Each time that Simon created a pattern it became increasingly difficult until at some point the average "Joe" would forget the sequence and fail.

Well, this deal is the exact same thing. Note my resolution below:
1) Adjust the camera angle so that you are looking straight down on the aparatus.
2) Take a close look at it - there are 4 little orbs at the edges of the circle and each has a color - once you insert the Apixis Crystal it will be easier to see.
3) Insert the crystal by clicking the center structure and agreeing to use a crystal to start the aparatus.
4) Once you start it QUICKLY note the colors in the four quadrants of the circle.
5) Watch the center piece - a beam will shoot out from it and go to a quadrant - QUICKLY on paper pencil in r (for red), g (for green), y (for yellow) or b (for blue) on yer paper (**note it is easier to write lower case r,g,b or y than to figure what number U R lookin at)

**Example** r r b g y = red red blue green yellow

6) once the sequence stops there will be a chime - simply right click the colors in the sequence that you wrote them down - then be ready for the next sequence

Yes this is goofy, but for those of you that have not played a real RPG the compter game masters tend to be very simplisic in their attempts to challenge players. That or they are old folks like me and are kinda nostalgic for the contivences of their youth - who knows

Know this - you will get to do this allot more later...

I too remember SIMON from the '80s. However, i have been unable to complete the quest (after about 10 shards) because of lag. When the sequence gets 4-6 long, a lag spike inevitably arrives and makes two colors go off simultaneously. Oh, well, time to get FiOS...

Ok Now that your back to grinding out those Crystals, Time to play some Simon.

Thats right Simon, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow game from the late 70's . Its back, Ok first, gather several of those crystals, since that is how you activate, this game. Goto one of the floating white shards, and click on it, you will see the colors described above show up, and colored ray will shoot out of the crystal and go to one of those colors, click on that color, if you get the combination correct. You will continue. Next is two, then three, until you have the correct combination. Then a shard will be attained if you complete the sequence in the correct order, but be aware that if you fail to follow the correct order you will be hit with damage, for failure to comply.

Helpful hints, please please write down the order, dont just try to remember it. rgby

K, Macro time..
Make the following 5x single line macros and assign them to buttons:

/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("--------------- STOP ---------------");
As the sequence plays out, hit the corresponding button and a colored text message will appear in the chat window... When the sequence is done, repeat the sequence on the relic pad. Use the STOP macro to add a break line to distinguish where each sequence ended. Note the last parameter of the AddMessage command (10 here) is the time in seconds when the message will fade away. Also the extra '*' and spaces are optional, just a little more visible.

I have no problem with the color combinations.

but does anyone else have there movement speed cut in half making it impossible to hit all the colors before time runs out.

Works fine in TBC Classic.

When you turn in an apexis shard to activate the game, the white crystal in the middle will send a bolt of light to one of the colors of the 4 buttons on the ground. You can click that same color after it is done to activate the real game.

Simply watch the sequence of colors the bolt of lightning hits, and write down each color on a piece of paper for the sequence and when it's done, right click the colors in the same sequence you just saw. I used R, Y, G, B for the colors to write down the order on my paper.

Chu'a'lor has asked you to return to him at Ogri'la atop the Blade's Edge Mountains after you have gained Apexis Vibrations from an Apexis Relic.

Description

Long ago a now-extinct sect of the arakkoa known as the Apexis lived here. Remnants of their civilization are still present. We call them apexis relics.

What we know about them is that, when properly used, they grant a boon. Each relic presents a colored sequence which, when the crystals are pressed in the correct order, leads through a series of levels, each harder than the last.

An apexis shard is needed to power the relic. Return when you have attained the insight of the apexis vibration.
