You start the quest near 42,45.

1. Use totems on the fire and earth elementals surrounding the immediate area.
2. Use totems on air elementals near Netherwing Fields. 62,57
3. Use totems on water elementals near 47,22

Then you go up north to talk to the NPC. 54,23

He then asks you to use a whistle on whipper tubers. Note: A boar must be alive and near for it to work. They tubers are around 52,20

Then He asks you to destroy some eggs, They are just north of him down the cliff.

Once you have done those two quests he will ask you to find his 3 Sons.

The sons are located...

Artor: 30,50
Will ask you to slay the main mistress which is up the stairs and to the right. Then you will have to grind those demons to find a quest item. Then you will have to escort a NPC up the hill. Once up the hill the NPC will summon a non elite you must kill. Loot that mob and your 1/3rd done.

Gromtor: 45,24
Talk to him and he will ask you to find something. The item you need is locked randomly in a chest that the naga hold. Go kill some naga and they will randomly drop keys. Open the chests and eventually youll get the quest item.

Borak: 47,57
Asks you to do a multitude of things. The confusing ones involve finding an egg. Which there are some located in the bird people village just near the NPC. It will take quite some tries to find the correct one. He should then ask you to bring it to someone in Shattarah.
Also you will end up having to kill some blood elves Eclipse point for armor scraps. Then you will use a Blood ELf disguise to infiltrate the camp. Talk to the big guy at the back of camp. Careful the firehawk beasts see threw the disguise and if you get knocked out of it you must return to the SOn to get a new costume.

Then he will ask you to kill an Elite. This elite is 61 and can be killed with a tank, healer, and dps. Once you kill this Dual Thunderfury badass you fight his pet. Although the item you need is on the guy.

After killing this guy return to the son. Then return with all 3 of the quests completed to the father at 54,23.

He will then tell you to fight the big green golemagg.

Using the stone of damnation head to 45,46 (the place you started with the purple aura). Using the stone at the altar will spawn the boss, and the 3 Sons will fly in to help. Talk to them when ready and they will begin the fight. NOTE: These 3 sons will tank the boss pretty well as long as you dont pull aggro to early. The boss is a straight forward fight. You basically need to do 300k damage in a few minutes before the NPC's die, otherwise you'll end up tanking. Can be done with a decent 5man group.

After you finish this quest go talk to khadgar in Shattrath. He will tell you to talk to the Naaru in the center of Shattrath. This then leads to these three quests:

It seems that if a group kills him and any of the NPCs live, the quest will not work properly until the NPCs despawn. Takes ~10 minutes before they go away, so sit back and find something else to do or chat for a bit if you have several groups attempting him in a row

I'm on that quest with a friend (both lvl 70 hunters) but got server down..(Bs) Just before we could finish and get a group. But its a very nice bow so well do it:) and what key quest i get after compleating this line? to a heroic instance or what?

ok, I don't know if Blizz has changed the fight at all, but my group just attepted this, and we wiped pretty fast. In my expirience, the 2 sons and Torn-heart, die pretty quickly. they didn't seem to be elite anymore either...maybe thats a difference. The two main abilities Cyrukh seems to use is an Infernal Flamestrike which hit for about 1200-1500dmg and his trample ability which hit for around 2500-3500dmg. Both of these figures i've taken from my pally. from what i can tell, the trample hits everyone in melee, and the flame strike is against anyone in combat with him, so it helps to stay spread out. Granted my party wasn't the best make up, but i think a couple of mages/warlocks would be a great help for the fast dps. a couple of fellow guildies, hanging around to help out is never a bad thing either if you can manage it :) I'll try it again soon with a differnet group and post my results.

Cyrukh's primary attacks are physical, meaning they can be mitigated by armor. With 20k armor, he was hitting for between 600 and 1300. He also has a ~1.2k knock away that reduces aggro on the target knocked away, and a ~3k trample that hits anyone in melee range. His final ability is a targeted AoE ignite (fire-based) that ignites an area of ground around a player. The AoE damage can be minimised by spreading out so only one person gets hit at a time, and by moving quickly out of the ignited area when it does hit.

In my experience, having a well-geared tank hold aggro on him is far more reliable than trying to let the NPCs tank him. It was also my experience that losing aggro to a knock-away caused Cyrukh to focus on one of the NPCs rather than my group mates, but don't rely on it!

Just did the entire quest chain in level 68. As Marshkid2 said at the end, you do get a mail from Khadgar after doing this, but when I got to Shattrath, Khadgar only had a white "!" over his head so it seems you have to be 70 or 69 to get the attunement to The Eye in Tempest Keep

It feels like Cyrukh lives forever, he has about 350k hp.
The npc's do tank, and they do it well but don't do too much dps or you will get aggro. this happened to me once.

The npc's died when cyrukh was down to somewhere between 20 and 30%, at that point he still has about 70-100k hp left so it is a good thing if your healer has most of his or her mana left.

Very difficult if you are only 5 people, 2-3 people helped us out a bit.

I instructed the tank (a feral druid) to DPS in bear form and to only taunt if a damage class took aggro. It worked very well and we downed him easily with the suggested five players. I (healer) came out of it with half a mana bar left despite the NPCs dying at about 10%.

One of the easiest quest chains to ever exist! lol

Dunno what the talk about "extremely" long is, unless those that say that have no patience what-so-ever. It is all in one zone, and the only time you need a group is for Ruul and Cyrukh. MAYBE for the Veneratus part as well, but he is non-elite... only problem with Veneratus is that the hunter spirit seems to agro the demons from a good distance away, meaning more adds for you to fight.

Entire quest chain completed in 4 hours total as protection warrior. Thanks to those that helped me with Ruul and Cyrukh. Rest was solo. Now for the 3 Trials of Heroic instances.... hmmmm =)

As of patch 2.1.2 you no longer have to do any quest to be attuned for Serpentshrine Cavern or The Eye. Thus, the only thing required for getting COT attunement would be killing Vashj and Kael'thas.

Take note you are unable to heal the NPC's that help you fight so having a tank and healer for this is a must.

The boss can definitely be 3-manned. We did it with S+S Warrior + Holy Priest + BM Hunter. None of the NPCs died, priest was low on mana but not OOM, hunter was OOM at the end (pet survived), and the warrior was never at the edge of dying.

Just do it as described above, let the NPCs tank for a while, their survivability is very good, and your tank chimes in at your discretion. Avoiding the fire at the last phase of the fight is no problem, simply move out of it.

we did this with 1 shadowpriest, 3 BM hunter, 1 affl lock and 1 demon lock

3 died when he was almost dead, but we got it done and 1 npc lived. So no tank or healer needed if u have the right dps

just finished the entire chain today on my 68 hunter, got the bow and its brilliant. Was using the Hemet gun before it and the bow is just way better....definitely worth the time spent doing the quests :)

all the quests except the ones involving elites were soloable and i managed to rack up a lot of exp while doing all the quests too. its worth the time spent

Decided to two man this to see if I could. I two boxed a Marksman Hunter and a Resto Druid. Hunter is in a mix of S2/S3 Arena gear with a Scorpid pet, Druid in full S3 (1785 healing). Buffed, the scorpid had 10429 armor and it got obliterated really fast. Even if all I did was focus all my effort on the druid spamming heals on it, not being able to move it reliably out of Cyrukh's aoe fire spell doomed it from the start and as such it really seemed like a waste of mana to keep trying so I let it die.

I only lost one of the NPCs however and kinda tanked it with the hunter the rest of the way. Hunter has 7258 armor and was getting meleed for 1.5-2.2k damage, it wasn't pretty but it seems a lot of the major damage comes from his aoe spell that he tosses instead and I could alt tab heal through the damage if I moved the hunter out of the aoe.

The fight only lasted about 5 minutes and it only took about 75% of the druid's mana bar, didn't need to innervate or pot. From what I can tell, seems to me you're better off tanking it yourself and having the NPCs help on the damage than letting the NPCs die. I would have been happy to let the NPCs tank it but they can't be healed so that was out.

I threw the cipher of damnation away (the item itself), because it was in my bag for ages. I killed Cyrukh and completed it but I couldn't deliver the quest because I didn't have the item. Could anybody tell me if I need to abandon and redo the quest, or can I get the cipher from some person?

Two manned with druid/warrior, both in pvp gear. Let the npc's tank until they either die or the warrior picked up aggro, then just spammed heals on him until it went back to the npc's. Easy enough fight, but I died at 5% and had to run back to turn it in :(

I managed to 2-man this quest as a Resto Shaman with a Subtlety Rogue. The trick was to keep the rogue above 50% at all times, since Cyruckh can hit relatively hard. It took a little under five minutes to take him out. The three NPCs that help you, deal quite a bit of damage and heal each other (since you can't heal them). Just keep totems up at all times, and drop your Fire Elemental for a little added DPS.

paladin lock warrior druid priest, it was easy, he didnt go down fast as we had 3 healers and 1 dps, but it was hella easy, tanked hardly ever dropped below 70% hp, and he was only using bc blues.

This quest chain comes to a very hard finisher quest. i had 3 dps 1 tank and a healer - healer took aggro got pwnt and group fell apart. 2nd time i attempted it excellent grp and got him first attempt (though several horde assissted) good luck fun quest chain congratulations when you kill him =)

We did it with 3 dps, healer and tank (me). With my deff gear on he only hits around 500/800 dmg. Just Let priest shield you and try to get range Dps'ers because he has a nasty AoE spell. Toke just 1 min to take him down on first try and he didnt get me under 50% health, piece of cake. And the 2H axe is the mass chain all worth! Good luck with it

Some people here say its not hard to slay the firelord; we found it quite hard! Even with one of the sons tanking, we had a group consisting of:

- 70 hunter
- 70 pala
- me 70 rogue
- 70 druid healing
- 70 warrior tank

And extra's helping outside of the group : 70 mage and 69 tank

So we were 7 and had to try 3 times before we got him. Yes, it was a pick-up group so we didn't know eachother and some were better players then others. Maybe when you are 5 from the same guild and all good players, its easy. But with a pick up group it's definitely not. Not even with 7 lol! SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WELL COMPOSED GROUP AND GET SOME EXTRA PPL TO HELP OUT.

This is the last part of the series

Finished this quest yesterday. The group was like this.
70 warrior
69 feral druid (me)
68 feral druid
70 hunter
69 elemental shaman.

Since the other druid and shaman was dps horny i offred to heal.
Switched to healingear and healed during the battle. Used innervate during the fight since other druid and shaman got some aggro, and they didnt bother to heal up themselfe. Wasnt hard at all, straight forward fight.

Deacent reward for both resto and moonkin druid.
I choosed Staff of the Redeemer since i think its smart to have a backup healingear. You never know when you need it:)

Put it this way, if your group can finish the Zuluhed quest and kill his pit lord as well, then you should have no trouble with this.

NOTE: Once you finish the summoning, Cyrukh will appear. However, he will not aggro. This is not a bug. Wait about a minute, while Onorok and his two remaining sons fly around him and then land beside the altar. To start the actual fight, you will need to talk to Onorok and tell him you are ready.

Strategy:
The key to this fight is having as much DPS in your group as possible, because once the event begins, Onorok and his two sons will do all the tanking for you! Unfortunately you cannot heal them, so you will need to go all-out on the DPS to bring this guy down before Onorok and sons die. If they do end up dieing, as they did when I completed this, no worries - you just need to finish off Cyrukh.
He seems to have a sort of "Flamestrike" attack, which deals fire damage to a random target and then damages everyone in the area around it. As a rogue, I found the damage to be negligible enough to simply get one heal and dps through it.
Personally, I would only recommend having a tank pull aggro once Onorok and sons are down, because Cyrukh hits very hard. It wouldn't be easy for a healer to heal the entire time without going oom.

This is a very tough quest. Tried it with Druid/Shaman/Hunter/Warrior/Warrior and Druid/Shaman/Hunter/Druid/Warior and wiped both times. Didnt have enough guildies logged in to get a better class combo =/. Im gonna run it again tomorrow with a group of 5 off to the side helping out, this is the best way i see doin it. GL all and definitely grats if/when you down him.

For those of you who feel this quest is bugged, yes and no. As some guildies and I discovered just a short while ago, summoning Cyrukh immediately after another group finishes is going to make you stand around and wait longer than needed. You need to wait for Oronok and his sons to despawn from the previous encounter before starting it, or else Cyrukh will spawn but Oronok will not fly in. Clearly he is busy elsewhere. Should you summon Cyrukh and not see the /yell from Oronok and he and sons fly in about a minute later, simply wait for Cyrukh to despawn (5-10 minutes) and do it again. As many have stated and many more probably will, it goes a ton smoother if you have a few extra dps helping out. Just make sure your group gets the claim, maybe being the summoner is enough, don't know, but its not really the kind of fight you wanna have to do twice cuz some "helper" ninja'd him.

Did this with 2 locks, Priest, Hunter and Myself (tank) I got killed almost immediatly because the healer was caught a little of guard, But was soulstoned, so i popped back up and we finished it with ease.

Some nice quest rewards for this quest line, and I am now in possession of an amazing tanking axe which is my replacement to Quel'serar

we had some trouble with this quest...we used the cipher like 10 times he would spawn but nothing happened eventually it worked and I got the 1h axe for fury and tanking when I hit 70 in 1 lvl :D he was kinda tough but we got him good we had...

Takes a while to summon and for the brothers to come, and then when the brothers land, he will aggro soon. We had a Druid tank, Mage DPS, and Pally heals. It has about 366k HP, but the brothers do most of the damage. Druid just tanked away from the brothers so they don't get AoE damage from the Flamestrike which is like the only ability it has. Mage constant DPS Frostbolt spam and Pally just kept heals up.

DId this with me tanking (L 70 feral druid) along with a L 70 priestess, rogue and hunter, and another L 69 hunter. No problems to speak of, though the priest did 90K of healing during the fight :).

A good group can do this well, but don't go in with a weird PUG and expect to succeed. Treat it like a final boss fight in a tough instance.

After looking for a group for several hours to get this guy <Cyrukh the Fire Lord> dead, I decided to give it a couple tries myself solo style. After trying several different combinations of spells/curses, I had all but given up trying to solo this jurk.

I could regularly get him to about 25% health, but was constantly having to heal my VW because of the fire damage.

I took a break from it for about an hour, then remembered i had a different pet that ws IMMUNE to fire damage, The infernal.

On a lark I figured i would SS myself for one last solo attempt at this guy, set up everything I needed with fel armor to max out my DPS, started the quest running and got the dork summoned and told the orcs i was ready. Ran to his spawn point, summoned the infernal and set him to attacking, cursed Cyrukh with weakness and loaded on the Dot's and siphon life. Not during the whole fight did i ever once have to heal the infernal since he resisted ALL the fire based damage thrown at him. I watched as one by one the orc's got beat down and watched as Cyrukh's health dropped bit by bit.

When Cyrukh died, the last orc had but a sliver of life left. I was elated, but then to my abject horror, i realized the quest never updated. I quickly rechecked my quest log, hoping that the entire script had to play out before I got credit. It isn't so. If you manage to kill him solo, the quest WILL NOT UPDATE!

When I did it for my quest completion, we did have a difficult time with it. Just now, though, I (affl. warlock) grouped with a prot warrior, holy priest, and balance druid to 4 man him. Not only did we easily down him, but all 3 of the NPCs lived, too. *flex*

Use the Cipher of Damnation at the Altar of Damnation to summon Cyrukh the Firelord.

Destroy Cyrukh the Firelord and then speak with Earthmender Torlok, also found at the Altar of Damnation.

Description
