Doctor Vomisa P.h.T is at about (37, 63) and you really don't need a group for this quest. All you have to do is talk to him. The next quest he gives you you might need a group for =D

I used the aggro generating attack once, then SPAMMED the healing one as I DPS'd him down.

I died the first time because the mob came before I actually looked at the pet bar, but I got it no problem the second time. As someone else mentioned, my robot's health never got lower than 40%.

I did this solo. As a Disc/ Holy priest in healing gear. That means anyone can do this solo.

Yes, this quest it soloable if you can DPS hard and fast. Tried this quest 3 times on my own and only got it down to 20% health before the big fel reaver berserked and killed the little one. The fourth time I got a 70 mage to help me out and it was cake. So, yeah, soloable but it definitely helps if you have another person.

I don't get a repair button...only a 2 second stun and the 3k-5k damage high threat attack. The first time i tried the quest i got him down to about 30% with the robot tanking and slowly taking damage until he died. The second time i lasted about 15 seconds before the robot berserked and killed my robot and me. As stated above, the fel reaver constantly runs at you making it very hard for a hunter. As BM spec this is made even harder by not having a pet (its replaced by the robot). I am in a mixture of T4/T5 and Kara gear so it really should not be a problem. WHAT THE FLUX?

Very easy quest, all you need to do is DPS, the robot will tank. You also need to spam the heal on the pet bar.

I'm a 70 Feral Druid specced heavily into tanking. Any chance this is soloable?

? You get 34 gold and an item .. for a quest that you cannot fail while soloing ... I dont get it .. waaaaay to easy. Maybe without that repair button it would be a challenge .. but it beats me why >1 person are listed as needed .. let alone 3.

solo'd with ease as a 70 mage
i just used scorch the whole time, whilst getting the scrap reaver to spam heal himself every time i could. it kept aggro whole time after 1 or 2 of the big damage things at the beginning, and never lost more than half health

In fact you should be required to solo this. It's all about threat management and it's simple. Basically he tanks and heals, so you just start the quest and make him do his "threat" attack to open. Then you start DPS and have him do one more threat attack. Now you are golden, just DPS and press his "heal" button each time it comes up. He will just stand there and take the beating and heals, while you DPS down Negatron. Unless you are in some serious +dmg gear, he will always be about 10k more threat than you. If you wind up stealing aggro somehow, then adjust the plan accordingly. He had 1/2 health when I completed the quest doing it this way.

This quest sucks if you're a hunter. Apparently Blizz doesn't feel that hunters should be able to solo group quests like other classes can. This is one of those moronic quests where even if your "pet" has aggro, the mob will continually follow you to keep you in melee range. FD, traps, NOTHING would let me get into shooting range for this quest (there's another, can't remember which one atm). Also, there must be a time limit for burning down this guy, because if you don't, he goes into "God" mode and 1 shots your reaver, then proceeds to go to work on you. If you're not a strong dps class or are range dependent, bring a friend or 2...

As long as you are feral druid this is the easiest quest ever, a level 50 feral druid could solo it no problem. One simple reason, Improved leader of the pack makes your robot heal itself for a ton every time it crits. I beat this solo and my robot still had pretty much full health.

Pretty well geared dps warlock, solo'd first try after reading this thread. He was staying so low on health near the last 40% of the time, getting down to 1% a couple times. I have 800 shadow damage, 9100 health but the guy didnt really touch me, just a few stuns.

If I did it over again, I would spam heal the robot more instead of using the abilities.

11g48s for the first part
23g47s for walking 20 steps to area 52
+a blue plate helm to vendor for 4g41s

In total if you sell the helm, about 40g for a 5 minute quest. Not bad :)

This shouldn't be a group quest. You get a robot that tanks for you, and as long as you keep up good DPS on him, you'll never lose. Quick strategy (First used by nfnnmidata) is to use the robot's 'Smash' ability twice (This will get up his aggro so you don't pull it) and then use his 'Repair' ability whenever you can. DPS hard and don't let up, continue Repairing him, and he'll never die or lose aggro.

Very easy quest. Maybe a bit longish, but that's because you're basically killing a 69 elite by yourself (Albeit without having to take damage from it). Only slight difficulty might be keeping enough mana open, so I'd advise bringing a couple of pots with you. I, as a 67 Warlock, ran out of mana constantly (This was spent on Shadowbolt spamming, as well as occasional redotting), and had to actually use 2 pots and frequent lifetapping to keep up the DPS.

If you have the time, you can solo it easily. The robot will keep his health even with the damage caused by the big guy (Assuming you keep Repairing ever chance you get) so you hardly have to worry about his death, and he can hold his aggro, to say the least.

Very nice exp, very nice gold. A fun quest.

Description

On the outskirts of town to the east are the Proving Grounds. Our top experimentalist, Doctor Vomisa, has been toying with a combination of fel reaver, ethereal, and of course, goblin technologies there.

This is in no small part thanks to your gathering efforts Junior Technician 3rd Grade, <name>!

Go to him; I know that he'll have a solution for saving Area 52.

And since he's likely to use you as a test subject, if I were you, I'd bring some friends along just in case.
