Soloed as a 55 feral druid. She has some nasty spells, DoT plus hex's you and turns you into a frog to wonder around as she beats on you or switches targets, and she heals quite a bit. Just be sure your high enough to deal with it or have some friends with you.

Soloed as a 48 BM hunter with Goblin Engineering. It is highly suggested that the lower level and less people you fight her with, the more crowd control you muster out of what you have.

I initially went all out with Bestial wrath and Blood fury. I gained aggro after my pet was hexxed, caught her in a frost trap, and continued when my pet was active again. By 50% I had to use a superior healing potion. My pet was hexxed again and I held on to her with Aspect of the Monkey. I feigned death and bandaged when the DoT was off of me momentarily and Intimidated her when she got low enough to heal. I finished her off keeping my pet mended and used a Hi-Explosive Bomb the second time she tried healing and finally killed her. I had to eat immediately so the DoT wouldn't kill me, and mend-pet wore off while the DoT killed my pet.

Enjoy being able to summon Gahz'rilla in Zul'Farrak if you brought your Sacred Mallet. Just use it near the altar.

The problem in this fight is her ability to Hex.
Most classes can negate her healing, but her hex spell is instant and lasts around 10seconds.

I tried to solo as a lvl50 feral druid, DPS'n her is easy, but everytime I try to heal she immediately casts hex. I dont know if shes scripted to cast on heal or a timer, but it always got me when I tried to heal.

You can transmute the mallet without killing her.

Since TBC it seems much more difficult to find groups for quests like these.

I solo'd her as a 51 demonology lock using Felguard. The most important trick was to Death Coil her heal. After that she didn't try to heal again!

After the 2.3 patch, Hexx is no longer an elite mob.

Though she still has the same abilities (hexx, heal etc), she now seems to have the same amount of health as a normal level 51 mob, hence, can now be easily soloed by anyone around her level.

Soloed her as a level 47 affliction Warlock (+95 spell damage) with Voidwalker tanking... SL, CoA, Corruption, Immolation and then Drain Life. She hexxed my voidwalker but dropped just before she was about to complete her heal.

If you have no way to break the hex (i.e. no pet)... then you might want to bring some pots with ya. she hexs A LOT and heals generally when she hexs you. very annoying

solo as a lvl 50 dwarf warrior. I didn't realize how much she hexed and it was painful the first time. took me 2 tries. Once I realized she wasn't going to let up I (furry spec) hit her with pummel which stops whatever spell someone is trying to cast and gave me 4 seconds before she could do it again. At the same time I used recklessness and rampage and was able to kill her within those 4 seconds.

Notes for Rogues:
This will be mad easy for you. Now that is isnt elite and there are no followers that you have to sap Hexx will go down in seconds since she is a clothy. First sap her to get a footing. Ambush, SS, and Kidney punch when she is about to cast heal. Dont bother with Eviscerate. Use Kick when needed. Goes down in about 10 seconds. I was a level 47 Rogues when I completed this quest. Get the leg rewards. It kicks butt.

Her chain-hexxing is really ridiculous. I died twice trying to fight her because of the hex-heal-beat on me. The third time I finally got her by pulling out the good ol' Mechanical Greench from Winter Veil and letting him beat on her while I was hexxed.

As lvl 49 mage, my first two tries were quick and bad. The third time I took her out by throwing flame strike at her twice in case she hex'ed me. She didnt, and when she tried to heal once I could counterspell her. Added 2 scorches and she was dead.

As a paladin i found a very good way to complete the mallet quest. Wait till she walks into the cave, use the altar and hearthstone. It 'll save you lots of time and frustration

If it wasn't obvious enough with the above posts, do not under any circumstances try to fight her along with an ad.

As a priest, I was leaving the cave behind where she spawns, and she was standing right at the mouth with one of her guards. So I mind controlled the guard and fought her with it. She got the guard to within an inch of its life before the mind control ran out and the guard ran away in fear.

This caused several more guards to run in, and I was powerless to do anything, because I was hexed from the moment Hex turned her attention to me to when I died.

EASY solo for a 51 Druid.. Mark of the Wild level 6, cat form, pounced on her for the stun effect and tore her to pieces in seconds. She got to try to cast one spell but I don't know what it was b/c she died.. :)

I solo'd her as a 49 warrior the first time because I had the PvP trinket -- she hexed me and started to heal, so I trinketed out, used shield bash to interrupt and was able to burn her down while she was silenced.

My second warrior is an undead, so I didn't farm the PvP trinket while I was in the 30s bracket -- and she is simply impossible! Perhaps after 50 and I have Recklessness she will be killable, but at the moment I'm saving my sanity and giving up. Really annoying too since every other quest in Jintha'alor is easily soloable as a 49 warrior.

Just managed to solo as a 47 shadowpriest. Killed me first try, but got lucky the next time. Just stuck dev. plague and SW:P on her with vampiric embrace and kept my shield up, nuking her if I managed to stay unhexed long enough. Had pvp trinket, didnt help much though.

Not immune to fear, so used that when it was off CD, followed by silence to stop her hexxing.

Took me about 2 minutes to defeat with a tank, and a healer, as long as she's stunned and can't use spells you'll zoom through it, you will ahve alot of trouble if you can't do kind of any stun.

Very easy as an enhancement shaman.

Grounding totem will eat hex, so put lightning shield up, grounding totem down...then wait for grounding totem cooldown to be almost up and then pull with lightning bolt. As soon as she hexes drop another grounding totem...

Earth shock her heal and make sure to keep lightning shield up and you should drop her fast no problem.

Most overpowered mob ever if you have nothing against Hex. As a 49 warrior I got Hex-locked for 40 seconds in a row, barely made it.

Took her out with a level 50 ret paladin. On my first attempt, I (unwisely) did not have any kind of strategy, and as a result, spent about 5 minutes being frogged before finally succumbing.

On the second try, I did this (in this order):

Stun, judge seal of command, consecration, crusader striker (first real use since getting it!), then bubbled. During the bubble, I cast (not judged) seal of the crusader (since the bubble slows weapon attacks) and kept consecration burning, and crusader strike whenever I could.

She ran off at the end (like most trolls) but it just so happened that I was swinging with crusader strike and I managed to get her before she got away. But if she does run, just hit her with Repentence and finish the job.

She's cloth so if you can actually hit her, she dies pretty fast. I was able to do enough damage to kill her before my (12sec) bubble ran out and she never actually hit me or polymorphed me.

How to kill it with sub rogue without losing hp

Did it on lvl 49 btw.

Get her alone , stealth , premeditation. Cheap shot , keep hitting until cheap shot is over. Kidney shot. Hit hit hit. When kidney is about to end , blind her. Recharge your energy , spam some hemorrage and finish her. Be ready to kick if she tries to heal. You wont even get a hex.

This chick guards the altar that is used to change the sacred mallet into the mallet of zul`farrak. The mallet of zul`farrak is used to summon Gahz`rilla at the pool in zul`farrak. This quest is given by the gnome at the race track in thousand needles. First goto hinterlands to the altar of zul and kill the named caster chick at the top of that temple...loot the sacred mallet from her. Then goto the Jiniha`alor temple...or however its spelled...its in the SE part of the zone with lots of elite trolls...just keep going up the stairs and eventually you'll get to her. She is no pushover. She will cast frog on people like its going out of style so its a good idea to have a priest with you to dispell.

Tried to solo her as a level 51 shadow priest, got her to around 30% at best. She is extremely hard to kill because:

* Her polymorph is either instant cast or has a very short cast time. You will probably not be able to interrupt it.
* When you are polymorphed, it will not break from damage, so she will smack you for about 8 seconds while you can do nothing about it, and if you're unlucky she will instantly polymorph you right after it breaks.
* She heals herself (3 sec casting time, easy to interrupt), often when you are poly-ed and can't do anything about it.

Good luck with this. =/ I gave up.

(Fear works, so I imagine it's easy to do as a warlock.)

Just soloed her as a level 49 Priest.

Mind Control is, hands down, one of the best abilities in the game, tbh. Only stealth rivals it in PvE-usefulness.

To do it as priest, you need to get up to the top of the mountain where she is, and then hang on the left side of the cave, somewhat close to the stairs, behind the trees. If you ever aggro too much, run into the water pool (the pool on the left side, not the right side). It'll clear your aggro.

Basically, just Mind Soothe the guard nearest to you when Hexx is walking towards the altar (since she'll aggro you otherwise when you run over to MC Hexx). Once Hexx is at the altar, get just within Mind Control range (but not close enough to aggro her), and Mind Control. The nearest guard will aggro her, and you can use her SW P to aggro the guard you mind-soothed. If you want, you can try and aggro a third guard, but two should be enough as long as Mind Control doesn't break early. If it does break early, run to the leftern pool to clear aggro, then try again.

Wait for them to get her down to less than '10' health (hold mouse over MC'ed mobs' health and it'll only show it on a scale of 1-100. Basically, 10% or less health). Once it's down that low, release the MC, and then hit her with a Mind Blast. She'll go down in one hit, you'll get the exp, then shield and fear if you need to, run up to the leftern pool, and jump in to clear the aggro. Then you can run back down and loot her corpse, then run to the pool again to clear the aggro from the guards. If you need to do the Mallet of ZF, like I did, Mind Control the central guard, have him pull the two side guards and the nearby wolf, and he'll be sure to go down. Then Shield + Fear and run into the pool again to clear aggro, then you can run back and should be able to do the Mallet without anything else aggroing you.

Managed to do The Ancient Egg, Saving Sharpbeak, and got the Mallet of Zul'Farrak, all solo at level 49. <3 Mind Control.

50 Shadow priest soloed.
Trick I used after a few tries, was to deathflop all the way to the alter and die just at the entrance of the cave.
If you go up the right side where that small pond with a staircase is, theres a small mound you can climb that lets you be on TOP of the cave entrance, if you position yourself right, you can just barely be outta aggro range to cast MC.... if not try getting mind soothes off on the guard directly below and the Vile priestess.

Basic tactic, MC priestess, aggro 2 guards (I aggroed the 2 at the cave entrance), Let guards beat on her while you spam off a few SWP spells or wahtever.
Let her get low till like, 1-3%, as soon as that happens, break MC, shield up and jump down fast, fear the guards, try to get off a nuke on her.
If you did it right, you should have feared guards, 1 dead priest which you just ninja looted, and you ready to run deeper into the cave or high tail it outhoping to survive (I was naked doing this so I just ran deeper in to do the ancient egg quest).

Simply put, death flop to top, Get on top of cave, MC priestess, let mobs beat her down, you finish her for loots.

Group quest. I'm impatient decide to solo it.

I'm a 46 discapline priest. 51 mob. Probably not the best idea. It was seriously like a solo raid to me. The only reason I killed her was because I regained mana faster than she could.

I specced to have my power word shield last longer and do 50% damage back. I kept shielding everytime I got out of a hex. So basically her shadow word pain was damaging her, by the time I got out of hex, I would take a couple ticks and some attacks, put up a renew and a new shield and get hexed again. She healed 3 times, so it was a good 10 minutes of fighting. It was actually pretty fun though.

Seriously a second after I looted her. A warlock and a druid killed me. I was relieved that they didn't kill me before she dropped. After that I suicided a few times and looted the egg that was needed for a different quest. Just enough time to loot it before one of the patrols shadow bolted me.

I walked away with a big repair bill, and it took a lot more time than it would with a group, not to mention the more experience you would gain fighting your way there.

i tried to kill her solo as a 51 retri paladin, with ice barb spear and some decent greens. Only real thing i can say about her is... impossible, even though in 2.3 she's now a non-elite, she spams hex its instant cast, and it doesn't break on damage. After trying to keep healed, and deal some damage i realized quickly wasn't happening here is basically what happens.

Fight begins, you judge, HEX! beas on you for 8 seconds, do do do dps h---- nope sorry get 1 judge and HEX!, oh my i'm low on hp! she heals to full. even with bubble used to heal myself she just HEX! soon as your out of it, =P bring a friend no way to solo this unless can continually interupt her. and even then... hex is an instant cast spell. Blizz needs to make this like other polys this was in a word retarded.

I just soloed Vile Priestess Hexx with a level 47 Assassination rogue with Gnomish Engineering. The Priestess is incredibly hard because of her hex spell. After a few unsuccessful tries, I finally decided that the only way I'd win this fight would be to make sure she never did a thing.

Before you start this fight, it's probably a very good idea to make sure you have all your cooldowns ready, and if you have the PvP trinket it can definitely come in handy. It's possible to kill her without clearing the guards, but for most classes you'll probably want to.

I found it best to wait until the Priestess walks to the altar and waits there a moment before fighting her. I used a distract to draw her attention away from my general direction then I sapped her. I pulled out my Gnomish Death Ray and fired. This brought her health down a decent amount, but she wasn't near death yet. I immediately vanished and cheap shotted. If done quickly, you can cheap shot her before she exits combat and regains health. I hit her with a sinister strike and then kidney shotted a moment before the cheap shot ended. I sinister striked again and then used a Thorium Grenade before the Kidney Shot ended. Finally, I used my Cold Blood and backstabbed, and she died never having done a thing.

If you're soloing the Priestess, it's very important you keep her stunned or silenced effectively the whole fight. If you don't have the PvP trinket, a single hex could kill you, as she often takes the time to beat on you or heal herself. Her Shadow Word: Pain hurts but it isn't too deadly. Being an engineer definitely helps in this fight. I expect most people wouldn't be able to solo this, so it's probably best to find someone else willing to kill the Priestess.

Took me three tries as an arms/fury warrior. My advice is to do things that mess up her casting sequence... be sure you charge in to avoid the initial hex and do some damage (the 1 sec stun is enough to reset her timer)... mortal strike in case she tries to heal, then I popped over to berzerker stance and immediately pummeled her... managed to get her low enough to run after 1 hex this way...

Oh, and fyi free action potions don't help against her poly.

...at least she's not elite any more.

I tried soloing her as a 47 prot pala...what happened ? I DIED(i stopped counting after my tenth death.) She is good. So i go to the jintha whatever place, i run through the mobs, and i get to her. She saw me and started attacking. She repeatedly casted "hex" an instant polymorph that also lets her attack and lasts for 10 secs i think. So when she tore away 2k of my 3k health i bubbled and tried to heal. This is where i was shocked. HEX GOES THROUGH THE SHIELD ! and the thing is she repeatedly does it like the effect goes away then exactly when ur back to normal she hexes again. DO NOT try this alone at my lvl. Hope that this shuts up all the noobs that say it's an easy quest. She can heal herself as well.

Solo'd 49 Protection Pally

Was a frog more than i was a pally. Just have to keep up attack on her and judged with seal of justice to keep her from alerting anyone else. Had to use divine protection to cast holy light once, used a mana and a health potion, then right before killing her, had to cast lay on hands.

just soloed hexx as 52 druid. trick, bring shadow protection potion, and drink right before you start fight. also had major firepower to buff starfire and moonfire. prep right before fight, mark of the wild, thorns, and omen of clarity. drank shadow protection, then fairie fired her, rooted her, and insect cloud. used barkskin, also had on board superior elixir of defense. then starfired her twice, moonfire, and reroot. whenever she turns you into frog, morph to bear or cat, and that instantly dispells frog, morph back to druid, keep rerooting and blasting with starfire, and moonfire, innervate when needed, heal when needed, and bam... killed her and got the key, no problem.

Just got her as a 51 Fire Mage so easy with counter spell when she was about to heal and all my instant and semi-instant (scorch)spells. Also helped then I stunned her with my fire blast.

Level 52 mage here.

She kept me polymorphed almost the ENTIRE TIME. I barely had enough time to re-cast Ice Barrier between the time her polymorph wore off and the time she turned me back into a frog.

She CAN'T possibly have been designed to be THIS difficult. I smell a bug.

But soloed as a lvl 52 hunter. She didn't even had time to heal because i coordinated very well BW pet damage with a well placed aimed shot (non crit though). She started to run so i just snared and finished her.

Started with aimed + serpent sting, it's no use trying to make her run out of mana with viper, you'll die before that for sure unless you got some imba shadow res.

Got the key to free the stupid grypphon =)

Use shadow resist aura(+60) and the gear that will give you the most dmg. You should resist all of her hex's and make sure to save your stun untill her hands glow white (This means she is about to heal), if u stop her from healing then she is dead.

i'm not into the whole dominatrix thing, but i was drunk at the time and i wasn't really aware of what i was saying. I used my Famous charm...famous in lands you've not been nor ever will...and said something like..."i think you overcooked the chicken because this *&@% is rock hard..." Apparently she went for that but she locked me up on a wall for a day or near a giant egg...It was unpleasant.

Have tried to kill this biatch 3 times now, she has owned me everytime as a 53 hunter...the problem is she keeps turning me and my pet into a frog. Each time she has killed my pet, I have died instantly. Anybody know why this is?

Well, solo'd her as a 47 Paladin. Basically used bubble, gift of the naruu, holy light, seal of wisdom, blessing of wisdom, and devotion aura to out last her on mana for about a 10 min fight ><. Then I killed the $%^&*

because others say they had major difficulty defeating her, i soloed as a 49 warlock, very easy
she polymorphed me twice but had all aggro on my pet
used siphon life
curse of tongues
corruption
immolate
shadow ward
i kept these updated and gave her a shadow bolt to deal with, death coil then it was all over
dropped sum runecloth and about 12 silver

She is one tuff named we went to the altar for the Mallet of Zul`Farrak after we got the mallat she came at us we thought we could take her, a level 44 paladin 45 hunter 49 paladin and a 47 mage. We got HURT lol she hits hard has some nasty spells and of course since shes a priest class she heals herself and will turn you into a frog all the time.

I took off all my armor on my 49 human priest and corpse ran up to the top of Jintha. Once I got up there I put on all my armor again and went to fight her, intending to solo because none of my guildies were on to help me free Sharpbeak.

Well...it was a bad idea. She put SW:P on me and turned me into a frog. Lather, rinse, repeat. Bam, dead human. I couldn't get a word in edgewise, or a heal, or a shield, or anything at all, before she polymorphed me again. I used desperate prayer and wasted a couple of potions on the fight too. Later I realized with a "duh" that I should probably have spammed mana burn so she wouldn't be able to hex me.

But I didn't, and it made the corpse run totally moot. If I went back up there to my body I'd have to corpse run down again because my hearth was on cooldown, so I force rezzed and /camped :/

I learned a valuable lesson: spec shadow.

this chick has killed me twice so far. i don't like her. i soloed the Sheriff quest and have been taking out her guards one-by-one but she's brutal. she has 8000+hp and 9000+mana. she throws spells and heals left and right.

at one point, she killed my pet then turned me into a frog, and while i was hopping around, she chased after me, beating me with her staff. now that's just cold!

i was able to Scattershot her heal and get her down to 1400hp but i think i'm going need some buffs and shadow protection to finish the job.

Solo'd her as a 59 druid with 1/2 wildheart peices, in bear form the entire time except for when i had to heal. If you're a class that can't stun / silence, (such as me, 1 minute cooldown didn't help much) you need to be able to heal yourself b/c she has a ton of mana and health. her heals take about 6-7% mana and her shadow word takes about 3-4% mana. Her heals give her 40% life back, and she can polymorph you (you dont regain health)

Had to use innervate once..
i have 31 pts in feral and 19 in resto

She dropped some green boots with 11int 10spirit, TOTALLY worth the 5 minute fight >.>

2nd attempt
I pulled her with lightning bolt,
slowed her down with frost shock,
dropped fire nova,
She morphed me,
when i got back up I threw down Searing totem
Hit her with StormStrike, then Earth Shock
She morphed me, but the searing totem finished her off

I did her solo as lvl50 shadow priest.

I came close to her using Mind Soothe, so i could mind control directly the priestess hexx.
It was enough that she and one guard fight each other until mind control ends (around 20%).

After that she got one mind blast, runs away and i bombed her down.
I feared the guard away in meantime and killed him afterwards.

Everything worked great :-)

I'd recommend picking up a Restorative Potion

This was how I managed to solo her on my level 55 combat rogue, after a failed attempt trying to keep her stunned and kick her spell casts.

She patrols between the altar and the entrance of the cave. I killed the add in the cave entrance when she went to the altar, and then took her on alone when she patrolled back.

I used deadly poison (mainhand), and mind numbing poison (offhand) to slow her casts.

I opened with a cheap shot, and then used the restorative potion as soon as she was out of the stun. Used Blade Flurry, and Adrenaline Rush to burn her down.

The restorative potion dispels the hex, and removes the Shadow Word:Pain every 5 seconds for 30 seconds, so you need to take her down before it runs out.

Be aware that she does heal (so keep an interrupt for that) and she runs at low health. I died to an add she pulled when she ran further into the cave, but I had killed her and looted the key already.

In TBC, where Hexx is no longer elite, and a normal mob, It is possible to spend 80% of the fight hexed (does not break on damage) if soloing. I got lucky the first time, and the priestess decided to hex me only twice. But on the way out of the cave behind her, she blocked the way for longer than I had the patience, fought her again... She hex locked and killed me. The mistake I made was squeezing past a patrolling guard in the cave, giving nowhere to run.

Bring a friend or drain her mana to 0 (she has ~4200 mana). Classes with pets, let pet tank and stay >20 yards away if possible. The hex is instant.

Failing that, clear a path away from her if she chain hexes and the fight looks bad.

2023 hardcore update.
As a lvl 49 mage killing her is more or less impossible.
She sheeps whenever she gets even kinda close. Normally you'd just frostbolt and nova when she gets close, but she sheeps you before you get in nova range and she does between 200-400 dmg per hit even when you're sheeped. You're sheeped for almost 10 seconds.
If you have Restorative Potion and all your cd's up you can attempt it and maybe succeed, but I tried it twice and second time I almost died.

As a hardcore mage I cannot recommend attempting killing her.
