This guy isn't as easy as you think. For an ordinary party, in case of a bad pull, this probably is a certain wipe.

I play as a priest and his Harsh Winds ability makes things really difficult. The key is a good pull - otherwise you end up with your warrior tanking the boss and an elite add, and your warlock/mage AoE-ing the non-elite adds, while you are spam healing everybody. It all looks good until the boss casts Harsh Winds - non-magic debuff (so you can't dispel it) that stops you from casting and makes you move very-very slowly (looks like a vertigo, similar animation to windfury/thunderfury proc). Basically, by the time you run out of Harsh Winds, half of your party is going to be dead.

Therefore, try to pull the boss alone! The key is to approach him from the master enchanter's side, clear the main room area. Further into the room you will see a boss in the middle and a pair of steps - one on each side. There will be adds on the right and on the left. DO NOT PULL THE CLOSEST (right side) adds first. There will be an elite add patrolling on the left and he is going to come very close to you - pull him first. Then try to pull more adds from the left. When you are done, pull remaining adds from the right. If you are 39-42 avoid body-pulling otherwise you will get the boss too. If you have a hunter - make him do it, if not make your tank try to pull adds with his ranged weapon. Finally pull the boss in the middle.

When you are versus him alone - he is MUCH easier. You shouldn't have any problems. Just run out of Harsh Winds as fast as possible when he casts them.

Yes, make sure to clear the room completely of the non-elites and make sure to kill the 2 patroling Stone Stewarts (44 elites) or they will make your job of killing him harder, once the room is cleared he will be easy picking by his old lonesome self

This guy is bad news. I tried to solo him with a 70 mage and came off second best.

There seem to be lots of non elites in the room that are all linked, as well as two other elite golems. Everything is immune to a frost mages slow and snare, so theres no CC.
If theres a way to pull the humanoids and other golems without involving the ancient stone keeper I dont know it.

prepare for healers nightmare. this guy has a constant slow/silent that chases you around. its horrible

I found that he shoots out a tornado that, if you stand in it, results in silence.
You can step away from the tornado, and nothing bad will happen. =)

I soloed with 5/8 nightslayer-geared rogue with no problems at all. I use Krol Blade, not a dagger :I

This is a PITA!

59 Crit War and 60 Holy Preist could not defeat this mob.
Pulled room from behind, of corse got agro, no biggy, was able to kill all addes first with no problem, once I focused on the Ancient this spell went off and locked both players down, tried a second run with room all clear now only the Acient to fight, Preist barley with in heal range and she still got locked down by this spell. Gonna try putting her up on that rise coming in from the fron to see if that makes a difference, this guy real tough now due to this spell.

the non-elite dwarfs in the room are agro-tied together in 2 sets the ones on the lower level (5-6)and the ones on the upper level another (5-6).there are also 2 elite stone stewards that path in the room not tied to anything pull the dwarfs and stone steward on the lower level and kill them then pull the ancient stone keeper when he paths close to the edge. If you try to pull the dwarfs behind him on the upper level and clear the room before engaging him they will all agro each other and him.

This guy casts little whirlwinds that slowly move around - if you get stuck in one of them you will be snared. I am not sure what level of movemnt reduction it is but it is pretty high.

He also has an AoE silence spell, so you need to keep your healers/casters at maximum range or they won't be using any of their spells.

Has a lot of hitpoints, but not too bad if you remember to keep your healer out of the way of his silence spell.

It's triggered by aggroing the ancient stone keeper, this is true, but as the later posters observed, it's a series of wind gusts taht travel around the room silencing anyone, soing 20 damage/sec and snaring movement to 15% of normal.

As a boosted character/twink going for loot only, it's possible to get loot from this boss when standing at Obsidian Sentinel's spot. We used master loot, but since xp was recieved rolling should work as well.
