This guy is a staple of all groups going to Gnomer. He drops fairly good items, mostly for casters though.

All 3 rare drops disenchant into Small Glowing Shards (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=11138), so this is an excellent way to farm them.

The Hydrocane is also useful for a non-undead method of being able to deal with being underwater for prolonged periods of time. In addition, the Toxic Revenger and Hydrocane vendor for more than the disenchanted material is worth, so if you are farming for gold sell those items.

Lastly, due to changes in how looting works relative to distance, you WILL need to drop down if you are farming this for a relative lowbie, unless you kill the fallout directly underneath the ledge up top.

I was farming this guy on my rogue (for the dagger I think, but thats irrelevant) and I recall being level 30 something. I don't know if he is this easy for other classes, but as a rogue he is very easy for a boss. If you can solo the mobs around him, he is only a bit harder, so you may be able to try and farm him earlier than you think. Just make sure you clear 2 or 3 mobs near the edge of the big room where he pats so you don't get attacked by patrolling oozes. Almost all forms of CC work on him I think. Stuns, gouge, blind, the works.

Note, this boss is immune to all frost spells and snares. I'm having a tough time getting the hydrocane at lvl 30, with frost specc :(

Once inside the instance, isnt it possible to just fall down to the bottom floor and start hitting the vicious fallouts there?

Hi guys, just thought I'd save people some of the problems I had when I first set out to get my dagger.

I started at level 33, and as a rogue, soloing the Mr. Fallout was not the problem, but rather the quickest routes to him, safest places to pull.

I have gotten so efficient that I can now solo him, get back down to him, pull him, before my evasion timer has reset (5 minutes).

First off, invis to him (duh). Take your first left, following the wall until you get to your 2nd big door. The main thing to watch out for here are the irradiated troggs. If you get into the greenish path they leave behind, it will DoT you, drop your invis. Forget Vanish, as you'll be dotted. Just be careful. They won't see you if you are 30+ ever, and as long as you avoid their trail of green sick, you should be fine.

After the main 2nd door, go through and veer right. You shoudl come to a giant staircase. You can drop invis here and run through the safe gnome area (they won't help you though, remember that). Once through there, stealth up again and veer left into the fall out area. Once in that main room, take a right and hug the wall until you come to basically the northeastern most corner. Here is where you'll fight. You will have to clear zero mobs.

In that corner a) Fallout paths about every 2 mins b) the two mobs on either side of him are too far away to agro with him.

When he paths by, I open up with a cheap shot and get a couple SSs in and then pull him back to the wall. Don't use poison. He isn't affected by it (and every time you reset instance it will be gone, which is annoying). Pop evasion up. Get five combo points and eviscerate. Rinse repeat. At 33 I don't need pots or thistle, but your milage may vary. Make sure to not use kidney punch during Evasion or you are just wasting combo points. I sometimes use Kidney toward the end if he is getting some lucky rolls, but have yet to need a pot.

After he's done, loot your boots or your cane (as if the dagger will drop the first 10 times).

Now you should have a 2nd account, but you don't have to. I do. Makes life easy so I don't have to annoy ppl (plus my wife plays on it). Either way, invite someone to your group. Make them group leader. Disband. Camp. You should get the "You're not in this group's instance message" right as you are logging out. If not, you've done something wrong.

Log back in. You'll be back at the top with about 3.5 minutes left on Evasion. Just enough time to walk back down to Fallout and do it all again!

I can kill him 6 times in a half-hour no problem, but then it tells me I can't do anymore instances for awhile.

It's not bad gold either. Cane sells for 86s, so you end up making on average 2-4g a half-hour while looking for your sweet weapon! Hope it helps!

Oh by the way, I'm not twinked at all (which is why I am camping him). I'd imagine this could be done by a twinked 30 no problem, maybe lower (not sure though).

It was very easy to get the dagger, who knew it was possible to solo this thing at level 32...
Anyway, at the part where he gets closest to the safe room (the one with the vendor and mailbox), so when he gets there, I distract him. Cheap shot, keep him stunlocked. Then, when your energy runs low, there should be a part where there's a little lift up with the ground, gouge him, and run to the other side. He runs slow, so you can regenerate your energy and bandage if needed, and no more mobs to pull. And if you use all your stuns, Cheap shot, gouge (then run to other side for energy regen), save up 5 combo points with all of it, and kidney shot, over and over again. I'm good at doing this, so I can pull this off without using a cooldown, AND still have 3/4 leftover health when I finish. I solod this thing 9 times farming. Here's what I got (listed).

Edit: By the way, a shortcut to get downstairs. From where you get in, jump down into the center part, which is like 5 yards down. Then, run STRAIGHT through the middle, jump off the edge downwards, and if you land on the gear, you're fine. AND NOTE: IF YOU ARE IN COMBAT WHEN YOU GET DOWN TO THE GEAR, YOU MAY HAVE PULLED A MOB BEFORE YOU DROPPED, EITHER VANISH OR WAIT ON THE GEAR UNTIL YOU ARE OUT OF COMBAT

so after spending an hour spamming the major cities for help to farm the first boss in gnomer..i get a whisper from a 52 rogue who said that he soloed at lv 30 and maybe i could do to..i said noway Viscous Fallout is 30 elite that cant bleed..and im a 28 rogue. But with noone responding i decided to try it..brought 1 15 agility pot, greater healing pot, cooked bear meat (+6 sta spirit when well fed) and heavy sharpening stones)..found a nice spot to kill him on orth end of th epit..went in with a ambush then switched to a high end dmg sword and combat rogue fought him to the brink he had 10% life i had..well none..maybe 10 hp? hit ghostly strike hit my eviserate with 5 combo points earned on him..dodged an amzing 3 hits in a row..an dbam..first kill..wiht .5 hp left..TOXIC AVENGER!

that is quite amazing that u got toxic revenger on 1st try, and cool that u dodged 3 in a row (did u use evasion?) im 31 rogue and i NEED this dagger, so where do i find this guy in gnomer? is he before entering instance? i have really bad daggers rite now cuz i used to be sword rogue. and this dagger looks ok for pvp

Following the instructions listed here, I killed Fallout twice and got the dagger on the second try.

Simply stealthed in, got to the edge overlooking the floor below, unstealthed, and jumped onto the silver gear. Waited for combat flag to drop (due to being spotted by mob on overlook when I unstealthed), sat and ate for a minute, then jumped off the gear.

Killed the closest mob to the gear (ooze or slime or something), restealthed and waited for Fallout to come by. His path takes about two minutes. With my back to the outer wall, looking at the silver gear I landed on, he came through and I jumped him. No adds and he was an easy kill.

First time, got the boots (they are BoP). Vendored them, but probably should have offered to let a friend or guildie come get them instead. I then invited a random guildie to join my group, promoted him to leader, left the group, then logged. When I logged back in, I was standing at the instance portal.

Second time, after killing the first ooze I forgot to stealth, so I was spotted by Fallout when he came by and he got first shot. It was still an easy fight - no evasion, no potions. The dagger dropped and is a nice complement to my Claw of the Shadowmancer (both 1.90 speed 27-51 dam). I'd like a slower, heavier mainhand but for now it's a nice upgrade.

The longest part of this whole shebang was flying to IF and running to Gnomer. Both kills and getting the dagger took less than 15 minutes.

Done as lvl 29 priest.
1. Kill the mobs that you can't get around.
2. Jump down on the big gear.
3. Kill one of the slimes that are closest to the wall.
4. Hug the wall.
5. Kill Viscous Fallout.
6. Loot.

Kill how? Well, hide inside your bubble and let SW:P and your wand do the work. Takes some time, but it's safe. Bring pots if it makes you feel better, but I wasn't even close of needing any. He has only 3000 health, and doesn't hit that hard. Your shield should be able to absorb 3-4 hits. That leaves you with 2-3 unshielded hits, which Renew takes care of.

PS! Don't use a nature damage based wand ...

Ive been killing him with some rogues my friend got one but i haven't yet. Only boots and one dagger have dropped out of all the times i was allowed to do it in a row. I think i can manage to solo him tomorrow.

Soloed him at level 29 rogue. Like one said before the longuest part is getting to gnomeregan from IF. I got the boots on the first try, then I got the dagger.

u know wuts BS! i did te place like 6 times and this effer dropped the damn boots everytime! and when i relogged inside the instance it hearthed me to who knows where and then came back and said u have ran too many instances todday... this happen to anyone? i was going for the dagger

Tried to get the hydrocane for the underwater breathing ability. Had a friend willing to run me through. 4 times the boots dropped & the dagger dropped once. On the 6th time that we tried to reset the instance, we received the message about too many instances. Did not get ported anywhere, just could not get into the instance anymore. Will try again another time, but rather painful to get to gnomer as horde (long walk).

Not exactly sure why everyone wants that dagger..personally the cane is the better loot. Underwaterness! (not many things give unlimited underwater ability, diving helmet =eng).
Whereas the dagger has a fairly good chance of proccing, so gouge wnt work that well for you. My rogue is sub specced so he loves backstab, a DoTing weapon would suck as timing a gouge, leap and BS between ticks would be irritating.

I got the cane on a lower lvl toon and want it for my 69 hunter so I am just gonna run in and out until I get it.

I was able to solo him at 27 using evasion and a health pot.

I snuck in the front entrance and went to the right and dropped down.

You have to kill a slime, then eat. After that, VF wanders by and you can pull him.

I recommend bringing plenty of food/bandages, health pots, flash powder, and poison.

Watch out for the Irradiated Troggs, as they can break your stealth.

Edit: Update:
15 kills, 13 Boots, 1 Hydrocane, 1 daggers.

Frustrating.

Ran into instance, jumped down, spammed /target Viscous Fallout macro i made, when targeted send pet, follow pet and kill.

Staff dropped first time, primal farming ez mode now.

I managed to solo this mob with my level 29 twink rogue. After 14 kills, I still don't have the dagger. I ended up with 5 Hydrocanes and 9 Acidic Walkers.

Then I made the really dumb move of getting too close to level 30...and I had to stop killing him so that I wouldn't go over (one kill away). Then I randomly kill some mob near Darkshire, without thinking, and BAM! Now I'm level 30. ><.

I killed him three times earlier - on a 54 warrior - was very easy to take down, first time I got the dagger, second the boots, third the cane. (I was after the cane) So it wasn't to bad...

I managed to score the Toxic Revenger off of a Need roll last night. It is an awesome weapon for my Warlock (I'm specced in Dagger, staff and 1 handed sword just to keep my options open)

Now I'm going to try to farm for the boots and hydrocane :D

I've killed him over 25 times, farming small glowing shards. NEVER have i seen that toxic dagger... now I want it on my rogue and can't get it, so whats the point. I tget the acidic walkers 90% of the time and hydrocane like 2-3 times total now

Solo'd him yesterday at lvl 28 (very well geared) to get the dagger, boots dropped.
Tried him again, boots dropped again.

Got help from a priest friend, which made it easier. Dagger dropped first run, we went in for another, and the boots dropped for him. So we're both happy now.

He's easy to farm tho, you can jump down from the first spot onto one of the bolts sticking out of the ground.
If you're a rogue you can vanish if you should get aggro from some mob on the floor. You can cheap shot him, he's immune to Gouge tho if I remember correctly.

Vishious Fallout is the Bigger of the Irradiated Horror's(Elementals), Can be solo'd with a 28 Rogue using evasion. First drop was Cane, scond & third was Boots, & forth was dagger, reasonably easy for his lvl.

Thanks to the postings on this site I was able to figure out how to get to Viscous Fallout. I went through as a gnome rogue and took some pics along the way. First time I killed him solo at level 31, but I was ready to vanish. Stuck it out and got the Boots. I then went in with a party and made it clear I wanted the Toxic Revenger if it dropped. Sure enough it dropped and I won the Need roll. It was a great party I went in with and we completed a lot of quests along the way. I have soloed it several more times just to get the Boots. Wanting to get the hydrocane and see if I can use it. But the Toxic Revenger is a great dagger for a rogue at my level. Once I figure out how to post a screen shot and my way in, I will post it. Good luck to anyone going for VF. I had to kill one green slime and just sit and wait for VF to roam around. I typed "/tar v" and that singled him out easily. Used cheapshot, sinster strike,ghostly strike,evasion,sprint,sinster strike,sinister strike, potions,eviscerate, healing potion,gouge,bandage, sinister strike and then somewhere along there finished him off. GL and this post was of some help. If you notice anyting I could do better, it would be appreciated.

I went in with another rogue she was at level 33 and I was at level 32, we switch after we killed him the first time. The first run I got the Acidic Walkers and on the second run she got the Toxic Revenger. We plan to try it again soon. You can reset the instance by switching the leader when you exit the portal, you don't have to leave the area complete.

If you're coming to this guy to get one of the other good items he drops, it's probably not worth it...I go through this zone usually at least once a day to try to get the Hydrocane (who wants to rely on underwater breathing potions?) but I keep getting the Acidic Walkers...it's been 2 weeks now...Good luck to those that wanna keep trying.

Farming it as a level 30 rogue.
Each run takes ~10min, I clear a single slime or horror to get space to fight Fallout.

Recount show: 50dps

Character pane:
230 Power
60-82 Damage
716 Armor
1128 Health

Immune to Poisons

While learning the fight I needed to use a Healing Potion, by the 4th or 5th time, I just used Gouge a lot to wait for energy, and use a heavy wool bandage

Drops in order:
2x Hydrocane > 14x Acidic Walkers > 1x Hydrocane > 1x Toxic Revenger

^&*! that #$%^, but at least the running to and from Viscous Fallout is not as bad as Old Serra'kis in BFD.
