If you're looking for a quick way to get to, or back to Tabetha, you can turn left out of Theramore Isle and swim across. There are plenty of places to get out of the water and it cuts about 10 mins off the journey :D

This quest can be completed when you get it at lvl 30. We are on a pvp server so the run down to Shimmering Flats can be a pain. I imagine this part would be easy on a pve ^_^. Basically I just got a Guildy to run me to Tabetha, then down to the flats. After that I teleported back to Ironforge. Picked up the gem needed, flew with my Guildy to south shore for a run through Scarlet Monastery.Teleported back to Iron Forge again, was able to solo collecting the totems from the trolls in southeast Arathi. I used my main to clear the Circle of Outerbinding from its roaming lvl 39 air elementals.(tried running them to the guards, they do not assist for some reason).Back to Iron forge for the scary run back to Tabetha.Fun and well worth it.

One thing I'd like to point out is that there is a graveyard right next to her (at least for Horde). I was preparing for a long walk to turn in the level 30 mage quest when I got ganked a bit south down the road from where you enter Dustwallow Marsh from The Barrens. When I released I just let the Spirit Healer resurrect me right next to her. Saved me a lot of time I reckon.

Just start at tloc 40,38 then go Straight South!

You will runt smack into Tabetha's house only going through lvl 38 monsters. Look for her house, fenced in shack really.
This way u won't have to go through the elite Dragons.

Or for u non-cosmos. Go up the path from Theramore (north west) till u come to Fork in Road. Its got horde marker for Stonemaul, Barrens & brackenwal village. You go Straight South from there through swamp.

I am lvl 30 and I am working on the quests that she says I need to do for her to make my wand. However, it seems like she also gives some other mage quests that you can't get until later levels. Are these also required to get the wand, or is it only Items of Power and Hidden Secrets (which I have already turned into Rituals of Power)?

the easiest way for alliance is to swim west from theramore and find her that way. Then you dont have to worry about the dragonmurks and whatever might be luring if you take the road.

Hey I died trying to kill the thing and now in my quest log it just says quest failed and that i have 0/1 cleansed orbs. I try talking to Tabetha and she wont summon the beast again. Do I need to go to desolace and get Another Orb from one of the Warlocks down south? If so that really sucks! I abandoned the quest cause there was nothing I could do with it i thought...then realised I might need to get another orb from desolace. Do I need to get the quest again from Ratchet before going to desolace to get another orb? this sux!

i soloed the demon at lvl 36, used voidwalker (sacrifice), healthstone and bandage, greater healing potion, died used soulstone, came back and killed him. He does not get full health if you use soulstone right away.

I soloed him at 37 without issue. I used my imp for maximum burn and the extra stam.

Start off with SB, and have the imp start simultaneously. After that drop all 3 instant curses, then Fear/SB him and keep all 3 instants up. There are no other mobs here that will social aggro on him--so just make sure you don't loose to many to him running out of range, and you don't body pull any of the surrounding critters.

The only other caveat is that my gear is all Shadow Wrath.

I'm a 36 mage and I never had a single issue in the swamp. I just avoided most of the monsters, the ones that did attack I killed (with ease). I went down to the dragonmurk, looked around a bit, then headed northeast and found her shack.

No issues at all.

She is definitely at the co-ords of 46,57 inside the hut. However, I found no issues with the beasts. As a Warrior, no demons appeared and I left with 6050 XP for handing the Tiara in. Cheers for the co-ords guys :-).

if you do this FYI there are lots of NPC's On the way to the small cabin.

just mount and you will be fine. also there are alot of swamps so try to dodge them.

Tabetha is directly north (when you look at the map) of Stonemaul Ruins. She is on an small island that's a backwards "c" or funky pac-man shape. She is located on "The Quagmire"......surrounded by lvl 38-41 creatures....crocs....mostly. By the way, I was returning the Zul'Farak quest "Tiara of the Deep". As a reward you get a wand and some plate shoulder pads plus 65s. Good luck questing. (Naltor)

Lol i would reccomend maybe 36 as a minimum lvl cuz there are lvl 38-40 creatures EVERYWHERE around her shack! And to confirm is is on the funky pac-man shaped isle on the bottom of the mouth shape :P

i swam west of theramore isle, using a swim speed potion so as too bypass the damage of lvl 42 lochness-monster-looking things. found a place i could climb onto the bank (53,47), and ran west for a bit, dodging the higher lvls, and using mana shield and a healing potion. stopped for food breaks. its impossible to not aggro anything higher than you, theyre too close together. just prepare for the damage and dont be stupid and youll make it to tabatha fine.

Word of warning..... do not accidentally abandon the quest right in front of her....you'll lose the bramble and have to go back, get more totem things and charge it again....

easiest way for alliance. that i'f found is to swim across the bay watching out for the big sea monster things, theres an enbankment more or less directly across the water that allows access to the other side. so just go up there kinda go sw for a couple and the shacks right there. you'll prolly die a couple but shrug. it takes like 5 mins.. first time i went there I was 30. and i just went again to finish my mage quest at 33 so it's not too bad. use the tloc
and the water. unless yer horde.. then you gotta walk from the village :P harhar. 3njoy

When you first arrive in the marsh from the barrens, take the southern fork in the road. Then when you get to where the road ends, go east and you shouldn't have to go thorugh quite as many beasts, they're all 38-39 so you can blink and frostnova and polymorph your way there.

Tabetha is an absolute bear to get to, particularly when you first start looking for her. When you first start coming here, you'll likely be at least 2-3 levels below the weakest mobs. As a mage, that means lots of resists if you fight your way across the zone.

If you do fight, know that almost all of these mobs are single pulls. That said, most of them also have short patrol ranges. Given your lower level, you don't have to get too close to aggro one of these mobs. Consequently, your ability to kite a mob is limited since you stand a very good chance of aggroing a second mob when you run from the first. Even standing still, you always risk having a second mob patrol near enough to be aggroed into joining the fight.

Running across the zone is all but impossible in your low 30s. The population density is just enough so that the maximum aggro range of each mob comes very close to overlapping that of its neighbors. Without extreme precision, a mage in the low 30s is virtually guaranteed to aggro to be unable to thread his/her way between two mobs without aggroing at least one.

That guarantee is further enhanced by the terrain. Dustwallow is a mixture of small hills, brush, and trees intercut with small waterways. As you move through the Marsh, the ever-changing elevation will typically cause your view angle to be pointed in a direction that isn't optimal for maximum visibility. All the foliage will further interrupt your site. Since dodging the mobs requires maximum visibility, you'll find yourself constantly readjusting your viewing angle. Even with that, it's still very easy to stumble across a mob that was hidden behind a hill or a tree.

Even 40s with mounts find this place annoying. All the waterways means finding places narrow enough to jump without getting dismounted.

Navigation is also an issue. You can't see far into the distance and all of this terrain looks a lot like everything else. Since you're typically running from one mob while also trying not to run smack into another mob, you're constantly changing direction as well. Under such circumstances, it's difficult to track on your minimap where you are, particularly if you don't have a gold dot for finding Tabetha. (I think this isn't such a problem after the March content patch.)

So what is a low level 30 to do? Either wait till you're closer to 40 or grit your teeth and tough it out.

If you tough it out, here's the quickest path. Don't take the road. It may be a tad safer, but it takes forever to run all that way. Moreover, on a PvP server, the road takes you pretty close to Horde territory.

Instead, take the N exit from Theramore and head W W across the bay as soon as you leave the city. You'll find plenty of the big lobsters and nessies in the bay, but you can swim around most and Blink/Frost Nova your way from the rest.

If you aim for due W of where the "Isle" in "Theramore Isle" appears on your map, you should be able to find a place where you can climb the cliffs on the W side of the bay. Before you climb to the top, buff up and have your health potions at the ready.

Once you hit the top of the cliff, expect to have a mob on your tail the entire way to Tabetha. Most will be raptors, spiders, and oozes. As you cross the waterways, you might also pick up a croc or one of the swamp thing elementals. Keep moving at all times. You'll pick up other mobs as you go, so best you can hope for is to not run right into the other mobs but to make them come to you to get in their first couple hits.

Keep Mana Shield up at all times because each mob will hit you at least a 2-3 times. Use Blink judiciously. It's best to save it for when you've been dazed or slowed. Frost Nova is best reserved for when you are forced to run directly at or very close to a mob.

Tabetha's house is somewhat clear of the mobs, though you might still have a mob chase you into the house. If one does, you're probably better off fighting it. You probably couldn't get far enough to break aggro on it without aggroing something else. Even if you die, at least you can res in peace.

She is very very hard to find without a
coordinates add-on of some kind. Such
as CT-Mods and/or Cosmos. Google for
either you can find them.

I leveled up my first character without
any add-ons. Also remember trying to
find Tabetha and it taking so long I got
extremely frustrated- even using the excellent
directions below.

Finally broke down and started using a coordinates
add-on while taking another toon to 60. It
makes questing twice as fast. Especially for
mobs such as Tabetha. If you never tried one
now may be a good time to find one. You'll be
saying to yourself- I wish I had got this a
long time ago.

Against all concieveable odds, Aegwynn survived yet again. Declared by Theramore's surgeons to "have the constitution of an elf" now serves as Lady Jaina's chamberlain and advisor, under an assumed name, to avoid any unwanted guests.

To find her without using coordinates, follow the road past the Barrens turnoff south through the marsh until you get to the Den of Flame area. The road will take a sharp bend to the south towards The Stonemaul Ruins. Just after going around the bend, go off of the Northeast side of the road to the creek. (If you get to Stonemaul you went too far.) On the minimap you should see three islands to the Northeast, a large one on the left and two smaller ones on the right. Go over the two smaller ones but stay to the left near the creek. You should be in the Quagmire area now. The third island that you come to going to the Northeast will be the one with Tabetha on it. Go up the small hill in front of you. There should be a tent to your right and if you look to the Northeast, you should be able to see Tabetha's house. If not, go a little further to the Northeast. This area is full of 37-39 stuff, so be prepared.

I think Tabetha is actually Magna Aegwynn, mother of Medivh the mage.

I just died on purpose. The graveyard is right next to Tabetha's cottage, so then I just rezed right next to her. I think that's the easiest way to complete the quest when you're only a level 31 mage :]

As soon as level 36 try and get to her as the quests she gives reward you with this awesome wand Icefury Wand or a similar wand for your favorite spec.

Her name reminds me of Bewitched's Samantha's daughter, Tabitha.

Just follow the road from Theramore to the Barrens then south. Then when the road around 40,62 and then north east toward 85,28 and by level 36ish you should easily get to her. The mobs are 36-39 on you way.

It is also possible to swim to her from Theramore and then a shorter walk but there are some level 42 mobs to escape on your path.
