WOWZORS! I tamed one of these beauties outside of Orgrimmar while I was hunting around for copper mines. It comes standard with Charge rank 1 which charges the target and stuns it for 1 sec, and increases the boars attack power by 60 for the next hit. And Gore rank 2 which is an instant attack that does 6-10 damage and has a 50% chance to do double damage. He can easily kill other mobs his level right out of the box with no training with out me lifting a finger. He tanks and holds aggro better, and also does more damage, than the Raptor and Cat that I had. He has slightly less health and armor than the Crockolisk I had tamed, but he holds aggro much better and his damage is so much higher that he ends up taking less damage because the battles are much shorter. Another bonus with Charge is it takes a lot less time for your pet to get to your target, so there is considerably less time sitting around waiting for your pet to start attacking. Added bonus...He eats EVERYTHING! No more time grinding meat for my raptor, literally anything I pick up that is edible this pig will eat it. In addition to this level 13 Orc hunter that I am referring to, I also have a 39 Dreanei Hunter and I will definitely be getting a boar for him as well.

This boar is amazing, it has great damage, good tanking and his charger>growl will allow you to basically go ALL OUT when you're a lower level. I must say, I <3 him.

Whenever low-level Horde hunters ask in chat what pet they should start out with, I always suggest taking a boar until they decide what pet they want to run with for the long term. And then I tell them to get their butts to Durotar and tame this one. (Alliance: your equivalent is Loch Modan's Mountain Boar. Same level, same stats, same skills, just brown instead of black.)

Especially for a newbie hunter, either new to hunters or new to the whole game, this pet will do a lot to make those difficult teen levels easier. With Charge amplifying the pet's Growl, this fine fellow will do a better job of pinning down prey than anything else at its level.

i say for beginers these pigs handle the job get quests done in no time and easy diet

i tamed this at level 11.great pet comes with gore and charge then i trained it bite and growl. this thing is great at level 15 it survived fight with three level 15 loins with only one heal pet thrown in while i was shooting. this thing has lost agro maybe once or twice.

The original 4 corrupted mobs each have a different effect that lasts 5 minutes or in the case of the int lost 5 seconds.

This one lowers int by 5

I have done my best to provide Map Mouseovers for each and every beast, wherever possible!
Unfortunately some do not yet have maps, but these will automatically be added to this post when they're added to the NPC's page.

Although the corrupted mobs use their special attacks in wild form, they do NOT carry over as trainable Pet abilities for Hunters, at least as of 1.13.5. If you tame them, they come with just the basic abilities for their pet family.
