She hit the main tank of Nihilum for 7000 damage. I guess like most bosses the strategy is more important then boss HP, once you get your tacs right she'll go down and you will live. However, this boss seems to be very bugged and 'nearly impossible' according to Nihilum. Their latest news reports they got her down to 25%.

Sad to report this, but some guilds are killing her with a cheat.

A trick which involves a "pre-fight" to get four players stationed at the four pillars with four cores, then logging out with the cores. Then the raid wipes and starts over. As soon as they get into phase two, the four cheaters log in again, and use the cores, making the phase two, and the whole battle, very easy.

truely sad, but some guilds choose this for free epics.. just like another chess event... :(

Interesting Lore factoid: There were 7 vials of eternity. 3 were used to create the new well of eternity. 1 was given to Kael'thas, and another given to Lady Vashj. This leaves 2 vials unaccounted for. It is possible that the other 2 vials have been used to re-energize the sunwell which was sucked dry of its energies when Arthas revived Kel'thuzad.

If you're tasked with side coverage, note that on-kill trinkets can trigger off the deaths of the Enchanted/Tainted Water Elementals. For example, the Skyguard Silver Cross and, even better, the Power-Infused Mushroom can be utilized well in this encounter, and considering phase 2 is the biggest bump for most guilds, it may well be worth taking up a trinket slot.

Does anyone know if Main looting the cores still works? cause im watching a video where they changed the item type im guessing to common (IE white) and whenever they killed one, it would auto loot it to a person and they just use it right next to it... If somone has tryed this and it hasn't worked, please say. If it does work and no one uses it, Theres the idea :)

Little bit of lore. Lady Vashj, like the other Naga, were one highborn (elfs) who were corrupted by the demon lord Sargeras to open a portal in the Well of Eternity, when the Well was destroyed the entire place where the Well was sunk into the ocean, the Well's waters were so powerful, when it was destroyed, it split apart Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms and in the middle causing a big never ending storm called the Maelstorm. (The big swerly whirlpool in the middle of the Azeroth WoW map). Insted of drowning the highborn who sunk with the Well were turned into Naga. Which stayed in the water for 10,000 years until summoned by Illidan. She later found Prince Kael'thas and recruted him to serve Illidan. She and Kael helped Illidan attempt to destroy the Lich King at his base in Northrend. She resides in Coilfang's Serpent Shrine Cavern to attempt to build a third well of eternity for Illidan.

Lady Vasj was th most favoured handmaid of Queen Azshara, Queen and the most beautiful of Night Elves. If you read the War of the Ancients you will find that that sundering of the Well of eternity and summoning of Sargeras and the burning legion to azeroth was made under influence by the old gods as a plot to make them escape their prison (enprisoned by the titans after loosing the war against them).
This was ultimately stoped by (nameing the most importat character)

Rhonin: A human mage who will probably be the leader of the Kirin Tor in Northrend. You can war Rhonins robe in wow I think

Malfurion Stormrage: Illidans twinbrother and the first druid. Trained by the demigod Cenarius. He can now be found in the Emerald Dream (possibly a future expansion for wow)

Illidan Stormrage: I think you know this guy but at this time he was also a student of cenarius, just not as dedicated as Malfurion and therefor not as succesful wich made Illidan turn back to the arcane magics of the Nightelf wich he ultimately mastered almost to perfection. Illidans bigest problem was probably that he would do anything the destroy the burning legion wich ultimately led to his downfall.

Tyrande Whisperwind: Childhood friend and beloved by the Stormrage twins. The competition for her love was ultimately won by Malfurion wich could also ben a reason for Illidans future deeds. Tyrande is now the highpriestess of the Sisters of Elune and can be found in Darnassus.

Krasus. The humanoid form of the red Dragon Korialstrasz, the mate of the red dragon aspect Alexstrazsa. His fang can be looted as a weapon in Wow.

Broxigar: An Orc Warrior who sacrificed himself entering the portal to the demonworld giveing his companions time to shut down the portal, he even succeeded in injure Sargeras with his Mighty Axe, crafted by Malfurion and the demigod Cenarius. You can loot his ring in Wow and hopefully his Axe will turn up at some point in the future ^^

When the Well Collapsed, the old gods whispered to Azsara and offered to save her life. She accepted and those the naga were created. Azsara now is the leader of the Naga and are rumored to be the final boss of the Maelstorm, A raid instance in WotLK.

Took all this from my head so I could have forgoten about someone but I´m sure people can fill out the missing information. =)

IMO Vashj IS the hardest boss in Serpent Shrine Cavern; however, almost all high-end guild agrees that Kael'thas is indeed harder. However, I'm not here to discuss how difficult she is, but to help you down her.

Vashj has 3 phases, the first of which is very simple, and the other two are somewhat organization fights / dps races.

First phase:
While she does hit hard in melee, her ranged shots are just as deadly, make sure that your tank runs in first, and keeps on being highest on aggro before he can actually come into melee range of her and hit her (as you may guess, misdirection works great, and she is also tauntable). She, then, has 3 special abilities in phase 1.

Entangling Roots: she'll from time to time cast entangling roots on everyone within melee range (10-15 yrds, also ticks for 500 dmg), and will proceed to run out of the tank's range. While she will only shoot the person highest on aggro (the tank), since the tank won't be able to hit her, this could be a place where the ranged dps gets aggro and dies. To counter this ability, have a Blessing of Freedom rotation from your paladins on your main tank.

Static Charge: The most dangerous ability in the first phase. She'll from time to time randomly cast this on a person, that person will take around 1.5k worth of damage a tick and also damage everybody around him/her just as much (15 yrds). It lasts for a long time, so make sure the person with the charge runs out and gets topped off.

Multishot: Once in a while (mostly after she casts entangling roots), she'll multishot around 5 people for 5-6k worth of damage. It is nothing to worry too much about. However, if a person is low on health with static charge, he/she could be one shotted with this ability, so pay attention to people low on health.

Her first phase ends when she reaches 70% hp. She'll then move to the center of her platform and become invulnerable to all damage / effects. 4 pylons pop up around her and starts channeling her. This is arguably the hardest phase of this fight.

The objective of this phase is to turn off these 4 pylons with "Tainted Cores." Each core turns off a pylon, and drops 5% of her hp. Once all pylons are gone, she'll start phase 3 at 50% health.

In this second phase, she has only 1 ability. She'll constantly cast a 2 second cast chain lightning at 5 random people, causing 2.5k damage initially. However, a LOT of adds will be popping up, of which there are 4 varieties.

Enchanted Water Elementals: These don't deal damage and only have 6k hp. However, they will spawn ALL AROUND the platforms, starting at the bottom of the stairs, and they'll gradually crawl towards Vashj. If ONE reaches her, Vashj will grow and gain 5% more damage (stacking), a buff that lasts through the rest of this encounter. No more than 2 should ever buff her. We take 5 ranged dpsers and spread them around the bottom of the platforms (N, E, W, SW, SE), with 4 healers healing them at the top of the steps. Notice that they'll spawn faster and faster as this phase goes on.

Elite Naga Add: every 50 seconds, one of these will spawn. They have decent amounts of health, and hit fairly hard. Since they all spawn randomly at the bottom of the stairs, have a paladin in the middle put on Righteous Fury to ensure that the side healers don't get killed. Once they reach the middle of the platform, they should be taken down. Note that they have a cleave, so all melee should dps behind them.

Elite Strider Add: The most dangerous of these adds. These spawn every minute, and they will one-shot anything non-plate. They also have an aoe fear. Therefore, these are not tankable and should be kited by a ranged (we use a shaman, a hunter, or a lock with Curse of Exhaustion). Almost all movement impairing effects work on these, so paladins take turns stunning them. Also, since these fear, make sure that the kiter kites them around the outer circle at the top of the platform, avoiding the dpsers in the middle and healers on the outside. Only ranged dps should ever engage these.

Tainted Water Elementals: The key to this phase. These spawn every minute randomly at the bottom of the steps and STAY there. They'll despawn if not killed within a short amount of time, and respawn around 10 seconds later at another location. If taken down, these drop the precious Tainted Cores that are needed to take the pylons down. Make sure the looting system is on FREE FOR ALL. Also, the person with the core cannot move, so the dps looting it should pass it to the healer on top, and the healer should throw it to a person near the pylons (not the kiter, mind you). RAID COMMUNICATION IS KEY. Whenever a tainted elemental spawns, all the ranged dps that can see it should drop everything he/she is doing and take it down ASAP. Have melee / ranged dps in the middle help take down the enchanted water elementals that will invariably get loose from that direction. Also communicate where the Tainted Core is going (it's a throwable object with a range). Missing a core could mean the difference between making it into phase 3 or wiping, for you will get overrun with adds.

To make sure the dpsers don't get overrun by the elementals, we have all the melee and the rest of the ranged in the middle at the top of the platform. ALL dps in the middle will burn down the melee elite naga add, and then the ranged will move on to the strider add, while the melee helps kill all the elementals that get loose.

If you manage to turn off all the pylons, congratulations, for now it's the home stretch.

All the adds that are up when she goes into phase 3 will still be up. Take them down, and blow all your cooldowns to take Vashj from 50% to 0. She retains all her phase 1 abilities with a single twist. Spore bats will start spawning in the air, slowly at first, and then they will pick up speed. These bats spit a cloud of poison onto the ground with a 10 yrd range that ticks for 2k. Keep Vashj on the move, and have all your hunters kill / fear the spore bats until there are too many up (around 2 minutes into phase 3). These bats are somewhat of an enrage timer, for after around 4 minutes into phase 3, you'll get overwhelmed with poison clouds.

The most trouble we've ever had is with phase 2. Phase 1 is almost a tank and spank, and almost everytime we get her to phase 3 we down her, so spend most of your time perfecting phase 2.

Change Common to Orcish if you are horde.

EVERYONE should have this on their hotbar just in case a nub throws you the core or you are assigned to be in the chain to get it to the top.

Nothing irritates me more than when people wipe us because they can't find the core in their bags. Just use a macro and forget digging in your bags to use the core!

The pylons have the little cog wheel on them so when you're close enough with the core just right click one to disable it.

Oh and please....PLEASE! Do NOT throw the core to the kiter that is on the striders...

PS - Tained Core has to be capitalized. Not sure if it's a bug or what but if it's not capitalized in the macro it won't work.

The problem in this fight is coordination. My guild simply have the 3-4 healers assigned to midzone to hug the generators, and as soon as we learned how to position our raid as to ensure that theres always someone to throw it to this boss was cake... no deaths for weeks now

Oh and bring a good warrior to tank the striders. If tank knows what he's doing the Striders' fear aint really a problem

I wonder why neither Vashj nor Kael drops a tank item (a part from the T5 token which doesn't really counts since everyone gets one)... Nothing at all. Zip. Nada.

Probably the same reason why no other boss in SSC and TK drop a tank chest or shoulder piece (other than T5), while all other classes get theirs...

Stayed there to find Lady Vashj and more... found out i walked all around just for nothing when i saw Leo the blind.
However my guild told me where she was and i got there, got around, and then spent 20 min of retarded small steps in stealth heading for her... i made alot of tapes and prints here and i headed for see if she could be pickpocketed...
Finnaly i were in sap range and took a small more step (not specced for either improved stealth, or longer sap range, so do this just on lvl 70) and when i taped and finnaly pressed pickpocket button, nothing happend and i saw that annoying red text "No pockets to pick" went sad... had hope for some gold but expected me either Immune or Resist and a sure death. ill add some pictures however and this is NOT test server, its Al Akir

I misclicked first and garotted her, she hitted me once and i vanished with 12hp left!

i decided to nuke and i did... started with garotte and hasted with evasion+AR and survived for 12 seconds melee range and i accually was close 98% 0.0 trying to get the video out somewhere but guess i wont... trying to get it on my guilds homepage ^^

personally i hate macros because i just dont have space on my bars for macros my guild just makes sure everyone has their first bag with 4 or 5 empty slots and have ur bag open you will see it instantly so pretty easy if you dont want to make a macro

okay so apperantly, lady vashj, in the serpent shrine cavern, drops the helm of the vanquished champion, which can be used to trade to Kelare or Veynna Dawnstar in Sattrath City to get the death mantle helm.. did i get that all right?

Vashj is the final boss of serpent shrine cavern, an extremely bugged encounter in it's current state (the reason she isn't being farmed by top guilds as of yet). She is also definitely not located in stormwind. :p

Interesting that you're going to end up killing every major Burning Legion guy from WC3: Kael, Vashj, Magtheridon, Kil'jaeden, Illidan...

Then in Northrend expansion youll probably be killing Anub'Arak, Arthas, etc... I suppose the third expansion will be everyone getting along singing songs around the campfire

this boss is impossible to kill even the guild that downed her got lucky when she bugged out and lost health and even so she spawned instantly after she died. the MC makes any1 who gets it a beast so even if if a naked preist was MC they could 1 shot a dps squishy or even worse heal Vashj for alot /shiver.

Hmm... Kil'jaeden created Lich King from Ner'zhul(or smthing like that)and he is second strongest creature from Burning League, after Sargeras, who is strongest creature in universe. So, if Lich king, which is stronger than Illidan, which was created by Burning legion leader right hand, it means that Illidan cant be approx. that strong, and since Lady Vashj is only Illidans Right hand...dunno.

Just for those who don't know, in Patch 2.1 Vashj will drop enough Vials so that everyone on that quest can get one. So, have fun killing her again for your Hyjal attunement!
And Vashj's Persuasion ability has been removed.

No matter what you guys think, Illidan is much stronger than Magtheridon. Illidan defeated Magtheridon with ease, as stated by Blizzard "he proved no match for the wielder of the Twin Blades of Azzinoth (Illidan)." The only reason he didn't completely destroy Magtheridon is because the Orcs wanted to use his blood in the same way they used the demon Mannoroth's blood: to create an army of super powerful fel orcs.

There is really no chart to explain how powerful each character is. True, some characters are obviously much stronger than others, but for example, Arthas beating illidan once does not neccesarily mean he can do it every match.
