These are the easiest to solo as a mage. They will not attempt to melee you, they will just stand at range and use a lightning breath and a poison attack, which you will mostly resist at level 70. They respawn extremely slowly however so if you stick to these only it will take several trips to collect the 20 tenderloins for the quest. The actual drop rate is much lower than the listed 48%.

These big L61-62 fliers are the only mobs in the interior of Feralas's southern "Isle of Dread." Besides their basic attack they have Lightning Breath and Corrosive Venom Spit. I would definitely bring a friend or a tank pet.

we just killed around 10 of these chimaerok mobs.
they either drop nothing or they drop brilliant scales or forked tongues.
no money, nothing...
killing them is a waste of tim and money...

Managed to solo one of these with my mostly-Tier-2 paladin, with a 1H and JoW, though it took about 10 minutes to do and I didn't get any meat :/

I searched in Petopia and these creatures can not be tamed. There along the lines of dragon-kin so There none tamable.

Dropped nothing but a Forked Tongue.
This guy is not worth the hard work to kill him, seems not to have a good item drop rate.

Lvl 60 Shammy & A Lvl 60 Mage took one of these down for fun. Was easier than I would have thought.

They do have alot of HP, I healed (restoration spec'd Shammy) while the mage bombarded him. I did drop a Mana Tide Totem when the mage was out of mana, he used a Mana Pot, and a Mana Crystal as well. But he did all the work and killed him.

Dropped a Brilliant Scale and I skinned Rugged Leather from it.

These giants cast a corrosive venom spit, that does initial Nature damage (around 250-300 damage), lowers your armor, and then does damage over time, and to top it off this poison stacks for more armor reduction and more damage over time. at rank 1 of their poison, its about 70 nature damage inflicted every 3 seconds, 150 damage every 3 seconds at rank 2. at rank 1, it's rougly a 25% armor reduction.

they also do the lightning breath attack, which hits for around 400 damage, and can bounce to multiple targets.

good news is the corrosive venom spit is a poison, so it can be dispelled, and it only lasts about 5 seconds otherwise.

their last attack is a swoop, which is a roughly 3 second stun.

And FYI, they are Immune to Fear Beast.

You can solo this type with massive nature resist equipment and a mana ruby for me playing mage. The other 2 are pretty much impossible to solo.

I knwo warlocks/mages can kill them solo too, and it should be posible for other classes too
