Patch 5.4 Hotfixes for September 16th: Garrosh Tokens and Vale Cooking Recipes
Tonight's round of Patch 5.4 hotfixes has some good news for raiders and chefs. New cooking recipes from
Vale of Eternal Blossoms
will now be able to be looted by chefs above skill level 525:
Recipe: Mango Ice
,
Recipe: Farmer's Delight
,
Recipe: Stuffed Lushrooms
,
Recipe: Fluffy Silkfeather Omelet
,
Recipe: Spiced Blossom Soup
,
Recipe: Seasoned Pomfruit Slices
. These recipes give +300 to a stat and are made with reagents looted from mobs in the Vale.
As we covered in our
5.4 gear guide
, Garrosh drops special tokens like
Essence of the Cursed Conqueror
that can be turned into armor tier for any slot. Guilds who killed him early in the week on 25-player mode only got one special token, and it was later hotfixed to give guilds 3 tokens. Guilds who killed Garrosh before the hotfix will be given two tokens to distribute to players by a GM.

Harvest Festival 2013
The
Harvest Festival
is a small celebration to honor the fallen heroes of the Horde and Alliance. This year it runs from September 13th through the 20th, transforming the outside of Orgrimmar and Ironforge into feasts. With all the destruction and rebellion in Patch 5.4, now is a good time to reflect on the past and honor heroes.
Festival Foods
Festive tables full with food can be found outside of Orgrimmar and Ironforge, from which players can have their fill of food and drink as they celebrate the memory of their faction's fallen champions. You can hold up to 20 of each of these foods, and they do not expire, so they make great meals for alts!

Honoring a Hero
There is only one short quest chain available during the Harvest Festival, with both Horde and Alliance versions, and you pick it right up where the festival is taking place. For this quest, you are sent to show respect to one of your faction's most honored heroes--Grom Hellscream for members of the Horde and Uther Lightbringer for members of the Alliance. Patch 5.4 Hotfixes for September 13th: Flex Raids and SoO Bosses
In tonight's round of hotfixes, there are many
Siege of Orgrimmar
boss tweaks, as well as a big quality-of-life change for Flex raiding. The raid leader's Flex progress now determines the lockout, as opposed to the least-progressed member. When killing a boss multiple times in Flex Mode per week, you won't get personal loot from the boss each time, but you will earn
Valor Points
and can use bonus rolls.
Explorers on the
Timeless Isle
will be happy to know that the
Fire Watcher
title will now require 0
Bloody Coin
, down from 10000.

Blizzard posted another round of hotfixes tonight--many of which will be welcome to

inside one of Kukuru's chests has been decreased. As many of you pointed out in the comments, this was a much better way to get

than spending 0

at the vendor.

Preparing for Patch 5.4 Guide: Gear Changes, Removed Content, and More!
Patch 5.4 is a week away, so today we're taking a look at things you can do to prepare for the patch--from saving your
Valor Points
to finishing up Battlefield Barrens! Next week we will publish our Patch 5.4 guide to all the new content, but for now we're just focusing on the changes that can impact how you play the week before.

Existing Gear Changes
In Patch 5.4, all reputation gear tied to MoP factions (except for
Shado-Pan Assault
) will cost
Justice Points
instead of
Valor Points
and the reputation requirements will be lifted--so if you hate grinding reps and are short on VP, just wait a week to buy those items.
Shado-Pan Assault
gear will still cost
Valor Points
in 5.4, but heavily discounted, so it's probably best to wait and buy those items when the patch hits. Shoulders are unaffected, as they cost gold.
Item upgrades aren't going away in 5.4--if you're not sure what to do this week, upgrade your best pieces with Valor this week, and buy the cheaper

Capes are the bane of transmogrification. There's so many options, they're never designed to match specific tier, and some of them cut into your cool weapons. Although there's a "show/hide cloak" option, hiding it is the easy way out.
With this guide, you can find the perfect cape to match the removed ones from Trial of the Grand Crusader, a crafted cape that's identical to a raid epic you've never seen, a completely unique model from a quest reward, or even a blue-quality version of your favorite tattered grey cape.
