i generally play a spellsword type of class. curved scimitar in one hand, augmented with a fiery spell, and another quick spell ready to cast should the need arise.
typically i find myself playing caster classes, more particularly, summoning type classes, like warlocks. i prefer to be the man behind the curtain, letting my minions do the dirty work while i stand from afar lobbing bolts of death. Some of my fondest memories are of the necromancer in Diablo. though, admittedly, there are times when i like to pick up a sword and get a little bloody ;)

I find myself always playing either the monk-like melee fighters, or classes in general connected to nature. My mains in WoW are druid and shaman (I have 2 of each) but I'll probably be switching to Monk once MoP drops.
I love playing tank-type classes, better if they hit hard too. Protecting my allies successfuly is one of the most accomplishing things for me to do in an RPG. That feel when you have to sacrifice yourself to save someone is great... As my idol M. Ali said, "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!" :)
I have always tried to live by the motto "Nuke'm till they glow" mages forever!
I usually prefer melee classes, usually a warrior if possible. However I had a play of the rogue playstyle in the Amalur demo and I definetely took a shining to it. So I think thats the first type of character I'll play.
I'm a tank at heart, so I always end up playing the warrior or paladin type class.
Im not sure which class/role I usually play the most, because I like to explore all the alternatives. Though, the rogue usually has its way with me, and I almost every time end up creating a rogue/ranger-ish character as my first in a new game. I dont really know why, but it is probably the way these classes are very independent and mysterious. The rogue-class appeals to me because of the sneaking and the way they are able to hide in shadows, dealing critical strikes to your opponent without them even realizing you were there, waiting and taking your time to deliver the fatal blow when the opportunity opens. The ranger-class also appeals to me, because it has a lot of the same abilities to go incognito, especially in the wilderness, which is a part of the enviroment of RPGs I always explore first, because, lets be honest, the woods are the most amazing zones in RPGs. ALWAYS. Tracking, trapping, scouting the wilderness, its just GREAT.
Heavy DPS with big axe to swing.
Ranged or mage, I like being far away from enemies and probably support my teammates as healer if possible.
Tanks, nothing quite as satisfying as bashing somethings face in with a shield!
I like to pick the most versatile class in game. For ex. WoW - Druid, which has alot of different abilities. If you have many different skills to use, you can do many different funny things with a class, you have many options when defending, attacking or just hunting : )
I usually play a Rogue like character with daggers and some kinda stealth to go in for the silent kill!
I am partial to playing more of a solo character usually with a bow
