My favorite memory is of meeting some of my best friends over six years ago -- people I've now had the pleasure of meeting dozens of time IRL and now call my best friends. :)
My favorite moment was killing Nefarian for the first time, back in Vanilla. It felt huge, especially since Vael had given us so much trouble.
My best moment the day i was in my first 25 heroic raid and killed the last boss it was so awesome to think back that i was a level 1 who make 5 damage per hit to killing the entire "staff" of ulduar.

My favourite moment in wow was when my guild and I took down Kologarn after 3-4 weeks of wipeing on him. We then proceeded to make it all the way to mimrion that night.
When my guild finally killed Arthas. We have been a guild since before the original Zul'Gurub, but, other than 10/20 mans, we never been able to participate fully in progression content until WotLK-ToC. Now, ToC was our first real raid that we completed, but taking out Arthas, the end expansion boss, was just that much more awesome of an event.Especially since we did it enough several weeks to spare before the Shattering, and we managed to take out 7/12 Hard modes as well.
My favorite memory in WoW was definitely when I got invited to my first successful raid. Shortly after Wrath of the Lich King was released (about a week) I was in Wintergrasp. My faction had successfully defended WG and everyone was getting ready to leave or do VoA. I was in the middle of hearthing when some guy in WG whispered me and asked me if I wanted to do "OS." I had no idea what OS was and I said "I don't know anything about that place. I don't know if I should go..." But the kind stranger who whispered me said "Naw it'll be fun. You can come!" So I did. And after an hour or so I finally downed my first raid boss in WoW. And then I went raid crazy and got my friends into it (previously we all just did arenas and battlegrounds) and had ourselves a great experience. Good times...
I actually have two fond memories but one of them was more of a fail on the other person's end.The first memory from World of Warcraft was way back when I was still around level 30. I was playing WoW while Skyping with a friend and he suggested that we raid the Barrens and destroy Crossroads. By the time I had reached the docks of Ratchet, he had already grown tired of waiting and began to toy with the vendors on the south side of Crossroads. Before I reached Crossroads, I heard my friend scream in fear and agony. Confused at what had happened, I ran up to the side of the south gate of Crossroads. The next thing I knew, I witnessed my friend sprinting out of Crossroads as he screamed across Skype, only to be followed by several of the merchants and a dozen or so guards. The sight of this event crossing my path about 10 yards ahead of me was probably the funniest moment in my time playing WoW (He didn't make it btw). The second memory was of a certain individual who happened to baffle me on more then one occasion. He was known as Ooges, a mighty paladin who always seemed to know the in's and out's of the game. He would always reach the level cap long before anyone else and managed to obtain some of the best gear as well. My friends and I would gladly invite him to dungeons and raids, unaware of what was to come. Despite being able to achieve so many levels and such great gear, Ooges was the most horrible player I have seen in my life. On several occasions, he would run into a mob of enemies (as a dps) and instead of fighting them off, he would stand their passively until he had lost 90% of his health before he would make any action. This of course also sent the mobs after our squishiest members once Ooges was out of commission. The only time I could recollect him doing anything worse was when one of my friends told me that he had been levelling his paladin as holy up until the level 70 cap before he realized that he was able to heal. It's still a wonder how he was able to obtain so much with so little skill. There are countless occasions where he has displayed such events that we have actually come to use his name as a term best used to describe the event of someone or something that was a "total fail" or was generally hilarious.
My favourite memories from WoW definitely have to be the moments my friend and I had when we still played together few years ago. We made tons of charachters with strange names and met the strangest people ever, but one memory still rules over them all. We put up strange costumes and ran from Ashenvale to Barrens, got caught between a massive raid in Astranaar, and after finally getting to Barrens we climbed to the highest mountain we found and stayed there yelling strange things, talking about things that had and didn't have a thing to do with the game. As I'm writing this down it doesn't sound nearly as fun as it was, but it has become one of my greatest memories of the game. I miss the time when we were still so close and actually didn't feel awkward around each other without alcohol involved. And I certainly I wish I still had so much fun while playing.
My favorite memory was when I was first learning to play. I was a Tauren and my quests were taking me to Thunder Bluff. I saw the zeppelin for the first time and I didn't know where it went. Feeling adventurous i asked an npc that told me it went to Orgrimmar, the fabled capital. I hopped on and left my little green valley for the first time. I saw beautiful savannahs and terrifying raptors. Then in my excitement i fell off the side and landed on the ground below. I was lost in a land of beasts that could kill me in a few quick blows. I looked on my map to find the Capital. I pressed on while evading raptors and lions. As i got close the landscape changed from golden grassland to dusty read stone. I was in a foreign land. Then in the distance i could see a wall. The wall of a massive city. I had found my way. My new home, in Orgrimmar.
My favorite WoW memory is from back when I was still a nooby little Undead Warlock back in the good ole days. I remember running around Tirisfal Glades with my roommates, and being totally in awe of the high level characters and their super cool mounts -- wondering what it will be like to finally achieve that milestone; a MOUNT! The first time I made it to Undercity I couldn't get over how cool it was. And I will admit it, I died to the elevator boss, and more than once! Coming across the Fight Club in the War Quarter blew my mind, I thought it was so awesome that they put little nods like that in the game. Ahhhh nostalgia ... This memory means a lot to me because it's what sucked me into WoW. It wasn't the raids or the amazing gear you could obtain that impressed me the most about this game. It was how much fun you could have doing nothing at all.
my favorite wow moment was the very first time i ever logged in. picking a race and class. thinking that this was going to be what i made it. the world was all at my feet, waiting for me to step on it. adventure awaits
I had been farming the Raven Lord mount from Heroic Sethekk Halls for months and was on the verge of giving up. I usually have pretty terrible luck even with items that have a high drop rate, so it was starting to seem hopeless. I was waiting for a friend to pick me up to go to my birthday dinner and thought I'd log in real quick to give it one last shot. To my intense surprise, it dropped. Definitely my favorite present that year.
Killing Ragnaros in Vanilla-WoW the first time. All the crazy and joyfull screams of 40 people in Teamspeak where memorable!
