I think no LFG is fine if they have retails group finder tool.. As long as finding groups isn't hours of spamming trade chat you wont miss LFG. The group finder on retail is excellent, the one found in TBC is utter garbage and they knew it was garbage but made it that way because of too much push for nochanges..This is one of those situations that I think the halfway point between those that want LFG and those that don't is a good tool for group making (which retail has). For classic players who haven't used that version of tool, it's hard to really see why this would be good enough, but trust me it would be.If they do bend and go the LFG route though, it the very minimum it needs to be same realm. Once cross realm was introduced is when accountability was lost. Players stoped caring about their play, their attitude or anything in dungeons because they queued with people they'd never see again. This is what ruined LFG. But one must also realize that without cross realm, LFG will be VERY slow for filling groups. we're talking probably an 30min to an hour for a non tank/healer later on (it'll probalby be fast even same realm at start because dungeon spam will be happening). This would likely lead to people again being more reliant on their own group forming and again why LFG is less important and more important is just having a good tool to actually be able to manually build groups quickly.
I believe Blizzard has made the right decision in barring LFD from WOTLKIf you play classic you know that forming or joining a group to do casual content is very easy. High agency and resourceful players are rewarded for understanding how to operate within the community and players have much more incentive to get to know one another. The agency and reward is given to capable players who are able to organize. That’s how the game should work. Dungeons are meant to be something you plan for, not shut your brain off for.Now as for LFD, I believe it should be implemented for OLD content. The reality of classic TBC is that if you’re not doing Outland content, it is very hard to put together a group and the leveling experience is simply not satisfying, especially on low population servers. As a result a lot of players opt to boost, essentially removing the leveling experience from the game and encouraging more illegal gold buying/selling. Most people playing at this point have leveled a character through 1-60 dozens of times throughout various expacs, so this content isn’t all that important. If you want to experience it in its full bloom you can just play vanilla classic. This content isn’t designed for WOTLK game design and dungeon finder helps pad the leveling experience out, making it more palatable.
What I find most interesting is how the increasing automation and queuecraft ruined the game for many, including myself, over the years. Now we are finally get a more traditional mmo wotlk, and all those guys from however many years ago are screaming on every social media platform they can about how the game needs more automation and in game store purchasable options. They want RDF, race changes, faction changes, transmog, LFR, and all that other stuff in wotlk. All the stuff that makes retail what it is, they want it in classic.I don't see why we can't be okay with two versions of the game. Retail has all that stuff, let others enjoy their Classic without that content.
Please fix the population disparity. Merge the small dead servers or open up transfers. Its clear you don't know how to manage a dwindling population. So were all forced to leave to go to mega servers if we ever want to pug anything since pug groups happen once every other blue moon on small servers. Or give us the option to go to a mega server so we can find groups easier. At least give us the possibility to find a group, this anti LFD idea is horrible. You need to do something to help the remnants on the small dying servers. LFD was the bone I was looking for to staying interested. I'm not even sure if I want to play this game anymore now. For the love of all world of warcraft give us race change. If anything give me the one paid feature I actually want to buy from you people.
I know nobody else cares but just in case anyone from Blizzard is reading this I am very sad about there being no option to let me stay on TBC. TBC had/has my favorite "playstyles" for certain classes and specs and I will miss being able to play my favorite way even if it's just to mess around solo on a dead server.I had no interest in Classic until TBC was announced, and now that TBC is going away I'm not sure if will keep playing. I played Wrath when it was current. It was a good expansion. But not my favorite. TBC is my favorite and where I want to stay. It is my hope that there are enough weirdos like me out there that Blizzard can throw us a bone and leave up maybe one or two servers for those of us who want to stay in 2007 forever. I know it's probably all in vain, but right now it's all I can hope for.
The ONLY good thing i can see is that the pre-patch can be 4 weeks or maybe 6 weeks, that's awesome for new players and try harders because we can get the time to lvlup Main + Reroll to finaly get BIS professions on your Main. Also, more fun because no stress about the time.About the RDF, Blizzard doens't hear the good community and must hear the private server community. Disabling RDF DO NOT make the game more social. Everybody know the game, know all dg, classes, what to do, what to know, dg are cleaned in 15min full AoE, even less because i can do Azjol Nerub in 5min chrono ! You want to make social with Fast food contente ? Make sense ? This is not possible because of the game design.Do you want to know what will be happen ? - "LF Tank/Dps/Heal full chain run"- "Hey +1 ", "Hi Hunt +1", "Hello, Rdrood +1" => /inv /inv /inv /inv - "Hi everyone", "Hey", "Hello !" - "Ok let's go start Nexus/Oculus"- "Let me regen" 15min later => Oculus and 15min later => - Flying afk alt tab google during the path of Azjol/Ahn Kahet- Flying afk alt tab google during the path of UT Keep/UT Pinacle- Heartstone and Flying afk alt tab google during the path of Drak'Tharon/Gundrak- Flying afk alt tab google during the path of HoL/HoN- Heartstone and go Violet Hold/StratholmeWOW GG what a big social you will make Blizzard !Let's go another !@#ing expansion with full canal spamming instead letting canal FOR REAL SOCIAL. The only Wotlk i played with REAL social whas when there is an OFFICIAL /world WITHOUT spamming LFM because RDF enabled AND dungeon BOOSTED HP/Damage etc.Blizzard omfg learn the game a bit and don't trust RANDOM UNEXPERIENCED CLASSIC PLAYERS.
Y'all do realize LFD did not come out until patch 3.3.0 (ICC) anyways right? For the few comments I read with people saying to please the Wrath community.
I'm really happy with the approach they're taking with WotLK. No LFD is a big dub and takes one step to avoid WotLK (the least 'classic' like classic version of WoW) feeling like a progenitor retail. One thing I will say though which a lot of people will probably hate me for is that I think DKs should start at 65 not 55 because I always found it strange that the story of you turning on the Lich King and then allying with Tirion to hunt him across Northrend is interrupted by the fact that the game forces you to then backtrack to Outland and engage with Illidan's story only for you to reach 70 by doing that, never finishing that story (since you aren't going to be doing TBC raids in WotLK) and then finally get back to the Lich King story you started in the DK starting zone. I still hate the level boost (and the inevitable corresponding CE mount that is sure to be announced soon) and I do think it contradicts their rational on not adding LFD but I still like that latter decision regardless. A positive is a positive even if the logic is inconsistent on their part.
I dont know why there is so much anger over the Dungeon Finder not being out with launch... This wasnt a thing in Wrath until 3.3 and thus makes total sense that it wouldnt be added until a later phase as well. There's also the fact that Dungeon Finder granted instant dungeons with a 5 man premade and gave a massive amount of experience when you did the random dungeons and would most likely be the fastest way to level to 80. Not only does this ruin the race for realm firsts but it also ruins the original experience of Wrath and exploring the zones.
They're gonna go from original Wrath with dungeon finder being the most popular and played patch/expansion of all time in the game's history to Wrath classic being DOA because of arrogance and stubbornness.
I love how Ruby Sanctum doesn't seems to exist.
I did not see the Onyxia revamp in that tentative schedule. Any word on if we will be getting that raid added to the mix?
