So how will we be getting justice and frost badges? Or loot bags? This is just going to kill alot of the non meta dungeons. Because no one wants to go to the ones that blow.Should just put the rule in that the dungeon finder will only que you for dungeons you have discovered. Making people explore on their apts still
As for me, I don't really care if the Dungeon Finder is included or not. I personally think it was (and still is) a badly designed tool based on the best of intentions. It ended up being just a band-aid for helping Blizzard to hide their horrible server population management. But I will play WotLK regardless. What I don't get is all those people saying "If the DF is not available, i'm unsubbing"... Or even the opposite "If Blizz include the DF tool, I'm not going to play Wrath". What a childish behavior (both of them).WotLK was an awesome expansion, probably the best one for WoW. It it was it with AND without the Dungeon Finder. Most of the WoTLK was played in fact WITHOUT the Dungeon Finder (about 75% of the xPack content or so was played without Dungeon Finder). The DF was only added in the very last big content patch, the 3.3 Icecrown Citadel update. It indeed was in game for quite some time, (almost a year), but that was just because Blizzard again screwed up their release schedules and delayed Cataclysm more than expected, leaving people almost one full year with the same content tier (something that costed them a lot of subscriptions, btw).Nevertheless, if DF is ever implemented, the automated teleporting has to go. Unfortunately, the other most controversial aspect of the DF, the cross-realmness, cannot be disabled, because that would completely defeat the very own purpose of the tool (which is, helping lower population servers to be able to do some Dungeons in a reasonable timeframe, something that surely won't be archieved on low pop realms if the DF is limited to "in-realm only").As for me, I would rather leave the DF out, put on a PROPER LFG interface (something akin the current LFG tool used in Retail for Mythic Dungeons, so people don't have to rely on external Addons like LFG Bulletin Board), and forcing Blizzard to do their homework and ensure the population is correctly balanced at ALL times on ALL servers, (merging and FREELY transfering population whenever is needed). Also, maybe another justified use case for the DF could be easing lower level content, as it's true that finding groups for dungeons below max level is always more difficult than for the endgame, (at least once the initial leveling period is over, just because the available player-base is lower). So maybe enabling the DF for Dungeons < (Max Level) would be an acceptable compromise.
Axing LFD was a financial decision. Not a "listen to the community" decision.Because if it was actually about listening to the community then Blizzard:- Wouldn't be making boosts available.- We would have had Dual Spec already in TBC.- Attunements would have been account wide- We would have faster mount casting times- They would have added AoE lootingThose are just a few of the things people were very vocal about on forums. I was glad those changes didn't happen. (Just giving examples, not advocating for those things)You personally may be happy that LFD isn't going to be in WotLK Classic. That's cool. But let's not fool ourselves into believing that this really was about the community.LFD was a financial decision for these reasons:1 - No resources have to be spent in re-creating and testing an additional match making system for Classic2 - Those stuck on low pop servers (or members of the low pop faction) will pay to transfer3 - Those unwilling to pay for a server transfer will roll a new character on a high pop server which increases Blizz's game engagement metric4 - Many will see this as an opportunity to buy a boost from Blizzard on a high pop serverI'm not attacking Blizzard for wanting to make a buck, that's the whole point of them existing. I'm offended by the fact that they're parading around under the banner of "We listen to the community" to justify a financial decision when they ignore stronger community feedback (more people complained about boosts than they did LFD, for example).
I don't understand what the problem is with dungeon finder. Make it only your realm, and no teleporting in. Literally just a random pug finder that eliminates having to spam in chat forever to find a group.
Im rather sad by ther removal of RFD i thought it was a great addition to those who had trouble finding groups, and didnt have time to spend hours searching, specially for heroics.
I don't give a crap about socializing in a damn game, I'm here to do content, not to talk with people. I would go outside if I wanted to.
Worst idea ever. You're trying to change perfect expansion to state no one will want to play it. Only option for a change with LFD/RDF is to put it in Wrath from release. I don't want to spent hours and hours trying to find group in game just to give up and log out as I do on TBC. So many classes will be excluded from being taken to the groups... You're killing yet another expansion with your changes.
Northrend is amazing, but Vanilla is just on another level, PLEASE make a fresh classic era server, (not that SoM crap) atleast get rid of the fast phasing, fast lvling and summon stones.
