This makes me happy, because a new mount rig is always a good thing, but it's just *really* low-res...Like, i get why, so it has visual consistency with TBC's models, but for those of us who don't care for TBC, it feels gross.
Stop. Adding. Things. To. BC!And Classic! My word, its supposed to be exactly how it used to be for a reason! Cheap way of getting people to play your game and enjoy nostalgia...
People saying this has no gameplay implications are so stupid. In TBC epic ground mounts cost around 95g and epic riding skill about 570g. Well guess what, a "free" epic ground mount ( I assume it's epic, they won't treat you with a blue mount right?). Why get the gold in game when you can just buy it directly with real money? Now for people saying 95g isn't much. You're right. Who cares, because now you can also pay $$$ to Goblin Kotick to skip about 80% of the game which is the leveling process in an MMORPG specifically designed TO SPEND TIME LEVELING AND BUILD YOUR CHARACTER IN THE PROCESS.Modern retail players don't like spending time building their characters in classic. They come in, pay $$$ to boost, pay $$$ to buy store mounts, and Blizzard delivers and uses these players as an excuse to add more cosmetics (that arent obtainable through gameplay efforts of course), more services which invalidate everything about that character that you gave birth at the creation screen (name changes, character transfers, faction change, face/sex changes etc.)Oh and the list doesn't even end there. Just login to retail, open up the store page, and bare witness. Slowly but surely, the classic era version of the game, which was "a love letter" to people that have been driven away by all these things that I mentioned, is becoming exactly what drove away many players in the first place. My question is, why even bother trying to recreate TBC? Who is the target audience for this after all? Is it retail players? Is it League of Legends players? Fortnite? Because it's very clear, that it is not for people that want an authetic experience from back then. To reinforce my point, can't wait to see all these people on their lizard mounts in Orgrimmar and Stormwind running around, it will feel like one of these custom-made private servers.Give it to retail players, I don't care. But this HAS NO PLACE IN CLASSIC TBC.
Oh nooo..A mount was datamined and is probably going to be a store mount! Game ruined.
New content? This isn't why people play Classic.
I don't even know what to say. I'm just so disappointed with the Dev Team.I wish that they just focused on making a really awesome, engaging, and fun game. And less on profit fueled nonsense like this.
You're going to lose more money than gain money if you release this in TBC.
I hope this is for retail. One, because I really want it in retail, and two, because I do honestly hope they don't start making new exclusive stuff for the Classics. They should remain unchanged.
