April Fools' Day is coming, huh...
I love how people are saying "store mount". My first thought was "Level to 70 in TBC, and get this mount on Live".
hoping this is a promo item for the chinese servers
I mean you can trust Blizzard to create great games but you can also trust them to shoot themselves on the foot with these kinds of things..the community has already said they don't want changes, for the most partat the same time the community pays gold to boosters in-game, buys gold from gold farmers, and now i'm pretty sure the community will buy boosts en masse from blizzard, so it's no surprise there..
I suspect it will be tied to a promotion to give players a second chance at the Burning Crusade Collector's Edition with an additional mount tacked on. The problem with a purchasable mount instead of just a pet is that it circumvents earning a mount in-game, which gives people who buy it an advantage. So, to even out the playing field, blizzard should only allow this mount to "reskin" the mount you're already on instead of being a mount itself.
One of the pillars that made classic such a big hit was the strict adherence to stick as close to the original as possible. If any of the Blizzard execs parse through these comments, if you attempt to treat TBC like a retail clone through the introduction of a live services store, you will destroy what you have going. It's a completely different audience from current retail WoW.
April fool smelled.
That will be the most HD mount in the game. It's almost guaranteed to be a store mount or a collectors edition of some kind.
it's ugly :/ there are LACK of ground mounts for horde and only good looking flying mount is flying forms. +1 "i don't need this one" mount will not help. so its place is on retail version, the "another +1 world".
This mount has existed in some form or another in the games files since The Burning Crusade. It never had a model, but the Warp Stalker mount has been an idea Blizzard had for years.
Yes, fantastic idea. Make a mount that retail players are mad is not in retail, and that tbc players are mad is in tbc. Yes. Let's see how this pans out for them. (If this is a TBC-only store mount as the polygon count makes it look like it is)
Blizzard during classic: We will just make some minor changes, the community has nothing to worry about.Blizzard after classic success: Boosts and mounts for everyone! Let's milk TBC! For the Hor...eh...For Bobby!
Us classic players really don't want these things, give it to the retail audience please - they seem to love paying money for mounts.
I'd only really support this if its a free mount for everyone, or something of the like without it costing money, as a celebration of TBC paying for mounts in classic is dumb. And really we shouldn't be adding mounts to that game unless it comes with content in a classic + kind of way.
Blizzard, stop this crap with boosts and extra mounts, we want only that old piece of junk we love and are used to. You keep shooting yourself in the leg. Invest in Shadowlands patch redesigns: 8.1 models are recycled Torghast and legendary armour, there is work to be done.
