I think you should be allowed to do whatever you like to pixels when you play games on your own. However, when you are creating content for sites such as Youtube or Twitch, it is different. I wouldn't mind if they would ban people from either platform if the sole purpose of their channel would be to do horrible thing to representative of X race, sex, religion, nationality etc in video games. When you start creating content around your game play with an agenda, titles, webcam feed or commentary it becomes something else than humiliating pixels. Imo there is a line somewhere in there but it is hard to define. Also in WoW you don't interact only with NPCs you also interact with real people. Cat calling other players is worse than killing pixels.
OMG, not the whistle thing again.
I dunno, were people even using it that way an actual thing?Regardless to there's just something about this that feels really patronizing and cringe.
For the first time I’m going to comment in 15 years of wow So blizzard forbid whistle and spit emotes because is an insult when this game wow from quests to professions is all about murdering and violence incentivation This is what I call hypocrisy in the highest level Good thing I quit this game long time ago
lets be honest, whoever gets hurt his feelings if someone /spit on you in a videogame you really should stop using the internet and stay in your home safe bubble.. ^^
Somewhat off topic, but do you think they will give us a release date more then a week in advance? Everyone is saying Phase 2 could come at the end of August. Likely?
Blizzard aren't interested in protecting any players, it's very transparent they're only doing it to improve their image to make it seem like they care, like all these companies do with this stuff. In-game is not the real world, movies are not real, games are not real, TV is not real. For some reason social media generations hail this stuff as being progressive or helping some cause when it's a total waste of time and shows Blizzard are far more interested in frivolous things instead of actual feedback on the forums (not that the Classic forums should be listened to, at all, they're all insane trolls)
Blizzard is so soft. Stop changing harmless stuff that was never an issue.
I'd be perfectly fine with the emote changes (the whistle sound always felt out of place anyhow) if they were accompanied by ACTUAL changes in the company and interaction with the community. As it is, it just screams of a lazy attempt to paper over the proverbial hole in the wall and act like they actually fixed the problem just by removing a few problem child's and some flowery words. Sure, stuff like this might assuage some, but the game and the company both need meaningful change if it's to keep moving forward, not empty actions like watering down the game rating.
