Fresh servers, prepatch/release date?
If the community refuses to use drums then they don't need to change anything; just because all players are sheep and have to follow for a small dps increase just lol
What about dual talent specialization? Would make a huge quality of life improvement with little impact.
I like the idea of they upgrade the Looking for Group finder, like maybe having us to add a class/spec/note and que as in a list.
I love to see the JC and Ench change, that was something that was missing in the game and mandate a lot "required" profession swapping to get your best phase rings enchanted and drop the profession - in conjunction with the LW nerf it actually means that people would have to select professions, and not juggle them in order to benefit from all of them at the same time.Engi goggles become obsolete by T5 gear levels, so I would welcome a change here, especially that other crafting professions can use their gear with an comparable power level to the initial (and further) raid tiers. But as far it's looking mostly like I'd expect it to.
I guess some people here dont remember the old TBC Group finder tool. It was pretty convinient, you could search in areas for people to quests with, posting your group for dungeons when you looked for members and other stuff. It was NOT a Dungeon Finder like in Wotlk. You needed to chat with the people from your server and still need to go whereever you wanted to quest or dungeon grind by yourself.TLTR it simply improved they way of searching players to play with. Channelspamming was not necessary anymore. Total Improvement without a downside.
The real problem with Arenas is that boosting.is the most reliably way of gaining rating, unless they implement personal rating at season 1 (and make buying items require it). There will still be setup fights, but hopefully cross-realm matches will cull them. Also, war game arenas would be a nice addition, that would let people from one guild practice against each other in skirmish.
In BC, the grp finder was very primitive. You had the option of "auto-joining" which is what we're used to with retail atm. However this feature was rarely used as there was no real filter for grps, you could end up with 5 rogues auto joining in the grp and it didnt teleport you to the instance. Basically it displays a list of people who are looking for a group, and who are looking for more with a filter for each instance. It's nothing like the LFG we have now in retail, it's more like the LFG in GW2 when it started out. It seems like the kind of change blizzard will make would be a role picker option to make filtering easier, it's not game breaking, it was in TBC and just like in TBC it was rarely used, most people did and still will prefer to advertise for their group.
they are changing it be be way different. The purpose of the classic community is to have that original sense of community. If I can blinly queue for a dungeon with random people, thats not that same feeling...
I'm still so confused about the BS weapon nerf. They said it's because it would allow for player power beyond that originally available in the current patch. But isn't the reason they are going with 2.4 class balance and itemization that it was the "final state of balance"? Well, with that final state of balance in the initial phases, melee classes are completely undertuned relative to ranged with the available gear. You cannot reconcile final patch class tuning and nerfing BS weapons. You nerf classes that are already undertuned in current content relative to others. Some positivity: I commend the Enchanting and JC changes. Let's take a look at drums now please :)
Drums feel mandatory to some because it is a buff to 5 people. It is the only profession like that.IMO, they need to make drums only affect the caster. They can adjust values from there if it feels too weak to ever be picked up over enchanting or whatever the new meta is for your 2nd profession.
Because its not clear what "modernized" means. Honestly, I'm ok with any kind of group finder AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T INTRODUCE CROSS REALM INTERACTION. Honestly, I was very disapointed that cross realm BGs were in classic, because it basically breaks that server pvp ranking communities. I know that cross realm bgs were a thing, but they weren't a thing until after Naxxramas came out, so it was a much different experience. The problem, isn't the group finder per se. The problem is that its unclear about what they're going to do with it.
Bringing personal rating and LFG into TBC Classic arena doesn't help people find meaningful partners to rank or play with. It just makes boosting people easier to do which further alienates the people that want to get into arena that may be new or didn't start at the season start. Effectively this just makes it easier to boost, Doing 5s with personal rating so you get boosted by 4 people instead of 2 and you get more arena points because of it. Why is this good for arena?

This sounds like WoWhead jumping the gun at the end there. Back at Blizzconline, they mentioned their intent/plan for the updated LFG tool in BCClassic is for it to essentially be the premade group finder from retail, which is a far sight different from the Dungeon Finder. That's the one where you look for groups or individuals looking to form a group and sign on, or post your own LFG/LFM for people to sign on with.
You could still introduce a dungeon finder.Have it be crossrealm so low pop sides can find groups at any hour of the day rather than go through tedious amounts of time finding one.Remove all herbs, veins, quests and similar from zones. Make it so it cannot be used to farm anything (not even recipes or vendors).Port people out of the crossrealm once they leave the group.Do not teleport people to the instance. As it currently is it can take several hours mindlessly spamming a macro, the group finder will not improve anything, it's just mindlessly updating/applying to groups akin to ClassicLFG or similar group finders. You could have the benefits of a massive population without the negatives people despise so much. It would also allow people on low pop factions on their realm to actually do dungeons rather than currently where some sides struggle to even get basic ones going.
If drums affect only the caster everyone will need drums instead of 5 people. Not a good look bro. Just make drums bind on use and remove the need to be a leatherworker, this way they will sell on AH for anyone to pick up like feasts and other consumes.
