I'm glad he mentioned this. Because right now if I had a choice between a gold refund on the heirlooms I have, and the new setbonuses blizzard put out, I'd choose the refund. ESPECIALLY because heirlooms are weaker than gear you'd find anyway. They just aren't valuable anymore.
It's interesting that so many people and even Blizzard are concerned about leveling from 1-50, where I feel that 50-60 doesn't get nearly talked about. While you expect that leveling in the first patch from 50-60 / current expansion leveling to take 10-20 hours, usually that number gets halved in the middle of the expansion with the allowance of both heirlooms and other bonus XP things like say Faction Assaults from BFA 8.1 and Legion Assaults from Legion 7.2. What's going to happen to leveling 50-60? Would people tolerate leveling from 1-60, knowing that 1-50 goes by in like 10 hours, and even by 9.3 50-60 takes like 15 hours? I think with heirlooms getting their XP buff removed, Blizzard is probably in for a world of hurt in patch 9.1 onwards when people expect some concessions to be made for leveling in Shadowlands content.
what blizz should implement is refund for heirloom if this stays that way :/the idea of Set bonuses is not great but the rested xp is absolute worse (or the reduce the rest requirement to 1 day or something)
Interesting format. I would like to see more of it as long as the person being replied to does not take offense to the constructive criticism (in this case, that person is DesMephisto).EDIT: Edited because english is too hard for some people.
6 pieces: Gain the ability to use flying at level 10 (150%) and avatar like damage boost proc.If they add this then losing the exp bonuses is worth it. As it stands right now though? I've been conned.

The set bonuses suck. And it nerfs leveling via pet battles big time which is a bummer.

That said, the rested xp set bonuses are really lackluster and could definitely be changed to fit suit with casual and speed leveler gameplay
Also one other concern I have is that if Heirlooms become too strong in terms of power, then it causes a ton of other problems when grouping in dungeons. I remember when Heirlooms were way better than normal gear so people could one-two shot mobs while leveling, and any time a new player without heirlooms entered a dungeon, they'd get insta kicked cause they were very weak and couldn't speedrun the dungeon.I want Heirlooms to have neat bonuses, and make worth the money, but I also don't want dungeoneers to keep kicking people without heirlooms. The heirloom changes to make them not so strong coming...I think Legion? really reduced that kicking of new players.
I exspect they will remove XP or greatly nerf xp from Draenor treassures as well? even though Its a core feature to be able to get al lthe way thru WoD on only treasures.
Quite a lot of people have invested a lot of time, effort and gold into heirlooms and they want to see that it was worth all the work put into them. As it stands with the proposed changes, the only value they retain is the gold you save from not having to mog multiple times while leveling. I feel there was very little effort put into the proposed set bonuses, they want to use a lot of words describing these fancy new abilities that have very little usefulness. As each patch goes by, i lose more and more faith in this company.
I feel like I got my gold worth of use out of the heirlooms. As far as I'm concerned, the new bonuses are fine. Yeah, some of that stuff is a little meh if you're trying to level ASAP. I'll live either way.
The current heirloom replacements are terrible and shouldn't go live.
Heirlooms definitely need some pizzazz and the rest bonus and OOC regen just fall flat given everything else with the leveling revamp. Don't go overboard on it but cripes Blizz we spent all this gold on these things and upgraded 'em every expac so give us something worthwhile!
TBH, I like the extra XP from the heirlooms, however if they were to just make heirlooms stronger gear, on par with dungeon blues rather than questing greens, that would really be all that is necessary in my book to make them useful again. I've been leveling my 110 toons up to 120, and I just spent a crap ton of gold to level my heirlooms up to be used to 120 and I'm finding that I'm weaker using them than if I were to equip the quest rewards, they don't scale up in power properly, that's the only real problem with them. Which is actually making the leveling process slower, even with the XP boost b/c I have to be more cautious fighting, because I'm not even as strong as I would be if I equipped the questing reward gear.I also agree, any bonuses that heirlooms grant need to stay away from power/convince that we'll miss having once we can no longer utilize the heirlooms, just like the example given in the article for the legendary items, it feels really bad when you lose an ability. So any bonuses really need to be things that are centered around helping the leveling process but won't be missed once your done leveling. I'm not sure what that would be exactly outside XP boosts though.... 🤷🏻♂️
