The only thing I liked about it was that it was a nicely sized shield, now it's just a #$%^ty little buckler-lookin' shield.Really bad choice imo, they have plenty of other @#$% that clips, why choose this to be where they draw the line?
We finaly need the option to individually transmogg our shoulderpads. With that you can decide yourself if you wanna have a clipping shoulderpad with your shield. Also on that note, why isnt there a option already to change our characters to left handed. The only really thing you have to do is mirroring the animations... it cant be that hard...
The most important fix for shields is to stop them floating off of Tauren’s hands and backs. Some of the shields have huge gaps between them and the character model, and it looks stupid. With my Tauren Resto Shaman about half of the shields looked like they were floating!
“Interestingly, many are more annoyed that the change was undocumented, than that the change happened at all, however Blizzard is not deliberately trying to slip in potentially controversial changes and hope players won't notice. Changes like this are small and slip in under the radar. This change is purely cosmetic and was not worth the time it would take to communicate it to the patch notes.“Unless you have a source that’s quite a lot of editorial opinion there...
Resizing anything is just stupid, it should have the same size on your back as in your arm, which no shield has, and most weapons.Hell, even our characters shrink when using certain mounts, its just lazy solves.
The Kyrian back halo (for lack of a better description) is also weirdly bent and warped in 9.0.5. I understand that this was done to lessen shoulder clipping, but there has to be a more elegant solution. At the moment it just looks like a truck (or an elekk) has run over it.
Can you please shrink the shoulder armor, blizz? I’m one light breeze from toppling over.
dont care . shields for dwarfs etc are to small for years.
Stop thinking you know the answers when you have no data to backup your claims wowhead. We as a community have 0 piece of information to claim that the change was made to reduce clipping issues. We don't know at all why the change happened. If anything it might even be a side effect/bug of another change that went live and devs didn't have time to fix it before the patch went live because it's a minor issue and other things take priority. It might be simply that the shield was never meant to be so huge in concept arts and somehow the artist making the 3D model made it bigger than planned and it was only now fixed. It can litterally be a billion different things. Just stop trying to pretend like you know what Blizzard is doing every single time. This is minor but it's just nurturing the toxic community to be even more toxic about the most random minute things that are in 99% of cases out of the realm of realstically possible to change by Blizzard without wasting a lot of time and effort on it. Most of the undocumented changes are most likely simply there because they are in preparation of patch 9.1 and some parts don't need to wait 9.1 to be implemented and they just threw it now when it was ready for 9.0.5 but wasn't particularly relevant to patch 9.0.5 or too minor to tell the players about.

Now if only they could do this with most weapons in the game as well...
Why would they care about clipping for this one thing when literally every armor piece clips. The shield looked fine large, heck it could have stood to be a bit bigger. Large shields need to come back, they look awesome!
IMO they should remove transmog options, and just focus on making every tier set working/looking good on every race, and maybe leave option for swaping recolours (if unlocked) for people who gear in both PvE and PvP.
there are still bugs in shadowlands leveling zones/quests and campaign quests since day one, yet this was more important to fix. well done
They did this with zanda trolls back in BFA. The small shields look so ridiculous on large framed toons.
