Assuming they mean to modify it like ICC was, where you could flip back and forth between heroic and normal, except the last boss, this would be a bad change, IMO. The trinkets that drop in ToGC 25 and 25 heroic are not unique and some specs, like healers want to use both 245 and 258 versions of these trinkets (Solace) as they have strong spell power and regen. A change like this would make it much more difficult to get both versions as you'd only be able to try for one version per week, and if your guild is doing heroic mode, near impossible to try for the normal mode version unless you stop raiding with your main guild run.
The only raid that you could run 4 times in one week was ToTc. They changed it in ICC to where you can only run one 25 man and one 10 man. IF they change ToTc then that will nerf the power of classes like ret paladin who's Bis trinket was Heroic Death's Verdict and Normal Death's Verdict....Also it was a pretty iconic memory of mine to open my character sheet and see the twos skulls in my trinket slots.
One things I really liked on WotlK was 4 raid lockout....I really enjoyed doing 10 men with my guildies before doing 25 men.You could learn more and be more focused with 10 men and later be more prepared for 25It was one of best moments. Remove it it's not a smart choice.
Good thing i think, but put a Phase for ToC NM and another Phase for ToC HM
Make proper 10 man raiding happen
so i have to give up a 25 man naxx run if i wanna do 10 man achievements NICE
“The Classic team is looking at ways to slow down progress so guilds don’t clear the first tier in five days.”Except Ensidia cleared 25m Heroic Naxx and got World First Malygos in mostly Sunwell gear because the item curve was too low and most of the gear from instances in Wrath was garbage going into Naxx. Really feels like a bunch of bait and switch garbage since they didn’t do this for Burning Crusade classic.
For the people seeing this as a positive:1) You will regret that when you realize how fast the content dries out each raid tier. 2) You will regret it when you realize you need one or two items from 10 man Ulduar "hard encounter" but you cannot go because you are rostered to a 25 man.3) You will regret it when you want to help your non-elite buddies do a pickup ten man for some gear, or hang with your wife who does not do rostered raiding, and your only truly solid toon is the one locked out already.4) You will regret it when you get to Trial of the Pootater and realize that your "content" consists of that raid, the five man (if you raid you don't need the gear), and the dailies at the trial grounds (by that time you will be exalted everywhere else, and the only reason for older content is shard farming for healers).AKA, you will be bored to death and restricted with a single lockout. There are a LOT of ways to gear multiple toons by the time Trial hits, you never have to raid four lockouts per week to remain competitive. And for the record, you could only do ICC 10 or 25 once per week. Each "mode" shared a lockout. So if you killed Marrowgar on heroic 25 mode, you were stuck in that raid lockout. You could not zone in on a 25 normal and help your buddy kill Marrowgar. It was a pain in the ass to be honest, and it would be easier to handle with four separates.Wowpedia.com has an archive of raid lockout histories, and to be honest, a Throne of Thunder "loot lockout" system might work best for each type, one for 10 and one for 25 man.
So here is some brainstorming on the outside shot the WoWhead people can pass along ideas to the Dev team:Naxx through Ulduar releases (those without separate heroic modes in original, but 10 and 25 versions): use the old system. Separate lockout for 10s and 25s. You can run one style of each per week. This includes all raids that did not have a heroic mode (Malygos etc). Maintain this system through the xpac.Trial and Icecrown and later dragons: These had two modes for each raid size. Run two phases for these.1st Phase: 10 man normal and heroic share a lockout. You do one, you are locked for both. 25 man normal and heroic share a lockout. You do one, you are locked for both.2nd Phase: At the midway point of their respective phases, patch apart the lockouts, so four total. You can run one ten man normal and heroic, and one twenty-five man normal and heroic. This phased system allows for slowed early progression without saturating gear and badges. But the second phase allows a raider to run more if they want, if they are late to the party and catching up gear, or if they just want to help out raiders not at heroic level but use their geared character or one that fits a role needed.Pass this along WoWhead, I have no connections on the inside.
I hope they buff Naxxramas so we aren't bored out of our minds until Ulduar comes....Naxx in wrath is just way too easy - almost "LFR difficulty"
Leave it as is, people want to play wrath not some other crap.
