My most epic drop would probably be the first epic I got, a world-drop Lifestone in Winterspring while levelling my first character, my druid.
Good epic items for me are always also at the start of a new expansion. I seem to have guild problems and wind up having to go haywire rerolling/transfering upon expansion, so getting into a nice guild and getting your first epic in a clean setting is a good feelign as well. This time around it was Flamebeard's Bracers from Heroic AN
Getting https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=25402 on the mob that got me level 70. :D
Definitely Don Santos' Famous Hunting Rifle, for being the first world drop epic that I ever actually used. I've had a couple world drop epics drop in the past, but nothing I could actually use.
I'm going to tell you a tale of a time long, long ago...well, a few years, but still, it feels long.My most epic loot drop ever was the Staff of Dominance from Golemagg in Molten Core. But first...a little backstory.I was one of the more under-geared mages in the guild - I still had the staff from ZF at the time. But every night, before the raid began, I would look through atlas loot, thinking to myself "I will get that Staff of Dominance, and I won't spend any DKP before I do."More than a few raids had gone by, and I had no luck so far. I had DKP accumulated to the point beyond anyone else in the guild. But I stuck to my word - I passed on everything - Arcanist, various rings and necklaces, even an Azuresong Mageblade all went to the other players. It was yet another night raiding Molten Core, and I figured, "enough is enough, if Golemagg doesn't drop my staff, I'm taking every bit of loot that I can get." So my guild clears MC - nothing particularly interesting happens. We get to Golemagg, and kill him...silence. My guildmaster didn't say a word...all I saw, in the chat box, was...You receive loot: .
The Horseman's Mount!
On my old EU account I played a warrior. I didn't realy have time to raid back then and my PvP dreams quickly died out because of the nature of that horrible grind. I was mostly hangin' around with my blue valor, but I had a dream - The Arcanite Reaper. Ever since I saw that axe I wanted it.I was a blacksmith and used my little rogue for god knows how many hours farming the rare guy in LBRS for the plans but they never droped. Still I got lucky and a friend of mine hooked me up with it real cheap. Phase 1 was over !With renewed determination I proceded to phase 2. For days I circled around Un'Goro for Rich Thorium and hoping for a Crystal on each vein. With patience I had all the mats and behold ! There it was in my hands - my brand new spanking shining Arcanite Reaper. An iconic weapon of the early days.Ofcoarse the time of that axe had already passed but still I was realy proud with myself and people still stoped and said "Oh, and Arcanite Reaper, cool."That was probably the most epic item for me ever.
I remember first coming to Outland on my hunter and running down the steps to get to the next town in Hellfire, only to see those big elite mobs in front of me. So I figured maybe it was some kind of cool event I could help out in, so I tried to fight the Pit Commander there multiple times, but every time I died. So then I tried to run around him to see if i could maybe just skip the fight entirely, only to be stopped by more elites around him.Severely frustrated I logged off and waited til the next day to see if my friend was on to help me fight the pit commander since he was level 70. When I asked him he laughed at me for a while and told me to look for the flight master near there. I flew to Thrallmar in nothing but red gear. :(I guess the whole invading demons bit was so overwhelming I forgot to turn to the right to see the flight master.
Winning my Paladin's first epic after a tied roll of 100, then a tied roll of 3. I won on a 69.
