my most epic mount loot was definitely my ZA bear. After many attempts and bear drops I kept losing. Then finally 3.0 was close to coming out and the ZA bears would be gone forever! A friend of mine asked me to come heal for his pug run and I wasn't saved already so I thought it couldn't hurt. On the run we got the 4 chest event in ZA and of corse the bear dropped, it was on group loot and the roll window popped up. I hit need like everyone else and covered my eyes with my hands waiting for the results. I heard my named called on vent, and I went NUTS! I couldn't shut up about it and I still ride my bear to this day <3
The most EPIC drop I ever got was not an item, but another player.Back in 2005 when I was a wee level 42, my warrior was enthralled with engineering. Addicted, you might say.So on that fateful day, I was questing alone in the hinterlands when out of nowhere, a Tauren Shaman of equal level appeared from behind a tree and prepared to slay me!Well, I thought to myself, I guess my best option is to try my gnomish death ray!As I began casting the wonderful device, before Blizzard decided to make it a gnomish tickling ray, the shaman charged! The device started to vibrate loudly. A flash of blue death leaped from the end of my faithful trinket.Lo and behold, the shaman didn't even make it halfway towards me when the beam hit him square. He was hit square in the chest, and fell forward, fried to a crisp. After that, I decided to become a blacksmith >_<TLDR: One shot a guy with a death ray

The most epic loot I've ever gotten was my Ring of Spell Power from MC. 5 months of farming, and I used it all the way through SSC!
the tearstained handkerchief. no doubt looted from the corpses of my QQing enemies in AV :)
The only thing that i have wanted since wotlk came out was the motorcycle mount. So after wotlk came out i started working on farming out the materials for it, it took me 2 weeks just to get the titansteel bars and about another week just to get the 12k gold required. But on the day i finally got the bike was the best "epic" item that i have seen or had. I drove it all over the place, and it made people point and stare and wish they had one!
I played a hunter before BC and we raided ZG/MC alot, and I always admired the druids in our guild. We must've killed Ghaz'ranka 100 times trying for the poly turtle book. And one day by chance one of my favorite feral druids got the Nat Pagle's fish Terminator and I think he was the only one on the server with it, we'd never seen it drop before then or since. Well in BC I rerolled on a new server and chose a druid to play with some friends and our first trip to ZG (I think we 7 manned it) I fished up Ghaz'ranka for us and we got the poly book and the staff dropped! I had to have it, and it's still sitting in my bank to this day. One of the coolest items ever imo. Looks sweet too! :P
So I was killing vultures in the blasted lands for the collect-animal-parts-for-buff-candy quests, and when I went to loot this one vulture, probably one of these, I was flabbergasted. Not because it had dropped some incredibly good item, but because, you know all that random junk vultures drop, feathers & talons and different kinds of meat and whatnot--it had one of everything on it. Three or four pages of loot, most of it greys, all of it fairly vulture-specific.So yeah. It was pretty epic, in a "random number generator acting up" sort of way.
For me I would have to say the Fel Infused Leggins off of the old Kazzak. Not only was it my first epic ever I had to roll a 92 to beat the other warlock's 90 to get them. Also didn't replace them till outland which was about a year later.
Ok, this item isn't an epic item, but an uncommon. Thus a green item. My 1st time running The Armory, you know, Scarlet Monastery's 2nd instance.. I heard after completing that instance that there was an uncommon tabard that drops off the Trainees that run in after you kill Herod. Though it was a low drop rate, I wanted to obtain it dearly. At the time, I was on an RP server and obtaining that would greatly help me RP better. As time goes on (I never got it to drop on that server), I ended up re-rolling on my friend's PvP server. Although this server wasn't RP, I thought I should go and try to keep running that instance for it to drop. On this PvP server (not posting which server (>_<)), I rolled a paladin (this was still pre-bc upcoming to the release of TBC) and then obtaining this tabard would greatly make my paladin look mighty epic. On my 1st try, I was level 35 and just killed Herod & got the Herod's Shoulder the Trainees start rushing in. I stood at the top of the stairs and used Consecration. One after another, the Trainees die. I've already told my group that I really REALLY wanted that Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade and if it dropped would the mind letting me get it & these guys were ok with it. It finally dropped!Wow, after several hundred tries on an RP server and then 1 try on a PvP server, I finally received my MOST epic item (at the time). 2 days later, I was sad, yet again.. The Burning Crusade releases. I wasn't 58, so I wasn't able to join everybody that was already 58+. Oh well, I was quite happy with my tabard, it was unique, not a lot of people had it.. at least weren't wearing it proudly as I was. That was my epic story. I know that I might not win, but telling this always brings a smile to my face and to those that ran with me that day. I actually, took them out to dinner (my guildies then were my IRL friends).
