My friend had been desperately farming to get what he needed to summon the boss Gahz'ranka(aka the one who drops the Turtle Polymorph in ZG). So he was pretty much begging in G-Chat one day for help to summon him. I agreed and so did a warlock. We tried at first with my low geared 70 Druid tank to get it to work, but he just got smoked. So I then logged on my 70 resto shaman and also brought my friends 70 holy paladin. In our 2nd attempt we had our warlock tank. She kept threat easily throughout the fight, we me switching healers in order to conserve mana. Finally with the boss dead, we crossed our fingers and prayed for the right loot. There on that hydra's body lay https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=22739. We all freaked and celebrated as our mage screamed so loud on vent. To this day, I still love seeing my favorite little turtle polymorph in raid.
I'd have to say the most epic -drop- I got was the Twilight Drake. Two days ago, we ran 25-man Sartharion. We had him down to 5% when our tank d/c'd. When the tank died, Sartharion proceeded to go ape on the rest of the raid, while we ran and kept up the DPS.After about 2 minutes, we had him down to 2% and there was only me and the rogue. Rogue got him down to less then 1% while I healed him before he got stomped. Then I just let loose Wraths until and Moonfires until he dropped dead, me at only 1/2 health.Lawls were had as I rez'd everyone and healed. THe tank came back online, and found himself dead with the dragon dead. I rez'd him, he went to loot. . .The dragon was on the loot-table. Needless to say, we all rolled on it. . . I won it by 1 dice roll ahead of our destro warlock. Now I'm busy flying around on my new drake :)
the most epic lewtz that i have gotten was mah t6 gloves, weeks of working on hyjal gets to you, so much so that you think "why am i still raiding for such a small piece of gear!" but when it finally dropped my eyes buged outta my head and my mouth started salavating at the chance of actually being able to win the roll. 5 minutes later i was the proud owner of the gloves, very happy day.
The most epic loot I ever received was on my Lvl 60 NE Priest on SkullCrusher named Aist, ~2-3 years ago. I was the last priest to join the healing team in our 40 man raid groups and I never saw much loot. I always had a great time raiding and playing with my guild. We would have laughs, drink over ventrilo, we even created our own /random 1 100 gambling games (and I won a lot of money, lol). I had been a slave to blue items until then, going berserk over finding every piece of gear I could with the most +mp/5. I spent a LOT of time in Dire Maul. I had over 100 +mp/5, two mana batteries, even the shoulders that only dropped during the Warlock mount event in DM West. When I play a character, I become obsessed with a single talent and gear spec. I wanted to be the most undergeared healer in our raid, but the one healer that still had mana after a long boss fight. For a very long time, it was effortless to accomplish the first of those two goals. When I started raiding, my guild had downed every boss in MC except for Majordomo and Ragnaros. We had made occasional Razorgore attempts and had come close, but we had our minds set on a full MC run.Within a few weeks we had Majordomo down to a science. Each week, we would refine our strategy and execute with fewer deaths and slip ups. Each week, I stared at my miserably low DKP and wondered if I'd ever get the Eye of Divinity. We had 10 priests, all of which were ahead of me in DKP (we didn't do a bid system, whoever had the highest dkp had first picks). It seemed like I'd never get that dang ol' eye. Then we downed Ragnaros. We were "done" in MC. We downed Razorgore in the same night. We were on to Vael attempts! "Oh no", I thought, "there are still two priests ahead of me to get the eye! I'll never get it!". Vael attempts were every raiding night. If it wasn't raiding night, you were out getting FR gear. I cringe thinking about how long it took to get +mp/5 bracers off of Incendius. We all became rabid with the idea of being the next ally guild to down Vael (with only two guilds ahead of us). After 2 weeks of Vael attempts: ZG came out! Holy smokes, look at this joint! ZG quickly became my new favorite activity: the bosses were fun, tons of gear to get, and a smaller, more intimate raiding group allowed good players to stick out from a 40 man crowd. Best of all, we didn't spend DKP to get loot from ZG: I was on an equal playing field as the best members of my guild. Then, one day hanging outside the AH in IF, I saw it. Or rather, it saw me. On the back of another priest I was familiar with was this huge staff that I couldn't quite make out from the distance. I moved in to get a closer look and the staff turned and looked at me. /BOGGLE. Is that staff a giant snake head? Is that a giant snake head that MOVES? It was the Will of Arlokk: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19909.WANT.For the next 2 months, I was a ZG addict. I wanted that staff so badly. I instantly realized that, no, it doesn't have +mp/5. In fact, there was another staff from ZG that did: Jin'do's Judgement https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19884. But it wasn't a snake. It didn't move. It didn't scream "Internet Baller." (plus, Jin'do was dumb hard back then!)I also quickly found out, after voicing my desire for the staff, that it was better suited for druids and to expect them to put up a fight for it. Great. One Saturday morning, I was faithfully doing my weekly ZG run and got a guild group going that seemed pretty tight. We stormed through the bosses: Bat, Snake, Spider, Bloodlord, Tiger. I was top of the healing chart and I seriously never ran out of mana. Finally, we came to the Panther boss. This was not a fun fight as alliance and we often couldn't do it without some of our top players, all of which were missing this particular Saturday morning. Three attempts later, she was finally down and she dropped the staff. Someone remarked that they had never seen it drop before. Before I could even acknowledge it, busy rezzing and healing, the two druids in our raid threw down "need". One of them was DPS'ing. "Great", I thought, "watch as I roll a 2 and get beat by a 3." I reached for need, hesitated, looked around my, then, college dorm room as if I had a crowd watching me make this decision, and clicked.99.Booya.The very next day on Sunday night, we finally downed Vael. Third guild on our server. We were elated. We bumped some tunes over Vent and had a dance party.I eventually had to sell that account, yes, sell, to pay for bills as I was a very broke college student. I was by no means sick of the game, AQ was just around the corner. But, I sold the account to my guild master for $100 bucks, with only four epic items. One of them being the Will of Arlokk. I paid my bills and finished school like a good boy. I recently came across a folder of pictures from a guild LAN party I had attended, which started with a small amount of WoW and Halo and turned into getting trashed and having a drunken blast. At the end of the photo series, I found one WoW screenshot nestled in: our guild, standing over Vael's corpse. I saw myself immediately, goofy blue skin and hair, dead center of the group, /cheering with my snake staff. Internet Baller.
This one time in AV we had the whole raid rush to Drek and we got there, and tried to down him with no towers down or anything just Drek and warmasters straight up. So we were there and tank pulls everything while half the dps is on him and the rest are dpsing the masters and wolfs. The half of the dps that wasn't on drek died but they managed to kill the wolfs and one master. then the master started pounding the tank and tank died then healers, and drek was at 30% so my pet started took aggro and then this other hunter's pet took aggro and we started bouncing aggro around for bout a minute between pets and us. every time we would feign every time it was up and popped everything. then finally at 10% the other hunters pet died and then he followed so only my pet and me were left, all while healers were rezzing and gaining aggro and dieing again. So at 6% my pet died and i started to tank lol, popped deterrance and kited him arround the room abit and ended up killing him, after he got me to 3% hp. that was pretty epic for me.
Some of my most epic loot, would have to be in my first ever time into BT and we downed Illidan. Nothin special about the run, every1 didnt wipe and it was up to me to save the day. Was just a normal run. But when I looted him to see what droped and to grab my badges, I saw it, Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer. and luckily I rolled a 99 on it and won.
My most epic item wasn't a drop really, it was quest reward from https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=9536. I was so nervous when facing them, they were real dreadlords, and what I had seen in Warcraft 3, they were mean killing machines. After slaying them both, I could feel the power within my mighty mage, I had just stopped a group of Burning Legion's forces for good. The item I chose from the quest was https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=24120. It was my first ring ever, and I still got it in the bank, just to remind me of those good old days.
For me the most epic drop i have ever gotten ought to be my first Tier item (this case T4 helm)...i always saw ppl with tier gear as ppl that can play gd so that helm gave me confidence in my abilities...besides the cool stats ofc :PP
