it would probley have to be Deadman's Hand, https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=34227, cause it was my first epic drop.
My new most epic drop is the "Essence of Gossamer" which drops from Heroic Azjol'Nerub. Sure it's a easy and fast instance, but when your healer has *trouble* dispelling poison it can be a nightmare. So, we go to the 2nd boss (Hadronox) and start the guard gauntlet thing. After the boss pops up one of our dps *somehow* ( -.- ) managed to aggro him enough so that he would keep throwing poison clouds at us. We dodged them for a while (not too effectively though) and then engaged him. Ofcourse he started spamming poison and healer had a tough time healing/dispelling it on everybody. Boss gets down to maybe 50k hp and everybody except me and healer are now dead with healer left on maybe 10% mana. At 35k the healer dies and I'm left alone with the giant poison spamming bug -.- After popping all my cooldowns (Valor Medal of the First War, Survival Instincts, Berserk, Barkskin & ofcourse a potion) I start dps-ing him with my hands shaking just hoping he'll die before I get too much poison. Barely managing to kill him I'm left on 4000 hp with poisons on me. I quickly run to the center of his body and loot just before dying. And there it was, the trinket I ran the instance about 8 times for xDDefinately was an epic encounter and drop for me :P
The most Epic item ive ever gotten was when i saw the pet bombling, i used weeks to pay 6g a day to get it (one of those gift boxes from renewal costs 2g) and when i got it i had mats already, it is so cool. it makes a nice sound and anoys the rest was realy happy over it!
mine is about when i was trying to get the robes of oblivion. i was trying for almost a year of running shadow labs and never even seeing it drop. well my guild at the time and i were running it my lock and another lock. he the entire run would not stop talking about getting those robes. well we take murmur down and the robes drop. i roll on them getting 2. he just starts laughing over vent about how he has finally got the robes. he rolls on them and gets a 1.
So far, my best epic is probably The Horseman's Blade... My endgame progression isn't very epic.
I'm still waiting for my epic drop after playing for many years.
Jin'Rohk. I couldnt use it for 10 days after as I was going on holiday but that made it all teh sweeter when I did finally get to kill something with it. :D
Hands down the most epic drop for me was a Foror's Compendium of Dragon Slaying.Back in the day Dusty Tomes would spawn in various locations in Dire Maul. Ironically, as a warrior you were able to farm these tomes by yourself using a Swiftness Potion and Intimidating Shout.Hundreds of potions and many glances through my Ornate Spyglass later... It finally dropped. I think I went into shock.I never ended up using it, sadly... But the whole experience was pretty EPIC!
I've been playing World of Warcraft since the Friends & Family alpha, so I've gotten a decent bit of epic loot across a decent number of characters. The most epic of loots was probably the first one I ever got. My friend (a paladin) and I (dwarf hunter, back when they were shiny and new) were underneath Searing Gorge, seeing if us alone could kill Obsidion and his handler, Lathoric the Black. Well, it turns out that no, we couldn't, so we started making our way back out. We happened to kill a slave who, luck would have it, dropped a Dwarven Hand Cannon. My friend kindly let me have it, and I was the proud owner of a damn fine gun.
