MMO-Champion
has just posted an announcement with all of the currently known information about the upcoming expansion:
World of Warcraft - Cataclysm!
This information
is
considered speculation, as it has not been officially confirmed by Blizzard, but Boubouille at MMO-Champion doesn't usually post something unless he's pretty sure and so far he's rarely been wrong. Some of the recently-gathered information includes: the new
level cap
(you'll be surprised!), as well as new
race/class combinations
!
You can read the entire thread
here
.
Thoughts?
Do you think this is going to be the big announcement Blizzard plans on releasing at Blizzcon 2009?

To Rankkorr: Sadly, we cannot have Pandarians. The chinese dont allow images of pandas to be harmed in any way what so ever. WoW is now in China again and would get banned again if Pandarians were added.
This one again, heh
Do a quick search on Google for the parameters of
China, panda, images, harm
, and you'll note that there's only
one topic
that comes up repeatedly. There was a single province in China that was thinking about enacting a law against besmirching the image of the panda; it was to be a regional law, not a national one. There's also no update on whether or not the law passed, but regardless: Kung Fu Panda was shown in China, and it shows the main character, Po, getting the crap kicked out of him six ways 'til Sunday.
So no, there is no such law. This is misinformation stemming from the fact that China complained about the garb that the Pandaren originally wore when they appeared in earlier Warcraft games; they were dressed in
Japanese
armor and clothing, and China asked that the game be culturally-accurate, so they were changed in later images to appear in traditional Chinese dress.
I did the research on this because I not only like the idea of Pandaren player characters, but also because I dislike this sort of "chain mail" spreading of rumours-as-fact whether it relates to WoW or no.

amen bro' I read the pandaren article on wowwiki too, and indeed , the chineese complained at first because the pandarens used japanese clothing names and gear (there was an early concept art of a pandaren on full samurai suit and dualwielding katanas, with a name like Mitsumoto or something like that)
they simply claimed that the panda was a chineese heritage, and should be represented as chineese (a very logic and valid claim)
after the pandarens were reworked with chineese names and clothes, the chineese actually loved the pandaren in warcraft III (wich was distributed in china even if it wasn't localized) so I see no reason why not to add pandarens.
I can't wait to have one and yell I BRING PANDAMONIUM
please blizz for the love of all that's good and horde, DON'T ADD THE GOBLIN TO US, ADD THE PANDAREN.

The human hunter and undead hunter makes sense. We hunt aswell, right?
And some just can't stop and continues after death.. Poor souls..
Undead don't hunt, they h
a
unt. Big difference...

They are lost in the nether somewhere.
And there will never be a pandarian race, because they were meant as an easter egg, not something to be taken seriously in WC3. It's not Blizzard's fault the Panda Cult has popped up out of nowhere, but I doubt we will ever see them in game as if Horde get's them, the Alliance crying will be heard across the world and vice versa.

And come on, SOMETHING AWFUL as a source?
A link to this, or just the topic name on their forums would be lovely.
(This is directed at the topic as a whole)
