You know this sounds so awesome. I am deeply considering this pruely because I love Wowhead and Malgayne and Sko. I have been using Wowhead throughout all my years of WoW (3) and I love it, love it all.Even so, it is one of the best websites ever. I am considering this OPTION as I want to help you guys out. Give something back. You have done so much for me and this is a way of saying thank you :)
and wowhead officially goes down the toilet.
Have you ever donated to a non-profit and got a coffee mug? That's how I see this premium membership, purely aesthetic benefits as a thank-you for giving them a donation. To the community: you have every right to be somewhat suspicious, in that many awesome sites that go premium "jump the shark". But give them the benefit of the doubt; wowhead has yet to fail me, so I have no reason to distrust it and you shouldn't either. To Wowhead: I think this is an interesting venture and I wish you luck...I myself am considering signing up because I do owe you a lot in the 3 years I've played wow. You are unquestionably the best resource for comprehensive wow info. I know you are monitoring this thread actively (which I think is great). I only hope that your membership stays very aesthetic...like a wowhead vanity pet.
So why won't it let me post without typing in the captcha after having upgraded? Everything else looks like it worked right.Edit: The captcha box went away. Yay Wowhead!
I'm still not sure how I feel about this...I'm getting the 3 month subscription just to try it out...Let's just say I'm giving a donation for the time being...
I like this idea thoroughly guys. Well done.I'm pretty sure I'm not going to go for it because the perks are ones that I can live without.I like how you guys intelligently found a new way to tap the boundless resource known as the forum addict community.Just one question: What happens if two premium users are using Profiler at the same time? Do they cut in front of each other in line indefinitely until the internet crashes?
I have no problems supporting the site. I love how they look to provide a "premium" service for a fee rather than just ask for donations, which they would have done. I like it. And for those that don't, just don't pay. Nothing changes. Nothing paid, nothing gained, still all the same tools and content. Well done, wowhead, I will upgrade soon myself.
A very late april joke?
My comments, from a personal standpoint (in most cases):
Just a quick question, I just can't seem to be able to turn the autorenew feature off...I can't stand it when it's on by default...Can anyone fill me in on how to do so?
maybe worth it if it was a lifetime membership but having to renew just reminds me of all that free-to-play mmo crapfaces out there.
Since it didn't get seen when I posted it earlier, can ya make an option to remove the badge on the avatar? Then I'll probably buy it :P
