And no mention of Heroes of the Storm. Such a shame.
Esports needs to die off already, especially ones tied to RPGs.
Getting involved with esports is what's killed most blizzard games. Esports happens naturally by the players, you can't force it.
Hopefully they fire all esports people, gaming should have never gone the esport direction
something something ...... rodents ...... sea vessels taking on water ...... something something .................... esports, as envisioned by marketing, is dead..Anybody still remembers DnD tournaments? When WotC bought TSR and started sponsoring things, then helping organize things, then Hasbro bought WotC, and they were controlling everything ...... then it all died. Why? Because the money grubbing suits knew how to grub money but knew nothing about the actual game or the fans.
Its almost like Formula 1 might be willing to pay more than microsoft or ATVI.
I don't know enough about Overwatch or CoD to know much about how those esports are run, but I know I haven't been all that thrilled with WoW, SC2, Hearthstone or the dumpstering of HotS. I know it's probably not this guys fault, but I hope whoever they have come in after him (Assuming anyone) has a better idea in mind that they can make work for Blizzard esports.
I feel that esports really #$%^ed up many of good Blizzard games. Instead of making them fun and engaging just to be fun and engaging, they started to count the money and set the bar really high for profit is what drove the development of the games
RUN FOREST, RUN!
I honestly never understood the appeal of watching someone else doing the fun stuff. If i want to play a game, i play the game, not log in to twitch. It's like being hungry and watching a cooking show instead of making a sandwich.
Well, he didn't really care about hots, didn't even know the 6 european teams in a league that he controlled, no wonder that stuff was mismanaged.
But the forum posts said it was the casual players that killed off the games, except for WOW everyone says that the WOW token killed that off. Oh, but wait then there is that forum post about how hardcore players killed off the games. Evidently if we are to go by every thing then everyone has killed off all of it....yep it's all a heaping smoldering pile of ruin.....except that it's not....Its almost like Blizzard games are Schrödinger's cat, alive and dead at the same time.
esports shouldnt be forced into wow, it happens more naturally and can be player driven. Look at the race to world first when a new tier comes out, thats the only wow event ill watch and that is player/community driven. I hope this guy continues to do well but i dont think he was needed in WoW, i preferred wow when there wasnt really any esports and content was released on a more consistant level :)
esports needs to be stopped especially for rpg games like wow
so, now is Blizzard going to replace all the snow in the game with something else ?
