Adding some is a bad idea imo, all they needed to do was add a 1-2 min debuff to players who get effected by drums and they're done. That or make them raid wide with the 1 min debuff, so you can use one every minute.
20 yards, raid-wide, melee haste only;-)
Just make this crap affect all raid members and 40 yards for the normal one, this is just adding more layers of minmaxing of people running ZA for the recipe ressed.
You can run ZA every 3 days, and you won't need them until SWP. By then they'll be everywhere. This is a very good solution, but of course the idiots that want a power boost will whine about it. The drums were buffed in ZA, which is why no one used them prior to that. This will mirror the original TBC, and at the same time not force people into LW the entirety of the expansion. By SWP, it won't matter, because you can easily drop a primary profession, and only the hardcore will make it that far anyways. Aside from the people butthurt about wanting powercreep, idk how you can be dissatisfied with this solution.
the idea of letting everyone use drums outside leatherworkers is just silly to me. This is a healthy barrier so that shamans as a class can bring this to the table and feel needed. retail has gone way out of bounds to take that identity from them in a sense where they almost don't matter outside resto. BUT....if your willing to put in the work as a leatherworker from the immersive perspective to have the right to use the drums you create or other LW's create. That sounds like a good healthy way to use the spell and still allow the shamans of this era still feel like a wanted class for the buff.
The people I play with are less concerned about "GIVE ME MORE POWER!" and more concerned that it's powerful enough that top tier guilds will basically be demanding their mains all take LW for 100% uptime. That has weird knock-on effects on the whole economy too, as it increases the value of other professions, but also bumps up the price of LW mats.
Do you see now why today's Blizzard cannot be trusted to make changes? Not only did they screw up the thing people wanted them to change, but they immediately came out with stuff nobody asked for, like paid level boosts and new store mounts...
these drums are terrible,. 8 yard range really? Pathetic I usually only get 1 or 2 people in range
