The original Sunken Temple is one of the dungeons I missed very dearly when they got butchered in Cataclysm.
This is probably the dungeon that made me hate life itself. Don't get me wrong, when after hours you finally finished it, it felt great. But Jesus I hated that god-forsaken place.
cata ruined this dungeon it was original lot bigger

People were always confused about there being a lower part and an upper part. There was a relatively hidden pathway between them. The lower part had 1 or 2 quests and was rarely run, with a mini boss at the bottom of this well thingy. The upper part (with the 6 named troll guys) was the most frequented because that had the best loots, quests, and final boss.
Before Cata ruined this dungeon, I used to level 50 characters through here on my level 70 toon. Wonder if I can remember my way around like I did back then LOL
I remember this place being absolutely brutal back in vanilla, but also fun lol
Oh, tried to farm Dragon Call from 50 to 55 lvl with 60 lvl Shamans around hehewas fun tho! looking forward the oldie goldie sunken temple :D
This was one of my favorite dungeons in Vanilla. I was pretty big, maze like and hard, but FUN!
Ah dang I remember this! It was gigantic and an absolute blast to go through.
The six minibosses can drop Atal'ai Spaulders, which had bonus armor. I solo farmed them at 60 for my bear tank, prowling to avoid trash. when I finally got the stats I wanted (was it monkey, tiger, I don't remember) I was thrilled. Sadly I can't xmog to those ugly shoulders when feeling nostalgic on live, they stopped dropping when cata trimmed the dungeon. Memories like that is why I have some interest in classic. If I last that long in it, I can't wait to sport those giant green flaps.
This dungeon was the first time I got to feel like a big shot in WoW. I was just a wee hunter (a bad one), but during the leveling process I ran the place so often that I had the entire thing committed to memory, from the layout itself to how you were supposed to.. do the ritual? Hit the drums or something? I can't remember now, but back then every time I got in a group that wasn't certain on the way it felt real good taking lead. It sounds lame now but when you're a teenager just that little bit was enough to feel cool for once. Of course it was short lived because the time I had it memorized Cata came blazing in. I'm really looking forward to running it again, to see what I can still remember of it. Same for some of the other dungeons that got redone like Scholomance (if that was out at this point?) and the Scarlet Monastery stuff.
I used to have the Thottbot page favourited for the order in which you poke the snakes. Now I got a new page, thanks!
This was easily my fav old-world dungeon before cata hit!
