Continue playing my current Classic character on my existing server that will never progress past level 60, with the option to transfer to a Burning Crusade server. It is certainly my choice! With the option to copy your character to this server, preserving level 60 in Classic server.
Would definatly play TBC!
"Continue playing my classic character on a perma 60 server. When the BC servers come out, have a copy of all my characters on that server as well. " Should have been an option. If blizz puts the servers down for maintenance once and copies all of everyones characters at the same time to the new bc servers, there shouldn't be any item dupe memes possible.
100% copy from Classic to TBC server. What else?
All that talk about "simple copying to TBC server from Classic" as if that is actually a solid option.WTF are you thinking, people?Sure, let's do option D. And then watch people whine and complain on every single forum possible due to:1) Your 3-years-in-the-making Classic character losing his/her name just because some passing by tourist took it as he logged on 2 seconds earlier than you.2) The whole community of your server with its guilds, people and general atmosphere facing an organizational nightmare (like guilds needing to reform from the ground up, the entire communities trying to group up for transfer on the same server, all auction house lots vanishing, etc., hope you got the idea).People that want a new content should not be the one to transfer anywhere. Those who want to freeze themselves in phase 6 should. Not to mention that a lot of folks who still play WoW Classic today have spent huge amount of time on private servers. They already used to constant transfers anyway. So yea, option A, and A only.
I don't understand why there isn't the option to COPY my character. The middle options seem ridiculous, as of course there will be the option to make new characters @ lvl 1. Why would there be a restriction of only making new characters? If there was then @ lvl 58 is at least less punishment for wanting to play "Classic" BC.The first and second option really come down to how much of "my" server wants to play "Classic" BC vs. how many want to stay "Classic" Vanilla & keep the community together. Either way, the best way to move to BC, IMO, would be to COPY the character(s). That way I don't loose the progress I made on my Vanilla toon while moving on to BC & retaining the ability to still play that toon in a permanent Vanilla setting.
Continue your epic journeys on your classic lvl 60 toon of course. Dohhh. obviously :D
I second a one-time copy of all my characters to a TBC server. Or, if they're going to progress the current servers to TBC, I want a one-time copy of all of my characters to one of the new Classic servers. That way, we get the best of both worlds— the actual TBC launch experience and having all of our efforts in Classic make a difference for our TBC play AND the opportunity to continue to play/progress those characters in the original level 60 content as well. I think a character "transfer" is unnecessarily restrictive and will hurt the WoW Classic community more than a one-time character copy.
@#$% TBC. This sucks.
GIMME!
How come I didn't receive this survey? I'm quite active in classic since day1
I think the best option is a combination of C and D. If someone wants to stay in Classic, they can. If someone wants to play through TBC with their Classic character, they can. If someone doesn't have/want to level a Classic character to transfer, but wants to play TBC, they can level in TBC instead. If someone wants to stay in Classic, but also wants to play through TBC with their Classic character, then tough luck. Level a new character in TBC. It's essentially the same thing as making an alt. This way is also the truest to how it was back then, but even better. You can now actually choose to preserve your Classic character.Edit: The copying solution would come with a few issues, but if Blizzard can work those issues out, then the players that want to do both would be much better off.
I'm think I would enjoy playing either a BC or Wrath server. I enjoyed experiencing Classic as I was barely into WoW when BC started, but the truth of it is, it's lacking too many QoL improvements from BC that help make the game sustainably enjoyable to me. I'm hoping it's completely disconnected and separate from Classic, as-in, I don't want character copy from the Classic servers. I'm torn on this (and feel a little hypocritical) because I give no-flight folks grief for saying they don't want me to fly because they don't want to fly. That said, it still feels like everyone should start on equal ground (no pun intended) and start the leveling process on the BC servers at level 1.On the other hand, it took me two months to level on the Classic server. I guess my optimal goal would be to have everyone start fresh, but have the nerfed XP from 2.3.0 to get through 1-60 (I think that's right), or even a bigger nerf for 1-60, so we can get to outland faster, but still have a similar feeling to leveling a new character. Level 58-70 XP should remain unchanged from the original Outland XP.
Splitting the classic playerbase is not a good idea , there just isnt enough players to warrant it. No matter what Blizzard does there will be winners and losers so stop trying to cater to so many different people and just pick one and stick to it. Classic + or roll all classic servers to TBC.
