Blizzard on Class Design Progress on Dragonflight Beta - Design Iteration Phase Over, Moving to Tuning and Bug Fixes

We feel it would be useful to let everyone know where we are in the development of Dragonflight classes and talent design. With the next Beta/PTR build, we’re transitioning away from spending the majority of our time on the design iteration of the new talent trees, and we’re now primarily focused on fixing bugs and tuning the game. This includes balancing talent choices against each other and tuning the throughput of each class. We want to ensure that we release an expansion of the highest quality for this incredible community.That being said, the new talent systems constitute a tremendous change to the game and represent a fundamental overhaul to how classes and specializations are customized by players. It is our expectation that we will be making adjustments based on your feedback throughout the expansion’s lifetime. We greatly appreciate all of your testing and feedback thus far, and we’re looking forward to delivering improvements to all of the talent trees in content updates throughout Dragonflight.

But who am I kidding, I'm sure Spellwarding and a bit of Consecration interaction was all Rets needed to guarantee a raid spot. Meanwhile all Feral needed certainly was... nothing apparently.Comment by AesyricA bit disappointed we didn't get more attention for Retribution, or at least a more dedicated look at paladins in general. I'm gonna go with it's not in tuning phase yet considering they drove a forum post last week with 200 comments over 6 months to over 900 comments in the period of 1 week.

Giving the greenlight to a half finished system just so you can release the expansion this year, why not delay it and give talent trees the time they need?

Literally the same issue we had borrowed power systems in the past, except it's talent trees now. Ship a unfinished product and then maybe fix it years later? Why? Just so you can feed us another rushed expansion when players have been asking for a delay this entire time?

I'm more hyped for Wrath re-release than Dragonflight because of this awful management. At this point it feels like Holy and Ret got nothing new with the entire revamp, while Prot got shot in the knee. Kinda hard to be satisfied with that when we log onto wowhead to find dev comments on Hunters thrice a week.Comment by TysightNow for the real challenge. I hope they can balance better than what we got for all of shadowlands. I hope for a good balance spread for both classes and content.
