1. Fairly certain that this neck would grant 40mp5 for 10 seconds. This is based on the reference to the melee version of the neck:

"Increases Your Attack Power By 200, lasts 10sec" --- Aldor Exalted

"Improves Your Critical Rating By 100, lasts 10sec" ---Scryer Exalted

As you can see, they use the exact ratios on the epic gems with a factor of 10.

2. Based on conjecture, the proc would have a 45 second cd like every other Use: Item introduced since 2.3

3. If the neck does grant 40mp5 for 10s (80 mana) and does have a a cooldown of 45s. We could very safely assume that the proc has a maximum yield of 8.88mp5. In other words, this neck is potentially 70healing 15mp5. Very comparable to Amulet of Flowing Life.

4. As a paladin with jewelcrafting, I would use Amulet of Flowing Life (slot 11heal 2mp5) in a heartbeat over this due to the int and haste. This is still a very powerful neck for non-jewelcrafters though.

If you are a Scryer, the proc will heal your target for 618-682; this ability will crit based on your spell crit rate.

Like the other SSO necklaces, this ability has a 45 second cooldown on its proc.

When the Scryer ability procs, it will heal whomever you have just healed.

it would appear that the aldor proc isn't as good as the scryer proc unless you're spamming heals heavily in the 10 seconds it's up... also does anyone know if there is a hidden cooldown on this item and what's the proc rate?

because when 2.4 comes out i'm looking towards getting https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=34360#comments ... by comparison the amulet of flowing life has 16 more +healing with a teardrop crimson spinal ... and there's 3 more mp5 on the amulet of flowing life...

by choosing the amulet of flowing life i'll get

+16 healing
+3 mp5
+8 stamina
+19 intellect
+25 haste rating
...but i loose the proc of chance to increase +healing by 220 for 10 seconds

i'm leaning towards the amulet of flowing life

Been playing around with the neck as a Scryer, it procs off of Lifebloom and Rejuvenation ticks but not the actual application of the HoT meaning if someone is at 100% and you Lifebloom them, it should have a chance to proc off the actual bloom, but it won't proc off the HoT part if they aren't below 100%, while not being affected by +healing it can crit for about 900-1,000.

Looking at a quick 8 minute log of keeping Lifebloom rolling on an elite, it seems like it has a 40-50 second hidden cool down.

I was curious as I know this is primarily a healer neck piece but is it possible to proc off of a warlocks drain life since that is direct healing to the warlock?

I just bought and tested this necklace. The internal CD is 45 sec for the Scryer proc(Arcane Surge). The bonus heal isn't affected by +healing and hits for ~650 and crits for 1k. It procs off of direct heals and healing done by hots. I spammed lifebloom on myself at full hp and it never procced. After I dueled a friend the hots that brought me back to full health DID proc the Arcane Surge.

Stop rating down comments that say this necklace does proc from hots because it does. However, this assumes the tick actually does some healing so all you who say it doesnt proc when you stand there casting whatever hot on yourself are also correct.

So it procs from:

HoT ticks that actually heal
Direct healing spells regardless of overhealing or not

Personally I found this a bit, for a lack better words Bleh. Hell my Vindicators Neck is more practical. I'm one of those Priests still stuck in PMC, thus my HP is on the low side ~8k. The lost of HP / INT was a bit too much for a gimmick proc. Just like the half cast meta, you soon discover it procs when you really don't need it.

But on the other hand, if you are a new Priest, by all means get it.

As a PvP-oriented Resto Shaman, I decided to compare the two reputation buffs. In Arena, Lesser Healing Wave is our main cast. It has a +heal benefit coefficient of 42.86%. We assume we have zero haste effects and, by knowing so, we know the GCD will be irrelevant due to 1.5 sec cast time. I'm not sure whether or not the +heal is calculated before or after the cast begins, so I do Aldor's two ways.

For Aldor we assume we spam LHW...
(10s)*(1 cast/1.5s) = 6.667 casts rounded down is 6 casts.
(6 casts) * (220 buffed healing * .4286 healing coefficient) = 565.75 healed.

(10s)*(1 cast/1.5s) = 6.667 casts rounded up is 7 casts.
(7 casts) * (220 buffed healing * .4286 healing coefficient) = 660.04 healed.

For Scryer the heal is a static 618-682 heal.

Therefore, the procs are equal assuming that each does 100% effective healing and that you can manage 6-7 LHW casts within the 10 sec time frame. The proc rate is high enough to consider it to be negligible. Realistically, I find it to be a sidegrade to https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=33922 in PvP and pretty nice if you already have enough Stam/Resil.

Some things to consider would be that the Aldor proc can gain more benefit if Earth Shield is cast while it is up. Also, it can be used during the preparation time to give an added boost to your Earth Shield. In favor of the Scryer proc, it can be used when you are stunned, silenced, or somehow unable to cast. The Scyrer proc also doesn't require burning a GCD and has an odd targeting nature.

I'd like to know if the proc goes off on Earth Shield, does that trigger the cooldown on the neckpiece or can you use the proc twice within 45 sec using a combination of Earth Shield and direct healing? I haven't found any testing that proves this to be true, but I haven't really been looking for it either.

i tested scryers proc today. during tests i had 2244 +healing done and 12,67% crit rate.

i casted 201 flash heals and healed 537k with 11,9% crit rate, arcane surge proced 8 times and healed 6183 with 30,7% crit rate. values taken from swstats addon.

arcane surge adds around 30 ( 6183/ 201 ) effective heal to each flash heal.
each 10 +healing done increases flash heal effective heal by 5,7 (drdamage addon) so to get 30 efective heal i need around 50 +healing done.

it looks like this proc is equal to 50 +healing done in my case.

It does proc off ticks

I was testing out to see if theres an hidden cd on the neck yesteraday with this macro on ppl dueling in Ironforge:

/castsequence reset=15/target Lifebloom, Lifebloom, Rejuvenation, Lifebloom

it doesnt seem to have a hidden cd for scryer as it procs off both Lifebloom and Rejuvenation ticks

I m scryer exalted.

The chance to crit on the heals is roughly 1k healing and it does seems to be affected by your spell crit.

I'm having difficulty comparing this to something like Kara Spirit Necklace or even the blue version of that necklace Here for an Al'dor Druid

Over the blue version it has 35 more healing naturally, the proc I'm reading equals out to another 30-40 healing depending on the situation. From some quick gear swapping I found the blue has more mp5 than this, and has Raw stats on it. The Kara epic version shortens the gap in +healing and has even MORE raw stats on it...

The basic question is all about giving up all the raw Intel/Spirit and alittle mp5 for the extra +healing...

EDIT: I got two warlocks to stand in IF, life tapping to test chain heal across three people. From my combat log, the Arcane Surge would only proc on one person out of the three chain heal hit, and who it proc'd on is completely random. The usefulness of the Scryer proc seems even less now that I realise this.

Does anyone know how the Scryer proc (Arcane Surge) effects a shaman's chain heals? If it procs, does the extra heal divide itself amongst the three people or does it only count towards the first person in the chain? Since there is no visual evidence when the neck procs, and it's hard to sift through my combat log during raids, I haven't had the controlled atmosphere to test this for myself.

I take back what I previously said about the Aldor version, it's a lot more useful than it appeared to me at first, procing rather often and on renews (but not on PoM). By throwing out renews where possible and necessary I can gain a lot from those 10 seconds.

It's especially fun to combine Essence of the Martyr with it at the same time to max out the most of your possible healing, I was at +2700~ healing with those two. And I'm in casual epic healing gear.

This pendant can proc off the heal from the Vial of the Sunwell, which is free healing in and of itself, giving the Scryer healer a chance to get a free double crit for approximately 4000 instant healing once every 2 minutes. Not quite a Nature's Swiftness, but interesting in theory at least.

Funny thing, in terms of relative power gain this neck blows the DPS caster one out of the water. I'd put the DPS neck around Kara level (it's proper ilevel) while this one can't be beat until either ZA or Kael'thas, depending on how much you like spell haste.

Oh, and no...even if you're a holy priest, Teeth Of Gruul is not better.

I also discovered that Paladins' Holy Shock also activates the proc. Or at least the Aldor proc, as my pally's Aldor - would probably do the same for the Scryers too.

Flash of Light coefficient, 42.86% = ~94 +Healing.
Holy Light coefficient, 71.43% = ~157 +Healing

Over the course of ten seconds, you'll probably be able to cast 6 Flash of Lights (possibly 7 depending on latency issues). That would be a total gain of 6 * 94 = 564 extra healing. If you assume two out of the six crit, that's roughly an extra 100 healing as well, for a total of ~650 extra healing.

You would also be able to cast 5 Holy Lights (assuming Light's Grace is in effect). 5 * 157 = 785 Healing. If you have one crit, you'd gain an extra 75 healing, and two crits would yield an extra 150. Depending on crit rating and luck, that's an additional 850-925 healing.

Based on reports here, the Scryer proc heals for roughly 650 regular and 1000 crit. If it crits a third of the time, that's an average of ~765 healed per proc.

Flash of Light (Aldor Proc) - ~650 Healing
Holy Light (Aldor Proc) - ~850-925 Healing
Scryer Proc - ~765 Healing

The Scryer proc offers a better potential gain than the Aldor Proc with Flash of Light, but the Aldor Proc with Holy Light offers the best return.

With that in mind, I'd take the Aldor proc over the Scryer proc any day. If I'm constantly using Flash of Light, I'm probably either raid healing or topping off a tank that isn't falling low on health. Chances are any extra healing (to the tune of 650-1000 per heal) may be wasted in over healing.

On the other hand, if I'm spamming Holy Light, I'm probably trying to save the tank. This is the place where overhealing is unlikely, but Holy Light offers a better return on healing than the Scryer proc.

Anyone else having problems with this not going off at all? I'm not seeing the buff in my buff bar, the word's Light's Salvation on my screen, nor is it in any combat logs.

I read on another site that the procs were something along the lines of +220 Spell healing / 74 damage for 10seconds Aldor, and an instant heal of 600 or so, unaffected by personal spell power Scryer.

Dunno if this is acurate, just posting here so people know what I read.
