This is a nice tanking weapon possibility for paladins. The speed, though, is a little slow (you'll miss 1 of your reckoning procs if you spec for it).

I find it somewhat irksome that every caster sword has crit or haste, while every caster mace has spell hit and a bunch of stamina. Hit is only useful up to a point, and for certain types of casters that can use maces and not swords, more crit is always helpful. Namely, moonkins and elemental shamans, which makes most of the caster daggers out there significantly more attractive items than the maces. However, we have to roll against mages and warlocks that want these items too, while they don't have any competition from us for their caster swords.

I understand Blizzard is trying to throw a bone to Prot paladins, but honestly there are plenty of options out there already that already have more or less the same stats, namely, maces with high stamina, spell damage, and spell hit.

https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30832 is the only exception I can find, and once you get beyond that level of gear, there is no mace with spell crit. I'm sure there are those who will say it makes sense to make it easier for the "pure" caster classes to get weapons with crit, and I suppose I can buy that to an extent, since there are certainly more mages than moonkins. But it does mean we are almost always left taking some less desirable stat on our weapons, like hit that is only useful on bosses (and marginally so in endgame play) vs. the crit that we want all the time.

It would be nice if there were at least ONE high level one-handed mace that gave up hit for crit, or had both.

FINALLY a +130 1h spelldmg weapon usable by priests from revered faction rep!

I have never understood why KoT offered a revered 1h ~+130ish spelldmg sword, but no comparable item existed for priests to use (or paladins, I suppose as well).

This is another rare "One-Hand" spell damage weapon that 30/31/0 Shaman can duel wield.
The spec is good fun in pvp... but was only really viable because of The Maelstrom's fury as an Epic T6 quality offhand.

Blue-quality Shaman can still give the novelty spec a go by using this... although I dare say it will be changed to a Main-hand at some stage in the future also.

With 130 damage on your offhand, you're better off using a shield and a normal elemental spec.
You can still go into Enhancement for the defence... but it's not really worth it.

Thanks for that Blizzard... god forbid we have a little silly fun with a novelty build.

As of the 2nd of April, this is no longer 'one-hand'. It is now 'main-hand'-only

You can therefore no longer dual-wield this item.

Comparable to https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29185 wich is basicly the standard pre raiding weapon for a Tankadin.

I asume we will see alot less Continuum Blade´s in the future since farming rep f is way easier for this mace then for the sword.

What you think is more valuable is probably more about taste but I´d prefere the sword because of the faster speed but the difference between the two makes it more a matter of taste then real importance for your performance.

(This mace how ever look terrible wich is one thing that also shoudl be taken into the equation ;)

This mace is actually very comparable to the Continuum Blade for a tanking Paladin. Specifically, it makes SoV much more reliable (in that it procs more often from a slower weapon). While it can't compare to the Lower City rep mace for SoV, it's a close second. I may even go so far as to keep the Continuum Blade for trash pulls, and use this one on bosses to keep SoV up.
