One of the highest +dmg rings if socketed with a +12dmg gem. In addition, one of the ONLY damage items available to clothies than had points spent on mana regen. Those two combined (mainly the high +dmg) makes this one of the best rings available to shadow priests until Hyjal/BT, but less useful for other clothies due to the lack of hit/crit/haste.

For other spellcasters, I would assume it's of less use to shammies and doomkin. Shammies rely heavily on crit rating both the increase damage and get mana return; likewise, crit for druids gives damage returns by speeding up subsequent casts. Those who aren't able to get shadow priests or JoW, however, may appreciate the extra regen, and of course could gem it to offer at least a little crit or more +dmg.

I'd have to agree with everyone else, this seems primarily geared towards shadow priests. Mp5 and Spell damage - you want that shadow priest to have a lot of it. Because getting mana back from a priest full of those stats is worth way more than giving it to other classes.

As a shadow priest and a jewelcrafter, I'm considering putting Kailee's Rose into this. Equivalent spell damage to a Runed Living Ruby, but also makes this a great healing ring too (bringing it up to 55 healing and 10 mp5, better than Band of Halos for instance). Elemental shaman and moonkin may want to do the same.

Of course, if you have access to BT gems then the 12 spell damage of a Runed Crimson Spinel is hard to beat.

(For what it's worth, I plan on sticking Don Julio's Heart into Carved Witch Doctor's Stick).

A little tip. If you got your hands on this ring and your still not in BT or wanna throw money on a expensive 12spelldmg gem. There's a pvpgem for a decent ammount of honor :) Though it's unique equipped so you can only have one of thease. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28118

Everyone's saying 12 spell damage this and 14 spell damage that, but that's not taking everything into account. (Not talking to guilds in BT/Hyjal that have plenty of crimson spinels to throw around).

It's misleading to claim this is "omfg imba damage" cause you put a unique-equipped gem in it. That just takes away from you being able to put it in a piece of gear that actually has a red socket in it.

That being said, I think this is a really good canidate to put the heroic BF gem in ( https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30600 ). 6 damage and 4 spirit becomes 8 damage with the bonus. Assuming you put your unique-equipped 12 and 14 damage gems in RED SLOTS on some other gear, the gem in this ring would be 9 damage. That's 4 spirit for 1 damage, and might help you satisfy the blue gem requirements of some meta.

(And if you're wearing this you want mp5, which spirit can help with).

Win win imo.

Nobody is mentioning Palys here?

I´m working on a protpaly atm and one problem I got is that my manapool never seems deep enough. Another is that to socketbonuses out of items you are loosing stamina wich we all know is important for a tank, so often it´s basicly giving up HP or giving up something else, I know socketbonuses isn´t the most important thing in the world but it´s still free stats/bonuses wich togather add up. Maybe there´s just a lack of good gear to get your hands on all togather (try geting a good weapon prior to level 65 for example.)

Here we have a ring with some spelldmg for more threat (wich isn´t very easy to get from gear other then your weapon), with nice stats, mp5 and a BLUE gem so I can even put a HP-gem in it and get the bonus.

I admit I´m not that experienced as a palytank but it look to me that this would be a very nice ring for us. Maybe if I could get an opinion from someone who is?

A paladin may not need it for say mana reasons. However it's decent HP (socketed right) and its +spell damage. If you just have a stam/def ring... this is going to let you AoE tank just a tid better.

In no means should a paladin have top dibs on it, but don't pass the roll on it either.

probably the best shadow priest ring in the game (41 dmg with a runed crimson spinel in it). too bad it's unique :(

Thats actaully a very good resto shaman healing ring also... DPS is gonna be pissed if I win it but the Mp5 makes it better than anything except BT drops

I just got this ring today, and as a Moonkin I can't find anything that even remotely rivals this. The gem socket is blue which doesn't usually get peoples eyes to light up, but I took a little different approach when gemming. Because the set socket bonus is an obvious boost, you want to get the proper gem in there, I opted for the +9 healing and +2 mp5 (Royal Nightseye?) Reason for doing so, with the changes they made to +healing items, you also get +3 spell dmg. From heroic dungeons there's a +11 healin +2 mp5 gem.. which I believe you get 4 spell dmg out of it, so you're talking 1 spell dmg less than a potent noble, or whateva. mp5 being sooooo critical to Moonkin DPS this seemed like the best way to go. On my server there's like 1 (me) moonkin that does DPS in raids, so I was hoping for some input from other moonkin of other raiding guilds that may have some ideas for boosting lasting power.
