I just have mine in my bank as a symbol of "victory" over stitches.

Finally I know that I don't need to do anything with this letter. All this time I was wondering which quest I forgot to do, or where I forgot to turn it in!

So..everything up there ^^^ is crap. Go to Darkshire
and read the letter. You'll notice that the NPC's start saying things. Wait for Stiches to come out. you may wanna /1 and tell everyone NOT TO KILL STITCHES. Wait for him to get into town (as he is a 35 elite and the town is the best place for you to get help killing him) and kill him. He'll drop "Stiches Femur" (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19599/pebble-of-kajaro).

IF you read the letter in Darkshire and nothing happens...go do a quest or two and come back to it. It took me about 20 minutes of constantly reading the letter in DS to get stitches up and about.

You also may need to get a party for this quest as he is a 35 elite.

im level 57 now and i never realised i had this untill now~ it just stayed in my bag all this time... its something i thought was just quest item cause theres so many hard to keep track which for which quest and which ones useless or not like the 'library scrip'
wasted this space all this time hehe..

You don't really even need this unless you want some fun of killing a lvl 33 elite. I just destroyed it after killing him.

I was walking along the road and i saw him and took him down. you don't even need this letter to summon him at all.

Haha stitches is a !@#$% even for a lvl 39 pally who refuses to heal and a lvl 40 lock oh and a lvl 27 lock but I didnt really help much lol. We killed him 3 times, once for each of us to get that femur, even though its garbage IMO. He is hard dont care what you say that !@#$%^ hits hard.

apparently,after stitches has been summoned by handing in the previous quest or after someone else has handed in this quest,stitches appears out of his cage at the back of the graveyard.after killing him this spawns a NPC who randomly walks up and down.You speak to him and this is where you hand in the quest.I spent half a hour on my mount walking up and down trying to find him after slaying stitches and could not find him.Gave up and abandoned quest.

So I killed Stitches earlier prior to ever getting this letter. Do you get anything special for killing him when you have the letter? Or is it just wasting space in my bag?

Ok, so... what happens if you read it for the first time, weren't aware that it summoned Stitches, and therefor didn't kill him?

What if much later, you are in a group with fellow guildies and you all kill him. What do you do with the letter then?

its does not whatter where or when you read the letter,, if an when you figure out your to read it in abercrombies presence he will spawn,, i ninja clicked the letter in front of my ole pal al an was swated to death in short order,, this mob is indeed eliete,, best wishes an good hunting

This letter doesn't actually spawn Stitches, and his arrival has nothing to do with the reading of this letter. Stitches is spawned when you complete the "Translation to Ello" quest, which coincidentally is also when you receive the "Translated Letter from The Embalmer" from Lord Ello Ebonlocke. The letter, along with Stitches' Femur if you are lucky enough, are just memorabilia.

The letter itself is trash throw it away, it does nothing, never has done anything except give the player a sense of what just went down, a fuition to the storyline. If you have it, then you have completed the entire quest line. The letter has nothing at all to do with the spawning of stitches...this is myth. When you complete and turn in the quest "Translation to Ello" you will be rewarded Xp+Rep+this letter. Even if you dont as much as look at it in your backpack, Stitches is already on his way. Reading the letter anywhere does nothing at all. Next to Abercrombie's shack, next to Ebonlocke himself, next to the Crown prince in Stormwind, next to a Bluegill murlock in the Wetlands or an outhouse in the burning steppes. Even if the letter was read by Norris on full moon, after a server-wide restart, riding on the back of Onyxia while doing a daily bombing runs at the Isle of Quel'Danas. This letter does nothing. Although the last one has not been fully tested Mr.Norris was unable to make any definate schedule with our film crew until Ony came forward and publicly applogizes for the the slander related to the "Toe nail clipping incident" in 05'
