You can get this by handing in the Storms deck that can be created by gathering the ace through eight of Storms cards that drop off random 61-70 monsters.

The Ace can drop of any of the last bosses in a 68+ instance, heroic or normal.

For Combat Rogues (Dagger or Fist) with high crit chances this might not be the best trinket; however, a trinket like this could be very useful for a Hemo Rogue (lower crit chance) especially if stacked with the Crusader Card (adds AP each melee hit) and a Sinister Calling/Deadliness build.

As already pointed out, this trinket is very powerful if you have a low crit chance while using crittable spells mainly, and ideally also benefit from critical strikes through talents.

Those are typically:

- Undergeared characters of a lot of classes.
- Healers that are healing specced and wanna use this as part of a secondary damage set.

A holy priest with searing light and surge of light would be a perfect example of what this trinket can do for you in a offspec role.

I can also see this trinket useful for marksmanship hunters, who are usually not that high on crit chance from items, while having mortal shots which gives a good crit damage bonus.

There are most definately other classes/specs that work too, feel free to add them.

Just tested it. As long as you don't hit critical, it will stack. So in theory you could have a crit rate of 100%, which is about a stack of a few hundred. (You'll hit with a crit before that happens.)

Have any elemental shamans used this card? Usually we have a very high crit rate... I know mine is about 26% with hodge podge gear. But even so this would guarantee steady and reliable critting rather than "dry periods"... but is it better than, say, the nexus horn, the lightning capacitator, or the icon of the silver crescent?
Not that I'm even sure which two out of those three is the best... >_<

Can you have both melee crit and spell crit buff on at the same time? say, a dw shaman and he shocks when cd is up, can he get full use of this trinket? If so, elemental devastation talent will be a very good choice working with this trinket.

alot of people are thinking of this trinket as a simple +Crit trinket, which is fine, but i feel that you are missing the true power of this trinket. This power is that it gives you a GURANTEED crit every "X" seconds.

This guranteed crit every "X" seconds works well with quite a few abilities, the main one (that i can think of) being the paladin Retri talent "Vengence" and the new way in which it works. This basically alows a paladin to keep the 15% damage buff up constantly with this guarnateed crit (provided the "X" time period is short enough). There are other items and abilities that could work well with this like the lightening capacitor previously mentioned, i cant think of them all but there are quite a few :)

The "X" time period of course works off of a number of factors
Avarage time between hits
Standard Crit Chance
and im sure some clever person can pick up where i leave off by actually working this out with some actual numbers, just i dont have the time :)

For Paladins:

It seems only Seal of Command (and probably Blood) counts as a direct damage. Also: Crusader Strike, Judgements, Holy Wrath, Exorcism, the FIRST TICK of Consecration, and Hammer of Wrath.

Eye for an Eye and Ret aura do NOT count as direct damage.

So, the above chart, while viable for auto-attacking, does not hold true as a flat crit % equivalent when thinking about how a Paladin actually does damage. In reality, the card is worth much more crit than is listed on that chart.

For mages, I think this is pretty worthless unless you have a really really low crit rating. I rarely ever go more than 4 spells without a crit, which is the only time this trinket would be better than any of the other crit trinkets out there. Quag's eye, Xi'ri's gift, and the Nexus horn are all still better dps trinkets.

These proc or can be used much more often then I go on insane dry spells without a crit.

The most powerful aspect of this trinket as I see it is that the chance of long streaks of no crits will be drastically reduced. The maths indicate that it doesn't give you that much extra crit, but the power of this trinket (as I see it) is that it will give you crits when you really really want them. After a non crit streak your crit chance will be increased singnificantly which reduces the chance of the non crit streak to continue. This is very good for fury warriors, where flurry uptime is very important for your sustained dps and for keeping rampage up.

There is no "guaranteed crit" if your crit rate isn't 100%.

In my opinion, it's not worth a whole lot. With my crit rate at 28%, it would give me an effective 22-25ish crit raiting bonus, and there are already trinkets with better crit than that, with +dmg procs. At 20% it looks to be around 24-35 crit rating bonus or so, which isn't bad, but I'd still rather have the 32 crit rating, +150 dmg proc trinket. If your crit's less than 20%, you probably have other gear issues you should be worried about before getting this thing.

I am currently collecting this and the Blessings deck. I'm playing a holy paladin, and for grinding purposes i use a full mele gear without spelldamage (mostly doomplate) with Seal of Blood which is working quite well (more efficient and faster than shocking).

As this trinket seems to be great for people with a low crit rate like myself (arround 16%) I started collecting it. But now i heard that it is not proccing of auto atacks or seals, so the only way for me to stck this would be wasting mana on judgements and holy shock?

Would be great if any paladin could try this with seal of blood and seal of righteousness and report back here. If this does indeed proc of seal of blood you could use this trinket while meleing a boss in healing gear to stack up crit rating and then heal people, because crit heals won't consume the buff.

This card can be incredible for those lacking crit in the long boss-fights, as it'll give you a huge buff to damage output. If your crit is fine you're probably better off with something else.

You are all thinking about the PVE, you don't need this trinket for it in a raid, you are already buffed a lot, i would choose better another one. Also in PVE farming is useless, there are plenty of nice trinkets more easily obtainable. I don't see this trinket as "Crit rating lack solution"
This is indeed a nearly High-End PVP trinket.
What I mean? Simply: with the release of TBC and with it the new Resilience rating stat is becoming really difficult to land crits, for example today i met a mage that i never landed a direct attack crit on him even if i have 30% crit, in that case i wished to have this trinket.
Obviously wasted against blue enemies, i'd see it more usefull on hardcore arena players.

Does this card proc off of Mind Flays (or other channeled spells)? And if so do they consume it? Cause this could be a great way for a shadow priest to charge up a higher chance to crit on a Mind Blast or SW:D and return a nice pile of mana to his party while spamming a spell that otherwise has no benefit from +spellcrit.

My gut says Crusade would still be better, but this could be a lower-cost alternative.

Well, it does "smooth out" your crits, meaning you're less likely to go on a "bad" streak. That could be important in shorter fights (e.g., trash pulls).

Another thing is that Hourglass and Tsunami both have internal cooldowns, so it's ideal to have them proc as soon as the cooldowns are over...this could help them by making sure you don't go too long without a crit.

I generally prefer "static" boosts rather than procs, but it seems like the card could be useful, anyway.

I just made a c++ app that calculates the crit rating you get passively, but I do not guarantee 100% correct values, they could be some % off. Just type in your crit % and the number of simulations you want to do, or just keep it as it is.

After testing this out naked on a high resilience player in a duel. It turns out the deck has a buff cap of 20 buffs which gives 15.60% crit.

Each Buff = .78% crit
Buff Cap = 20 buffs

Thought this would be useful to all the theorycrafters out there and for those of you considering this deck

This smoothes out the non-crit streaks for direct damage spells.

This is great for PVP because of the opponents resilience gear.

This is not a set% or an average%, it's effect varies based on your base crit and your opponents crit.

AOE, DOT's, and Channeled Spells other than arcane missles are not direct damage. This is why they don't crit.

Could this be a good trinket for paladin healers?

Basically a paladin could keep meleeing a boss (since a holy paladin has low melee crit rate) and wait until spell crit stacks.

Since healing isn't a direct damage effect, the paladin can make use of the spell crit for healing.

Just to get this straight - any non critting direct damage you do, either by spell/ability or by white damage will increase both your crit rating AND your spell crit rating in increments of 17 up to a cap of 340 (20 stacks).

This basically means that as a healer you CAN white damage (and hope you dont crit) to stack up on spell crit rating. This would be an utterly silly tactic though for several reasons. 8k greater heals dont count for much when the tank is dead.

There are perhaps a few bosses where this would be possible, but overall I am disappointed with the new Darkmoon Cards' viability for healers. Blue Dragon still pretty good for ToL droods and the occational spirit priest - other than that, nothing to pick up.

I'm a rogue and I just got this trinket today. My crit rating prior to getting this trinket was already around 34% as most of my gems are agil & +crit. Adding this trinket greatly increased the amount that I crit. However one of the reason I decided to get this card is because I for whatever reason like having a high crit percentage but that comes at a slight cost of atk pwr due to the fact that I could have +atk pwr gems in place of my +crit gems. After getting this trinket I changed into a second set of gear (i have 2 complete sets of Assassination) the second set of gear is mainly all atk pwr and hit rating gems. I ended up lowering my crit chance down to about 25% just from the armor change. But because of this trinket I was able to significantly raise my atk pwr without sacrificing my chance to crit. This is pretty nice. I have all the bonuses of frequent crits and the increased atk pwr and hit rating to help deliver a even bigger punch. In my opinion this is a awesome trinket for rogues looking for more atk pwr that don't want to lose crit, and I think it would team very nicely with trinket you get from the blessings deck. Why not just get the blessings to begin with and leave your current crit chance where it was (assuming it was high to begin with)? Because you can have both!!

Interesting side-note for shamans - flametongue (and potentially also frostbrand) procs wont add a buff when it procs, but it also wont remove them when it crits. It DOES however seemingly get its crit from spellcrit. As an elemental shaman I'm rolling with about 20% spell crit and 7% melee crit.

nice for raiding as a warlock if you have imp SB, since this helps give you more even spaced crits to keep shadow vuln up without a lot of redundancy. plus most warlocks don't have particularly high crit chance if they aren't dest.

I was wondering about this card and how it would affect an enhancement shaman. With the potential talent changes that I've heard through the web, this card is very interesting.

Enhancement shaman spell crit is usually pretty low, so you could earthshock to increase your melee crit. I also wonder how Windfury is taken into account.... does a hit + wf proc that don't crit count as 3 non crits for this trinket?

Taken into consideration with Elemental Devastation (offensive spell crits increase chance to get a melee crit by 3% for 10 seconds) and the future Shamanistic Focus (the mana cost of our shocks by 60% and has a chance to proc when we get a melee crit) and Mental quickness (+spell damage and healing = to 30% of attack power).

Could be pretty sweet.

I saw some people are saying this is worth less then a trinket that gives a solid 1% well i am going to state my case for it.
Ok being a hunter, who is BM spec'd i can very easily get off 10 shots in ten seconds, simply by spamming Steady + Auto and nothing else. So i can effectively gain an extra 6-7% to crit in that time if no crit comes before then, last time i checed thats a huge percentage! Now where this card really shines at for hunters is anyone who is survival or MM/Surv hybrid spec'd since it helps keep that expose weakness on the target. Not saying there arnt many other viable options in the trinket slots for a hunter, but this hard does have its uses.

Let's have some theorycrafters elaborate on the use for a frost specced mage in PvE.

General consensus is, frost spec needs to be at spell hit cap for bosses, meaning 165 spell hit rating with elemental precision. This means, one has to spend a hole bunch of item budget on spell hit.

Consider the current gear situation on the mage, which is basically heroic with occasional visits to Karazhan. In this situation, I'm likely to get spellhit and spelldamage rather than spell crit.

Usually, I have shatter, which _is_ my spell crit rating. Also, on trash I gear up differently, maximising crit (to a lesser extend) and damage (to a greater extend) at the cost of hitrating, which I don't need on sub boss level mobs.

On boss fights, Shatter is useless due to immunity and I need my spellhit. Here comes the great moment for this trinket. My buffed crit rate in boss mob gear is slightly below 20% (it's only a twink, so don't flame me too much about this), resulting in a noticeably lower dps output.

Might it be a good idea to put this trinket into my boss gear (exchanging it perhaps for Quagmirran's Eye, which I use in this setup next to the scryer bloodgem), thus giving me some boost to my damage?

An interesting note about this trinket. With 17 crit rating for every stack you only have to hit two succesive normal attacks and this trinket is up there with the Skyguard Silver Cross (disregarding the secondary effect of that trinket), hit three normal strikes and it gives more crit rating than any single trinket in the game.

Yes, you would need an abnormaly low crit % in order to maximize this trinket but the thing is, it doesn't have to stack umptheen times to be useful.
To me this trinket seems worth the effort for any class that require a steady rate of critical hits to proc abilities, even if the player already has a high base crit.

It procs off lightning shield, which is especially nice since lightning shield can't possibly crit, so it's added crit bonus every time you take damage.

Seems like this would be very nice for enchancement shaman.

The value of this scales down as your CRIT goes up, not as your gear goes up....this would allow you to get high end +hit gear and pure attack power gear instead of worrying so much about agility and +crit.

This trinket underperforms in PVE once you are over a 25% crit rate or so, there are many trinkets that add a lot more crit rating. For PVP, it is the best trinket in the game for any class that benefits from crit, due to the large amount of resilience that most players are carrying around.

I'm a mutilate rogue and i plan on using this item: yes i know i would be critting often on poorly geared people anyway and ofcourse this is not when the trinket comes to mind. But now your up against 400 resilience people and blimey... your not critting that often anymore... still you get crits of but not that often... making the trinket work allready. then there are those talents that make people crit immune... and THIS is where i really take it for... stacking up to about 15 stacks on a target while he is sort off crit immune and straight when the buff wears off hes getting a new mutilate into his back...

this trinket is sweetness working like retaliation.

32% base crit + about 7% from mongoose procs 10% more or less from this trinket and 15% crit bonus to mutilate next patch were looking at 64% chance to crit against a healer when the debuff wears off.. no resilience is going to help them now

Hmm... checking the buff it does appear that you can stack your spell crit by meleeing a bit, as it's a single buff boosting both melee and crit at the same time.

It's a minor, silly thing, it bit seems that, say, a Holy Priest who's solo grinding using Smite and this trinket can likely get a bigger crit rating bonus from the card by -meleeing- during the time they're casting instants.

eg, smite a mob a couple of times, autoattack them whilst casting renew and shield... probably get a couple of dagger stabs in there which would add 34 crit rating to the next spells. Obviously not what the card was intended for, but for a caster soloing it seems you can likely abuse the mechanic quite a bit, especially as with no melee stats your melee swings are incredibly unlikely to crit anyway even with the wrath boost.

I'm a shadow priest and I'm wondering about this trinket. I use mindflay, which can't crit, a lot during raids. Would this trinket up my crit chance for each tick of mind flay or just for the initial cast? Same for SW:P and Vampiric Touch?

Just wondering because if this is the case then I'd be building up quite the crit chance for when mind blast and SW:D come off CD.

This card will only proc off Spells and attacks that can crit. If the spell / attack can't crit you wont get anything from the trinket. So DOTs are unaffected, Consecreate is unaffected ( AOE DOT) It would only seem that Lightning shield is the only spell that cant crit that adds trinket stacks.

On a different note: All hunters please do not get this trinket. As a class we only have one spell that benefits from a crit and that's kill command. While that is fairly nice for BM hunters with their 20% bonus crit there's no need for it. Many hunters are sitting on a large amount of crit, this trinket will only get up to (on average) 3 - 5 stacks. I feel ashamed that I used this trinket rather than sold it, there are many other classes that could get much more benefit out of this.

I'm a Huntard specced 41/20/0, the basic BM Raiding spec. As a BM Huntard you don't go for crit so much as you do AP and other things, because you're looking for steady DPS, not just a chance to really hit it big, but with talents like Mortal Shots and Serpent's Swiftness you can actually find really really big usefulness in this trinket. As I'm sure most Hunters know, your DPS is based off the rotation of Steady Shots and Auto Shots. If you're BM Serpent's Swiftness almost perfectly times the rotation for you with a 2.9-3.1 attack speed ranged weapon. Since as a BM Hunter you hit the target about twice every 1.6-1.7 seconds this trinket shoots your crit through the roof, and with Mortal Shots you have 30% extra crit damage... Just imagine this, which for me has happened before. Heroism, Rapid Fire, Abacus of Violent Odds, and Improved Aspect of the Hawk. All at once... I fire about 0.6 second Steady Shot Auto Shot rotations for a few seconds.... with the crit from this trinket... you're probably critting the target at least once every 2 seconds, and when I was testing this on Prince Malchezaar I was getting off crits with every other shot, and 1/2 crits increases your overall DPS times 2.3 (With the talent) and since it's every other shot, that means you're dealing 115% normal damage if my math is right in every 2 shots. Everyone's comments are talking about how useful this is for Warriors or Shamans or Retadins... doesn't anyone consider how useful this is for a Hunter? Seriously, this is a HUGE buff for BM Hunters.

32 vs. 51 (+19) Becomes superior only after hitting 3 times without a crit.
32 vs. 68 (+36)

competing against a static 40 crit rate trinket

40 vs. 17 (-23)
40 vs. 34 (-6)
40 vs. 51 (+11)
40 vs. 68 (+28) Becomes superior only after hitting 4 times without a crit.
40 vs. 85 (+45)

Also none of this takes into account the "use" effect of the various static crit trinkets.

perfect for locks and priests imo, since their dots don't crit, but let it stack up and launch a shadow bolt/incinerate, or for priest, mind blast or shadow word: death, and BOOM i wonder how this affects on mages and blizzard since blizzard tics are considered DD... then dragon's breath/blast wave/cone of cold (would be a waste with a crit on frost nova, so weak) with the multiple mobs XD

as for dots, the initial dot is considered DD spell, the following damage from the dot isn't, so don't comment on that -_-; (however mind flay seems to have an affect as DD every 'tic' (and even if it didn't it's still only 3 seconds til the next non crit DD) tested, theory proven.

this card is worthless on an elemental shaman, at least for the 5x multiboxer.
I have 5x elemental shaman team and I have so-so gear with 15% crit rating, 5x totem of wrath gives me another 15% crit rating plus another 10% from talents in the elemental and resto trees.
I roughly have a 43-45% crit rating and get far more use out of a +spell dmg triket than this, even a triket that gives +crit on the first shot is better than this.

I couldn't even tell I had it on because I crit so fast it can't build up enough to make a difference.
I bet this is wonderful on a dual wielding melee fighter.

so I was planning on getting this beauty.. but i have 33%+ crit rating allready as feral druid (in cat form) so i may pop a crit every 3 hits.. and get only an average off +34 crit rating.

Not that good.. BUT!

When you are trying to kill a priest with 300 resilience rating.. wouldn't it help a bit? Would the crits absorbed by the shield be counted? Would the crit changed into non-crit by resilience be counted as well?

I know that crits changed into non-crits will be considered as crits form your opponent's side but.. well i was just wondering if this trinket wasn't the ultimate answer against resilience..

(and I'm french so this post must be full of mistake please forgive me)

I'm an MS Warrior. I look at this, and, while it looks nice at first, there are a lot of better trinkets that are... well, for a melee class, there are better trinkets. With full, 100% buffs, I end up with a 30% or higher crit rating, and I'm Sword Speced, in advance. So, it seems nice, but I'd rather a trinket that gave me AP and Crit over just Crit. However, for casters, this thing seems awesome. Wind it up, pop a cooldown for instant casting, and watch something go boom. That's fun. But, for melee? If you have a 15% crit rating, this is good. But, if yours is somewhere around 25%-30% or anything more, it's a waste. Or, at least, that's what I think.

Okay, I HOPE I'm not reading this wrong, cause I'm kinda tired this evening. Basically this gives you 17 spell/melee crit rating everytime your direct damage attacks don't crit. My question is... does the effect stack?-- Like say, you hit once, non crit, and you gain 17 crit... then you don't crit again, and now are up to 34 rating-- basically going up until a critical strike becomes inevitable? Cause if it doesn't... this trinket kinda sucks. All it really gives is an additional 17 crit rating, which isn't even a full 1% at level 70. If this is all this does, then I'd say getting this is a pure waste of time, and money (if you bought the cards). There are MUCH better trinkets that will add alot more crit rating then 17, and are much easier to get, that will add a permanent crit rating over a buff that lasts 10 secs, and then consumed when you crit next.

This trinket is way better than say Hourglass fo the Unraveller... IF you make the right changes to use it properly.
While there is some argument as to its actual bonus at certain critratings anyone can see that if you have around 20% crit it gives you a nice bonus of around 4-5%. Now if you get buffed higher it will lower the trinket's usefulness or if you are starting out at 25% or higher it is not for you, but we all know that we used every talent and gear peice and enchant carefully chosen to get 25-30% base crit its not just by accident unless youre in T5 or 100% Arena gear.

Why this trinket is so good is it allows you to take 10-15 talent points and respend them on base damage or stam or a good cooldown reducer and you keep that 4-5% crit. I respecced from 2009AP 25.5%crit on my hunter to 2246AP 20.5% crit and gained about 8% on my damage over 1000 hits. This is before changing one other piece of gear, but the beauty of this trinket is it gets better the more the rest of your gear gets worse, so you can take 60AP or 400HP over 1% crit every time and laugh it off.

If you have the brains to plan a bit to use this it will be the best trinket in the game for a character up to T4 full set for any damage class that is not warlock or shadowpriest.

I know, faster bows give less higher crits but a faster bow gives effectively more critrating per second... can someone tel me?

Let's see how much this adds to your average crit rate:
You have to add up the probabilities that you get to a certain stack ((1-your crit rate)^#stack) times the additional crit rate (i.e. 0.77% * #stack). I think you can ignore the fact that it only stacks 20 times cause the probability that you get there or even beyond is very low so adding up to twenty is giving a nice approximation. Of course the below calculation is only true for fights that last longer than 20 directly damaging attacks :-) OF course your crit rate also is modified by the stacks already gained

Bonus gained through:
Zero stacks: Crit rate
First stack: 1 - crit rate * 0.77%
Second stack: (1- (crit rate + 0.77%))^2 * 2 * 0.77%
and so on

The average bonus (in percent) you get is therefore:

The sum from n equals one to 20 of (1 - (crit rate + 0,77% * (n-1))^n * n * 0.77%.

Now use your scientific calculator or Excel to calculate wether you need this thing or not :-)

Unless someone proves me wrong I will assume I pretty much nailed it :-)

For all of you who are to lazy:
20% crit => 7,46% bonus
25% crit => 5,16% bonus
30% crit => 3,69% bonus
35% crit => 2,34% bonus

EDIT:

The numbers are slightly underestimating the bonus as I did not take into account that the chance to get to a certain stack is only modified by the average crit rate bonus gained by stacking the buff and not the one you have at a certain stack

I'm going to be the first one here to debate the usefulness of this trinket. At first glance, this effect seems helpful. But think about what the card actually does. It adds no DPS, attack power, strength, stamina, or any attribute whatsoever. Its only effect is adding crit chance whenever you don't crit, in essence making it less common for classes reliant on crit chance to have a dry spell.

However, if you think about it, classes that really need crit chance: arms warriors, fire mages, ret pallies, enh shamans, will generally have a 20-30% crit chance already at this point. 17 crit chance at level 70 adds less than 0.75% chance to crit. So if you're at the bare minimum 20% and critting once every 5 attacks, this will add 4*17 or 68 crit chance, which is < 3% at 70, until you crit and this extra chance is wiped out and you start over.

Basically, what I'm saying is that classes which already have a high crit chance will not see much of an effect from the card because once they crit, any additional crit chance will be wiped out. This means that the card is basically useful for classes without high crit chances already. IMO, the new darkmoon card Crusade obtained from the Blessings cards is much more helpful because it adds attack power.

To be fair, to analyze the benefits of this card properly, you need a bit of probability theory. Specifically, a Markov Chain whose states correspond to the number of times you've got the buff stacked on you -- I made it in Mathematica with the following command.

Running this gives you the extra crit rate you get from the card, as a function of p (your existing crit rate) in the steady state. That is, after you've been hitting something for a long time already. So this'll essentially tell you the behavior in long PvE boss fights -- if you go into a fight cold, like a trash mob or a PvP encounter where your opponent isn't exactly sitting still, the crit value will be somewhat lower.

(You could get information about these by taking my sparse array, making a matrix of it, and doing some finite sums. I'll post the results here if I bother, but I'd encourage someone else to do it for me, since I'm lazy.)

So, here are some tabulated values of the f-function:

So yes, it gets less and less useful as you gear up. Note how these compare with the Hourglass (1.4% crit) and Bladefist's Breadth (1.2% crit) -- ignoring the procs, the card becomes less useful in terms of raw crit rate at 33% and 37%.

Very roughly, and my math is somewhat suspect here, factoring in the proc the hourglass becomes more useful than this card in expected DPS when

300/14*.1*(p+.014) = DPS*(f-.014)

And for values of DPS between 400 and 600, this happens between 20 and 22 crit. (Again, this is the crit for all slots save the one trinket.)

So it doesn't seem very useful.

Of course, this ignores paladin vengeance, which is a huge deal for a ret paladin. I'll work up some numbers for that soon.

You're all missing the point here, this item is brilliant. Don't think about how much crit rating you get on average, but instead how many non-crits would be turned into crits due to the fact that this thing is trying to make you crit sooner when you're on a unlucky streak with crits. Palas and shamans would benefit most as they gain both types of crit from their hits. -Haywire

The Light Cap requires crits to proc, so if you combine the lightning capacitor with the darkmoon card: wrath, you just add to the possibility of procing the trinket and dealing out insane damage. Lightning Overload IMO.

The true potential of this item may lie in the Feral Druid Tank. Using swipe to aggro multiple mobs and relying on Imp LotP for minor heals. Gear for Resilience, dodge, and armor, with damage as a lower priority. You would be throwing out multiple hits at a time and therefore increasing the crit rate from this trinket - critting multiple mobs at a time. I know that the Imp LotP effect can only occur so often but.......

Crits = heals. Heals = additional aggro. Droods ftw.

I'm thinking about endgame.

70 rogue.

I have 5 haste procs constantly firing off, and haven't focused on crit, rather improving +hit & AP.

Using this trinket mitigates lack of +crit, and allows me to focus on improving hit +ap more.
My attack spd is about .6 on my OH. I've built my toon this way solely for endgame, and avoiding crit spikes. This will compliment my focus, stabilizing crit, but increasing the crits I do. Mind you, I'm not interested in critting on trash mobs...that's not where we're important. If the mob is going down quick anyways, aside from fluffing feathers in damagemeters, why spec to do uber-dmg to trash?

This is for endgame bosses. This trink will supplement my other trink and my build quite well.

There's almost always a way for particular classes who are specced right to benefit from these types of things. This, I believe, will hugely impact my dmg on endgame bosses.

Yes, my crit is 27%...but I would like to see it stabilized, so my dps will be more static, and I won't have the aggro spikes that "luck" often brings.

Look, i might be way off here, an feel free to correct me. But if the whole usefullness of this card lies soley in increasing +crit for low crit classes/specs therefore increasing dmg that normally wouldnt be done, in turn increasing threat.....

Prot warrior or feral druid MT/OT item?

Now im only asking due to the fact that i actually am a full prot warr, with around 10% crit, and the fact that through pure luck i have picked up 6 cards so far throughout heroics an different endgame runs. I am currently using moroes pocket watch and the gnomeregan autoblocker as trinkets. what im wondering is wheather this would actually be a decent swap in/swap out trinket with one of my others, and if it would actually be beneificial in any way to me.

like i said, i already have 6 of the 8, putting myself out here to see ppls thoughts on whether im better off pursuing it or not bothering=P

As a dw-shaman I cant have enough crits..keeps ap buff and flurry up all the time. With this thing I can totally concentrate on strenght and stamina gear instead of agility. Thats what makes this trinket usefull for some classes. I must say this is more a pve trinket then pvp, I dont see anyone hitting so much in pvp, without killing the person or being killed instead, to build up the critrating.

This is potentially a great trinket for an offensive holy paladin (shockadin). I agree the effectiveness of this card technically goes down the greater your gear is, but thats disregarding the way a holy pally fights.

This trinket is described as increasing BOTH melee and spell crit when any direct damage is dealt to a target. A "pure" 40/0/21 shockadin can obtain a very fast 1h weapon (such as the new arena mace) and use it to quickly generate spell crit.

-The shockadin stats are typically very high spell crit (avg. 25%) and very low physical crit (avg. 4%).

-The shockadin's *spell crit capable* abilities are on long cooldowns and are executed in 8-15 second intervals.

A shockadin pally can in theory generate 3-4% additional crit which is much more likely to be applied to the spell crit damage. This would mean a huge crit upgrade for the paladin despite how much spell crit he may have and is only limited by weapon speed (how many hits between those long cooldowns).

I myself am a Ret Pally, i have the Crusader Card and i started working on the Storms Deck but decided to check out what yall had to say about it. I read all your posts and for some classes it does seem to be not as useful as you gear up. But being a Ret Pally i rely on Vengence a lot. If i can have an almost continous +15% (stacking 5%x 3 for 15 sec, for those that didn't know) to both physical and holy damage it allows me to acutally pump out some serious DPS. Not to mention with the addition of the Cruader Card with every physical and spell dmg i gain 6 attack power stacking 20 times for +120 attack power and +8 spell dmg stacking 10 times for +80 spell dmg it is almost a continous addition to the DPS i can do. Granting on gearing up i have to focus a lot less on +crit % for the card to still be usefull. Thats my 2 cents on it thanks for reading.

There is a certain about of value this trinket adds that goes unadressed: crit consistency.

Both fury warriors and enhancement shamen use flurry. Keeping flurry up requires 1 crit every 5 swings. So while this trinket is only mediocre at providing +crit, it excels at reducing the gaps between crits. I would like to see someone with results on what % flurry was up with this trinket as compared to when a trinket that gave "comparable" crit was equipped.

here's some math:
crit procs flurry
swing 1: non crit, +17 crit rating
swing 2: non crit, +34 crit rating
swing 3: non crit, +51 crit rating
swing 4: non crit, +68 crit rating

assuming the first 4 attacks dont reapply flurry, your 5th swing has +68 crit rating, or over 3% crit, just from 1 trinket slot. In terms of keeping up flurry (which many fury wars and enhance shammies say is very important), this trinket would do a better job then any other trinket you could possibly equip.

I cannot believe how %^&*!@ed many of you are seeming by saying this card is trash. Allow me to just throw an idea out there. I do not mean to sound like an ass but facts are facts, and the fact is that if you are smart, and the correct class, you can gear/spec your character in such a way that either A) allows this trinket to give you very similar damage and MUCH more utility than you would normally have and B) allows you to gear yourself to have a !@#$%^ed amount of Attack power/Spell Damage, not to mention STAM gear or the power of it's negation of resilience's effectiveness. Overall it enables a smart person to increase the item level of ALL gear they are wearing. I, as a rogue, specced and ran searches on gear to specifically buff stam/attack power/+hit and changed my spec from 17/41/0 to 0/40/21 JUST for this trinket. The end result is a character who has nowhere near t5 gear but essentially not only adds more to raid dps, but outdps's the BETTER GEARED people whose dps he is aiding. This card, if used by an intelligent person who has access to the correct gear and gems, is the best trinket in the game...barnone. I am sitting on 14.62% crit unbuffed, 305 +hit, 1535 attack power, and when using this card my crit % is raised by a full 3-5% 63-105 (crit rating) based on averages i have drawn from SwStats. Lets see ANY trinket in this game top that. If people werent morons...this card would be worth 4000g easily on my server. Thank you comagain!

This card shines (in my opinion) as you start to stack haste. As my haste goes up, my spell crit rating goes down and this card will pick up the slack, theoretically at least. Food for thought

This is probably negligible as I would never use this in pvp anyway, but if you have some applications of this trinket stacked on you, and you cast say a Fireball that WOULD HAVE crit but didn't because of your opponents resilience - does it still drain the trinkets stack? Just a thought.

For an epic trinket I'd expect it to stack too but it only says + 17 crit for 10 sec...
