Purchase love tokens from an innkeeper and also buy perfume or cologne. Depending on which scent you are wearing, hearts will pop up over townspeople of the opposite sex. Talk to one of these people and they will have a dialog where you can give them a love token.

Giving a token will do one of two things. First, you will get a 1 hour "Adored" debuff that gives you a Pledge of Adoration: Ironforge (or whichever city the townperson is associated with). The pledges have a variety of things in them, including temporary Peddlefeet pets, city-related flavor items which can be turned in later, and unbestowed friendship bracelets. If you give any love tokens while you have the "Adored" debuff, you will receive a Pledge of Friendship, which only contains a flavor item.

The other thing that can happen when giving love tokens is that you will get a 1 hour "Heartbroken" debuff and no gift. While you are heartbroken you cannot give love tokens. You can cure this debuff by having another player use an unbestowed friendship token on you.

Just as an extra note. You can wear both cologne and perfume on the same gender character. This allows you to talk with either male or female NPC's. Just switch what your wearing...It's that easy

Keep in mind though, that perfume/cologne have a 1 hour cooldown. So choose one of them and visit all those NPC's, then an hour later visit the other gender.

You'll need about 50x Love Token

And one of each of the Cologne Bottle & Perfume Bottle.
The cologne and perfume have a 2 minute cooldown.

Once you smell good! You'll get gifts from giving the NPC's your love tokens.
You'll only be able to give tokens to male NPC's when wearing the Perfume, and only to Female NPC's when wearing the cologne.
When you open the gifts, you'll get items that can be combined.
You need to visit all three major cities...

HORDE- (I dont know exactly what to do for alliance)
ORG-

Grunt's Card X5 = Package of Cards
Freshly Baked Pie X5 = Box of Fresh Pies
Pledge of Loyalty: Orgrimmar X5 = Orgrimmar Pledge collection

Once you have 5 of each combine them all, then combine the Package of Cards, Box of Fresh Pies, and Orgrimmar Pledge collection, and you'll recieve Orgrimmar Gift Collection

TB-

Once you have 5 of each combine them all, then combine the Satchel of Cards, Basket of Flowers, and Thunder Bluff Pledge collection, and you'll recieve Thunder Bluff Gift Collection

UC-

Once you have 5 of each combine them all, then combine the Sheef of Cards, Book of Romantic Poetry, and Undercity Pledge collection, and you'll recieve Undercity Gift Collection

Once you have the tree Gift Collections, Combine all 3 of them to make the Horde Gift Collection

Turn in the Gift Collection to Kwee Q. Peddlefeet, near a city Boss:
Cairne Bloodhoof (Thunder Bluff)
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner (Undercity)
Thrall (Orgrimmar)

This completes the repeatable quest Gift Giving
You'll recieve:
Box of Chocolates &
Handful of Rose Petals or
Silver Shafted Arrow

This works for alliance as well, just Stormwind, Ironforge, and Darnassus instead. The bosses are different too. I think it gives reputation but I am not sure.

There is also a quest to give someone 1 Cologne bottle and 1 Perfume bottle also so you would need 2 of each, not 1.

The point is Buffs. When you hand in the full gift to Peddlefeet, you vote for your favorite leader, & get a box of chocolates. If your leader wins, Peddlefeet will stick around for an extra week. Blow Peddlefeet a kiss for an extra buff. the chocolates aslo buff Spell damage, Healing, or Attack power.
These turn-ins do not give rep.
Love is in the air only last 5 days. Feb 11-15.

Take on perfume if ur charming a man
Take on cologne if ur charming a woman

then talk to them (have a love token in ur bag) and u'll get a reward.

The guards is a bit tricky, havent found out yet, tho ive got some somehow

when u give love tokens to a certain number of people, u get a broken heart which means u cnt give otr get ne more gifts.
Find someone with a ring and ask them to use it on u. The you recieve the ring and ur heart is no longer broken.

I'm wearing the perfume, I see the hearts over the npc's heads but I still can't 'give' them a love token in Stormwind. What am I missing here....

I think your broken heart is automatically mended when you cure someone else's heart if they've an unbestowed friendship bracelet in their inventory. In the same way, if a broken hearted someone cures you of your broken heart, you'll lose an unbestowed friendship bracelet (if you've got one). I think. I could also be completely wrong. :)

You wear cologne/perfume then you can see NPCs which accept the items. You give them a token and they give you a reward - you can either keep it and use it or collect them and turn them in to your 'favourite hero'.

Read the NPC stuff for more info.

ok, Dr. Love's here and i will tell you what to do.

1. Buy Cologne, if you're a male, and perfume, if you're female, and a stack or two of tokens.
2. Use it.
3. Come to opposite sex guard, or npc with hearts above head and speak to him/her.
Note, that not all of the guards you will be able to give tokens. Tastes differ.
4. Bear in mind that if you come to same girl/boy 3 times, thidrd time will break your heart...
5. Currently searching for a brokenhearted, to explore the ring effect...
