Good for group PvP, especially for Trolls since it stacks with Berserking last I heard. Also good in PvE for encounters where the person you're healing takes prolonged increased damage, like Nefarian's Warrior class call (MT goes from taking 90% damage to 110%) and any Enrage-based mechanic.

The change to down-ranking heals makes the repeated use of rank 1 greater heals fairly weak. Sure, it will still be a good trinket, if not just for the 5% reduction, but most priests will have to swap from Gheal 1 to Heal 4.

I find this less useful then other trinket out there. Unless your gonna spam greater heals in that 15 seconds get a better trinket. Also this takes forever to get if your low on DKP.

This trinket is insanely good for the times when you're the primary healer in a 5-man instance. Popping it and being able to heal for 3000+ in 1.5 seconds is the priest equivalent of a Nature's Swiftness HT/HW, except that you can do it up to 10 times over the 15-second duration of the effect. Being able to pump massive amounts of healing into multiple targets who are low on health has saved me and my group from wipes more than a few times.

The fact that this trinket's effect is percentage-based and thus stays the same at level 70 and beyond (assuming Blizzard doesn't nerf it) makes it useful well into the future. This is in stark comparison to the druid's version (Wushoolay's Charm of Nature), which had its effect converted from reducing the casting time of Healing Touch by 40% to increasing spell haste rating by 400. This means it becomes less effective as you level up...at level 60 it reduces cast time by 40% (exactly like the old version), but at level 70 it reduces cast time by only 25.3%.

It has indeed been improved to 400 haste rating. haste applies to all spells though, not just GHeal.

If you are a holy priest, you can get get your gh down to 3.5 seconds with talents, so with this nice little toy the cast time of gh would be 2.1 seconds. Flash heal takes 1.4 seconds (or 1.5 seconds if you don't have 3 pieces of prophecy). So for an additional half second of cast time, you heal ~3 times as much. This will go nicely with Transcendence, because of the 8 piece bonus and the huge amount of +healing which gets full benefit on greater heals.

Edit: read on other site that cooldown is 3 minutes.

I use greater heal all the time in longer boss fights. Teamed with a good pally who flashes I never run out of mana or lose a tank. This is a holy priest most mana effective spell. You just have to have a team you and rely on.

Addressing the issues. In my book, there are three MAIN factors to evaluate to what is the best healing spells to cast: ManaCost (MC), HealAmount (HA), and CastTime(CT). Other then that, PWS is nice for casters (uninterruption), POH has incredible potential for great ratio of HA/MC, VampEmb+SWP and Holy Nova have great damage/heal combo. And then Holy Nova + Spirit Tap can be deadly; nuke a fight at the end and thrust your spirit from 300 to 600 (600 spirit = 75 Mana/second OUTSIDE Five second Rule)(and lets face it, when grouping, there is dead time between fights marking mobs, other people drinking, people catching up, and even with a fast pace, there are many seconds between battles and at 75 MPS, that's 1125 mana during Spirit Tap. So to determine the 'best' spells to cast definitely depends on the scenario, of course, which makes programs like MUSE/spirit factor extremely helpful to determine the 'efficiency' of the spell for the situation, but does not dictate an absolute answer. Using a simple spreadsheet using the healing spell variables of MC, HA, and CT, i weighted these primary categories with multiple weight scenarios, and the answers are fairly consistent for which is the best raw healing spell, and that is Prayer of Healing and Greater Heal.

Some1new002 was concerned with the MC of Greater Heal, well guess what, the raw ratio alone of MC/HA shows Greater is in fact greater. And now its ALMOST quick like a flash heal. In my book, that�s truly amazing. This is a must for any serious Priest.

If there is an interest in the simple spreadsheet i set up, my take on specific spell advantages and combinations, raw mathematical calculations, and maybe more, please express interest in this forum. I would love to provide info.

this trinket is rly awesome for me, but im greater heal specced, so 30 points in holy tree. and my main job is to cast gr heal on mt in bwl. i have full transcendence aswell. this trinket would help me a lot. i could heal much more for less mana costs and at some bwl bosses u have kinda long fights then u need that trinket.
i cant await to get it. miss only one part of it. then im done with zg, im already exalted, got the neck aswell and with trinket 2 setbonus is imba nice, then full transc and u r a real healing machine :P

This trinket will be borderline overpowered in PvP post-1.10.

2.5 sec cast Greater Heal + this trinket = 1.5 sec cast Greater Heals for 15 seconds. Yes, that's right, 1.5 sec cast Greater Heals.

So far i've read alot of comments about how good/bad this item is, but none say what you have to do to get the damn thing.

I've just gotten to revered with Zandalar, and got my Confessor's Mantle which is easier obtainable than proph shoulders, since i'm last in line in my raidgroup to get. This is next on my list of things.

I do want this but how the hell do you get it?

The reason why most people skip him is because he requires a potion called Gurubahi Mojo Madness... one potion will extinguish the flame so you can summon the boss... These pots are kind of expensive though becuse the mats for it are blood of the heros(1) Black Lotus (1) Powerfull Mojo (6) and Massive Mojo (6) you can learn this Potion from a tablet in ZG then make them anywhere... cool thing is that the Mats make 3 potions and if you dont wipe you have 2 more for the next 2 runs...or you can sell them on AH ... This can be used in pvp when healing, however if u look at other trinkets there are way better ones suited for pvp than this.

Although, dont u think its just wierd that rogues get a trinket that restores 60energy and is well useful in pvp for a stunlock.
Warriors also gain a rather useful trinket in pvp along with Mages and Warlocks.

Just a thought... Shame blizzard doesnt think so long that they'll actually give healers some good pvpstuff...

I got this trinket mabye 3 months back, and I only considered it a toy item when I picked it up. I discovered it does have some great uses, however.

First, if you use it with other pieces of the ZG set, you can get some nice bonuses. The 22 Healing is nice, and the increased smite and holy fire range allows you to attain 42 yard smite and holy fire, the longest range in the game (by 1 yard, but hey)

As for the uses of the trinket itself, I found that its great for those WSG games where the whole team is stupidly pounding on the flag carrier while you heal them from 40 yards. Very hard to kill the carrier while a gheal 5 is going on them every 1.5 seconds.

But what really suprised me was the incredible value I have found in this trinket on a 40 man raid. There is a ton of content out there where a great deal of damage can be applied to a great many people periodicly, and is applied in such a varied way that PoH is not applicable. Some Examples:

BWL Goblin Packs
MC Firewalker Packs
Golemagg Enrage
Rag Melee
Razorgore Phase 2
Broodlord
Bug Family + Sartura(only occasionally, OOR issues, but massive damage)
Princess Huhuran (This is huge, absolutely the best trinket you could have for this fight)
Anub'Keran
Instructor Razsuvius

And a host of other encounters where this trinket can really save many lives.

I just got mine yesterday. Currently I am holy/discipline, however, I am normally a shadow priest.

Anyways, thought I would share. This is a good trinket, however, it is very situational.

It's only good for specific things and if you know it will happen. Considering priests do not have swiftmend or nature's swiftness, the ability to fire off a 3k heal in 1.4 seconds can be invaluable. The only issue is, its once ever 3 minutes and takes up a trinket slot. Then again, nature's swiftness is 2 minutes.

Personally, I don't have the Rejuvenating Gem, and if I equip this trinket it means I am giving up Blue Dragon, Shard of the Scale, Neltharion's Tear or the Zandalar Hero Charm; however the burst healing cannot be denied.

It's good for fights like Broodlord, Sartura and sometimes Fankriss. My Greater Heals average exactly 3000 at the minute. And when the tank drops to a critical point because of that crit or two, nothing comes in more handy than an Inner Focus + Trinket + Greater Heal V.

Now, it is tough. By equipping so much +heal and this trinket I do sacrifice my own regen, but nowadays every druid has Innervate too. It's really situational.

And yeah, it is great for Warsong Gulch.

I got the AD trinket for healing yesterday and im halfway to getting this one..I was wandering, do they share the same CD? The AD trinket has a 1 min CD btw and is great, cast flash heals x5 and then cast a renew on a warrior during any boss fight and it ticks for 500. My numbers are figured on +408 healing and 8700 mana buffed, ppl with less mana may consider using a lesser rank heal to build the 5 required casts in 20 secs. With these 2 trinkets combined and pop an infusion on yourself...man I could keep MT up during the bloodlords berserker rage by my self and allow for my supporting cast of healers regen for 1 min. Hate my become an issue on this but the MT has had 1-2min to build agro...so. Ill try to repost when I get both and tell you if they can be cast together.

FYI my guild does only ZG and AQ for raids..we have not started MC and smoke ZG on a regular basis, for all you ppl out there that say "gotta be epic'd out to do ZG". OdM FTW

This trinket has saved the raid countless times. It's power in your hands like nothing else. Done right you can get 7 gheals off in 15 secs. Anyone who even suggests that a mana/5 trinket is better than this isn't interested in being a healer. This trinket is all about healing. This ISN'T on the global cooldown and you can use your ZHC and this at the same time in a macro.

For a long time the only trinket I never took off was my Darkmoon Beasts Card. Now it's this. What other trinket could give you 21,000 in healing in 15t seconds?

Mindtap Talisman = 15 seconds = 33 mana gained
Hazza'rah's Charm of Healing = 15 seconds = 21,000 healed

You be the judge.

i usually use heal rank 4 and toss in a few rank 3. i never use my gheal of any rank unless a big dmg spike hits then it's gheal 4. i dont know, it costs 518 mana to toss to heal R4 and if a spike hits while i am casting i spam another right away i have only spent 518 mana and healed the same as gheal 4 and saved myself 38 mana. alone 38 mana is nothing but after 2 min when i am the last priest still casting heals it counts.

flame all you want, i have yet to lose a main tank this way. heck honestly, most of the time my renew is enough to offset most trashmob dmg w/ me ocassionally tossing a heal R3. i guess it depends on how well you know your tanks and the mobs you are fighting.

like i said, flame all you want, i have yet to loose a MT under my care.

the 3 min cooldown would issue not to trigger this thing through macro with every greater heal u cast, thus using it at the right time. which is another time consuming thing when in combat.
It's a nice one, doh, but not that great of a raidsaver as some of u claim.

This trinket is simply the best thing a priest could ever want. This is by far incredibly useable in PvP and PvE

PvP you ask? As a holy priest, mortal strike is not my friend. Ive sustained a full 20s of a Rank 14 warrior going off on me with this trinket inbetween. Ive kept a warrior alive while being banged on by 4 people at once. Power this with PI, Rank 5 GH, and ZHC, and my GH's go off for about 3500. 3500 healing every 1.5s is insane.

PvE, you can use this 1-4 times a fight. Especially with the spike damage in Naxxaramas, or even AQ40, this can be a turning point. Best two examples of this trinket are:
Can solo heal Maexena for the final enrage web enwrap (I get a DI before hand). Keep the tank up by myself basically through her burst damage enrage.
Princess Huhuran at 30%. After the shield wall fails on our MT warrior, Im the only priest responsible for keeping him up, and spamming Rank 4 GH does it perfectly.

Only downsides to this trinket: Spamming so many GH's is incredible mana-inefficient unless every GH is landing with no overhealing. I only run about 500 + heal (560 spirit / 9400 mana raid buffed) since Im a raw stat priest, so the regen from losing so many GH's is acceptable.

Upside: Trigger this and spam Rank 1 GH. Heals more than a flash heal, and 1/2 the mana. Can be incredibly mana efficient at peak times. This trinket SHOULD BE our 31 point Holy talent. Final.

Actually... if you use this trinket at patch 1.10 with Divine fury talent you get 1,5sec gheal cast. Add up The All-Seeing Eye of Zuldazar and +22healing set bonus and you'll get very powerful gheal combo. Atleast for full transcendence set owners this seem very powerful combo.

This seems really good for a couple purposes:
healing an MT when he is taking an incredible amount of damage, certain bosses in BWL.

healing a lot of critically injured people fast in an extreme emergency situation, like a boss fight that isn't going as planned and lots of people dead and lots of people close to dead, get innervated since you probably won't have 5k mana, use this and heal the 5-7 most important people who are still alive. healing ~3500 per heal instead of ~1200 per heal and only taking .7 seconds longer to cast seems worth it.

Like a most trinkets, it's not useful for every situation but is for some.

That's an amazing 190 mana if you straight up chain flash heals...
YAY! I'm underwhelmed.

On the other hand, if you had a talented GHeal for some reason this would bring it down to a 2.1s cast time which you could realistically cast about 6 of before the trinket runs out. That would be about 17k hp healed for ~4.7k mana assuming you have GHeal fully talented out. That's 3.56 hp / mp assuming you have absolutely no + healing gear. If you have about +400 healing which is perfectly possible with end game gear it would be ~19k hp for ~4.7k mana which is about 4.07 hp / mp.

If you were to activate the healing beads at the same time that would push your efficiency up to about 4.31 hp / mp. Assuming an optimal situation you could do about 20k hp healed for 50% of your mana in an end game scenario. Unfortunately, the practicality of greater heals in end game scenarios is little to null.

This would be a lot of HP healed in a hurry, but I've yet to encounter any situation where it would be useful. Prolonged use of lower rank FHeals is usually far more efficient in a scenario with more than one healer and +healing gear involved. Oh well, I suppose it's a nice toy, but nothing revolutionary by any means.

Of course this is all under the ideal circumstances which would be very very vey rare.

eupho - why you think it is useless? IMO this trinket is imba when you have Greater Heal build or/and full tier2.

Some stats:

Casting time: 1.5 sec (so it's like Flash Heal!)
Mana cost: 298 mana

CD: 3 mins.
