Why oh why must Bliz make these blue gloves better for tanking the the Gauntlets of Might? The two are basically the same except these have 1% dodge and Might gloves have 1% hit.

these aren't better than might.
might is a little better

might has more: +8ac,+5str,+3sta,+7fr,+3def.

+1dodge and +1 to hit is about to same in usefullness

Might gloves have +5 defense now, and +1% chance to dodge is better than +1% chance to hit for tanking.

I'd take these over might. I'd take Stonegrips over these, though, so it's not like it really matters.

How can you justify this as a pally item? My warrior can't do MC to get might, so this is exactly what i need. If a pally was to roll on this, he would be kicked.

ok, to all the pallies out there who think they can tank better than warriors:

1) Look at the Might/Wraith Set and look at the Lawbringer/Judgement Set. Look at the set bonuses for each. If you can't figure out what Blizard made pallies for then your a dumbass.

2) Warrior's have more threat causing, aggro gaining and protection abilities (taunt, sunder armor, heroic strike, shield wall, shield block, shield slam, shield bash, challenging shout, etc). warriors even have a stance and a talent that makes them cause more threat. pallies can cause good amounts of dmg with seals and a 2h, which cause aggro, but who tanks with a 2h?

3)Lets look at the WoW website. Blizard says this about warriors: "Takes the most damage before becoming incapacitated", "The Warrior is the one of prime candidates to capture and hold the attention of creatures while they die to sword and spell",and "primarily meant for acting as a group's main tank." This is what Blizard says about pallies: "The Paladin is ideal for groups due to the Paladin's healing, Blessings, and other abilities. Paladins can have one active aura per Paladin on each party member and use specific Blessings for specific players." Under the "Challenges of playing a Paladin", it has a section on mastering healing techniques. It has nothing on how to tank, or hold aggro.

4)No high end guild that does MC, BWL, etc, has a paladin as a MT. If someone came into one of these guilds thinking he/she was going to tank, he/she would immediatly be %^&*! slaped and put in their place (healing, blessings, etc). Plus, i have seen on this website where pallies say that they put on their seals, and use a 2h and see if they can get aggro b4 the tank just to show that they can hold aggro better. Well, if a mage or a rogue went all out dmg b4 a warrior gets aggro, they would steal it too, and a lot quicker than a pallie would. Thats why guilds work together to take down bosses. Once a warrior has aggro, it is very hard for them to lose it (i know, i am a MT for MC, BWL).

Now, pallies can tank in little nothing instances (DM, BRD, strat, and MAYBE ubrs if they are good, but a warrior is still best). However, u will never find a pallie tanking in ZG, MC, and BWL. Just ask a high end pallie what his job is. they know. Warriors = tank. period.
now go ahead and flame post on how i am dumbass and dont know what i am talking about, and how pallies are the best ever, just atleast try and back it up with some reason (if there is any).

I am a protection Paladin myself and i would never say I can tank any better then my guild's tanks

Allthough there are warriors around that really need to l2p :P

I would maybe do a bid on these as most of our warriors have Might, but if a warrior needed it sure..

Only thing with this nice set is that there is no set bonus like might.

Bloodsoaked should definately become a set with a set bonus, for those that don't do MC yet this would be better than full heroism for sure.

Well, stonegrips have 5 Defense more than these, but the +1% dodge is obtained with 25 defense points... since def raises block and parry too in the same way i'd say that the 1% in dodge has the same "value" as roughly 8 defense points (just to compare). So yes, i'd use these insead of the stonegrips (i'm a def pally, btw); the slightly increased armor and str are a nice extra, too.

Would you wear these over Stonegrips? It's less defence but a whole 1% to dodge and a lot more AC and strength.

people are putting too much stock into +5 def. as stated earlier the %1 to dodge is huge but don't forget that strength adds to your block value as well.
