but seriously, not real reason for THIS item, by the time you killing enemies lvl 10-13 you dont need sit down for 10 secconds to gain 30health and 60mana.

In early Classic Vanilla, this item was a very powerful consumable for leveling alts. During the early days of Classic, this item was frequently available for about 5-10s/stack in the Alliance Auction House due to the large masses of people leveling alts. These tea leaves have historically been considered trash, but seeing as they heal 30 health instantly and have no cooldown (except GCD), they're actually the best food item for a big part of your early leveling journey.

These leaves cannot be eaten in combat, but you can eat them every 1.5 seconds while RUNNING outside of combat, because the heal they provide is instant. This means you can just keep chewing these leaves in between kills without ever needing to stop. They also stack in 20, so 1 stack can take you very far at level 4, as 30 HP is roughly 1/3 of your entire health pool at that point. Based on my limited testing, the heal cannot crit.

Spam clicking this item for 21 seconds restores 420 health; regular level 5 food heals 243 health over 21 seconds. This difference means the tea leaves heal ~73% more health than level 5 food. Their effect is equivalent to 100 hp/5 seconds. Only at level 15 will regular food become slightly superior, but you'll still need to stop to eat it. Arguably, they still maintain their value beyond level 15, as it's much more convenient to just eat a few of these while running instead of having to sit down to eat.

The Riverpaw Herbalists that drop these leaves have generally been ignored by everyone, because they're fairly isolated and aren't required for any quests. In early Classic, however, many people resorted to grinding mobs, and choosing obscure locations to finish quests (Gnoll Paws can be obtained from this unpopular location) and this maintained a steady, but fairly low supply of tea leaves available in the Auction House. Fortunately, it has a high drop rate, and they can drop 1-5 of them at a time.

For solo leveling purposes, this item can really speed up your grinding process from 4 to 10-15. If you're min-maxing and getting boosted, though, you can just hire a hunter/warlock to use their pet to kill anything you tag for crazy boosted XP gains from 1 to 10.

Despite all this, the Green Tea Leaf is not worth farming at all, but if someone's selling them for cheap, I always made sure to grab them and build my supply in case I ever wanted to make a new alt.

When it comes to the mana restoration part, this item does fall short at first glance... Refreshing Spring Water is far superior in every way. However, the Green Tea Leaf counts as a FOOD item, meaning you can eat the leaves and drink at the same time for increased mana gain (151 + 60). The Horde quest reward Senggin Root is still better, as it, too, counts as a FOOD item, meaning you can drink water and consume the Senggin Root and stack 2 mana restoration effects simultaneously just as with these tea leaves.
